HI everyone I’m Val!!! If you’re here then you’re most likely to come from my ao3 page. First of all I want to thank you for giving me a chance to make you happy with my silly lil fics :3
I’m now a reader insert x canon character writer and I’ve been really enjoying it so far! I have lots of ideas for fanfics but only sometimes actually write them because, ahem, laziness or— STUFF or whatever.
I like a lot of media but will only write about what I love the most. Right now I keep on writing about DC comics, Invincible series (and comics), and One Piece (anime only!)
also I’m starved for interaction so YES you caught me, that’s why I downloaded Tumblr, I hate sm how you can’t really do much with the people that read what you write in ao3.
I’ll gladly answer any questions that might come later. Thank you for reading my writings! I’ll promise I’ll write more stuff! Also I’m opened to writing requests/drabbles/headcannons so yes you can ask for them in my ‘reqs/ask me anything!’ section!
I don’t really know how to use this app I’m sorry if I sound like I’m 89 years old
NOOOOO stop i just found out in Reddit that there’s a HUGE collection of prompts for 5+1 fanfics and I’ve gotten so SO many ideas im sobbing of happiness. I might be writing a ton this month 😼
Back then I really thought many few people liked Leopika. Turns out I was in the wrong platform + wrong language (lol). For some reason Chrollo/Kurapika is HUGEEEE in Wattpad 😂 I’m glad I found my people on ao3 though 🥳
Leorio knows just what he needs to feel better. Love. His love, specifically.

⛓𓌹💊𓌺⛓
Leorio was being swallowed by medical books. His apartment was swarmed in them. In paper sheets full of written notes and small bugs that kept him company during the toughest studying days.
Exams were getting unbelievably close and time kept on ticking no matter how much he tried to not notice. It had been so long since he last had to study for something this big, but he was sure it was all gonna be worth it. All the long hours and sleepless nights would come to an end soon (or so he hopes— he has a hunch they won’t).
Words kept on flowing from his eyes and leaving his brain in the shape of yawns. The city was quiet and the only sound he could hear was the gentle buzzing of the fan blades spinning, the breeze cold and gentle when hitting his face.
Despite the need to shut every book closed and go to bed, Leorio’s mind kept on drifting towards the uneasiness of ‘what if I fail it?’. He couldn’t afford to fail now, he was not willing to do extra theory essays anytime soon.
The moon was full and softly filling the room with an extra source of relaxing light. It was a perfect study night for a very tired medical student who was just slightly behind on his classes.
The quietness was so much that his eyes started to close. Everything was so peaceful. His mind was relaxed, not a single thought of worry for once running through him.
That, until a shiver broke his peace. There was a disruption of peace that could be felt three floors below and he didn’t know what it was. But he didn’t have to wait much longer to discover it, since a single knock echoed all the way through his small apartment.
It was far past any acceptable visiting hours and he wasn’t expecting a guest at all. So, who was knocking?
He’d seen it in horror movies. The cheap ones he put on sometimes while studying just so his apartment wouldn’t be completely silent; he was the cute brave guy, and then on the other side of the door there’d be a killer. Or a monster. Or maybe both. And spoiler: the cute brave guy always dies first.
So he gulped, Adam’s apple bobbing softly. He stood up, closing his books and letting his feet drag him towards the door, opening it just a little so he could peek outside.
And outside, he didn’t find a monster. He found his friend. His very blond, very still friend. Standing there with his head bowed down and his fist half raised as if to knock again after a few agonizing moments of silence.
“Kurapika?”
The door flung open fast so Leorio could greet the Kurta. He should be mad. He should be very mad because the man who had been actively pushing him away had the nerve to show up to his door without any remorse. Though he should also be ashamed of himself for chasing Kurapika so much.
He hadn’t gotten a single returned call in what felt like ages. Not a note, not a voice recording, barely some text messages that were mostly three or four words.
Yet none of that was into Leorio’s head the moment he saw the blond’s silhouette standing outside his apartment. All that he thought about was how happy he was to see him alive.
His long arms wasted no time in wrapping around the Kurta’s body, one hand cradling the back of the blond head, the other with his fingers squeezing into the narrow waist. Leorio was hunched in a weird way to make up for the height difference but nothing mattered to him. Nothing but his friend in his arms.
Kurapika felt his clothes get wet at the shoulder as he raised his right hand to uncomfortably pat Leorio’s back. He hadn’t noticed his chains had materialized until the gentle jingle got to his ears, eyes big in surprise. No matter how hard he tried to deny it, having someone to welcome you so kindly felt like a special gift sent from God himself.
It wasn’t long until Leorio, very gently, pushed him hard enough to make the blond stumble back a few steps. The student’s eyes were dark and glistening but his lips were pressed together in a way that seemed more like he was thinking on what to say next.
“Idiot!” Leorio was quick to point a finger at the Kurta, wiping his eyes with the long sleeve of his sleepshirt. “What are you doing here? You could’ve said something!”
Kurapika’s thin lips parted as if to say something, his hand falling to his side. This is the part he dreaded the most. The explanation. His eyes went half lidded, looking away.
“I—“, his voice was soft and he stuttered, which made Leorio sniff and stand straighter, holding him by the arm and pulling him inside the apartment. He couldn’t risk Kurapika going away again. “I need a doctor.”
As if a single closed door could stop him.
Leorio perked up at that, letting out a soft ‘huh’ sound. His big hands hovered over Kurapika’s sides, unsure of he was allowed to touch. But the blond only pushed his hands away, faintly. It hurt him to see the worry in Leorio’s eyes.
“I’m not hurt.” He stated, looking up at Leorio’s face, his heart squeezing a little. The chains dangling from his fingers slowly grew off, until it was just his delicate fingers fisting his suit. “Not… like that.”
“Hn.” the brunet hummed softly. Kurapika looked different from what he remembered.
He was shaking slightly, and his breathing, despite being calmed and slow, hitched every few inhales. The black contacts he used to disguise his true eye color were letting out the smallest hint of a dark-ish crimson around the iris.
“What’s wrong?” Leorio asked, his voice soft and rumbly, one hand on Kurapika's shoulder as he guided him to the only armchair he had in the apartment, sitting him down slowly.
Kurapika had never been one to ask for help and it worried Leorio’s heart to the point where he wanted to help him in any way he could, if that meant to ever see him brightly smile like he once did.
“I don’t know what’s happening,” the Kurta’s voice was small, barely over a whisper. His eyes were wide open now but glistening, fixed on his legs and avoiding looking directly at Leorio’s face. The student was sitting on his knees on the floor, right in front of him, and he felt unworthy of being the subject to get all of this attention. “I…”
He swallowed hard, his throat feeling tight. Leorio’s fingers came up to brush a strand of the blond hair behind Kurapika’s ear, moving a little closer so he could look at the bodyguard’s face.
Leorio’s presence really was calming and Kurapika hated himself for pushing him away, even if it was for the best. For both of them. Or so he wanted to believe so.
“Tell me.”
“I keep waking up and forgetting everything I did the night before.”
The student’s hand gently pressed against Kurapika’s thigh, and Leorio hated himself for thinking the Kurta looked so beautiful in the moonlight, with his pink lips parted, his red nose, his eyes partly glowing majestically and his blond hair falling on his shoulders like a curtain made of gold threads.
Leorio blinked awake from the trance, “you what?”
Stress.
“My chest hurts all the time,” Kurapika sniffed, the sound strange to Leorio. But he didn’t comment on it. Because if the younger man had come looking for him, it must be because this time, he’s really in deep. “I apologize. I haven’t been contacting you much.”
Anxiety.
“Kurapika”, the tall man called his name, his free hand coming up to put his index finger beneath the delicate skin of Kurapika’s chin, tilting his head a little bit, “Don’t try to make this about me.”
That’s what Kurapika hated and loved the most about Leorio. That he was the most selfless, kind hearted man. Melody knew it. Gon and Killua knew it. Everyone loved him for that. Yet why did it feel like Kurapika didn’t deserve nice things like what Leorio could give him? Someone to worry for him?
Leorio sighed. He didn’t know what Kurapika’s been up to lately (as in— the last very few months. Maybe almost a year) but he was head over heels about the fact that he had came to him. His safe place.
And he was almost sure he had the diagnosis already.
The tan man stood up from the floor, taking one of the pale hands in his, making Kurapika stand up as well. Then, Leorio sat. And the blond man stumbled into him, not realizing the second Leorio had him sitting between his spread legs.
“Kurapika,” he whispered by his ear and it made the Kurta shiver, hands coming up to hold to the arms of the armchair, while Leorio’s slipped under his to circle his waist. “You just need someone to treat you right.”
The student’s voice was smooth and perfect to Kurapika’s ears, and his body went from taut and tense to melting against Leorio. And before he knew it, a single tear rolled down his soft cheek, leaving a wet trail behind it. A trail that Leorio kissed.
“Leorio…”
“Shh,” the student replied softly, and the faintest blush had taken over his cheeks. He took his glasses off, setting them clipped to the collar of his sleepshirt. “Let me give you some love.”
Kurapika had made a sound that he’d later be ashamed of, but it made Leorio smile. It had been so long since he felt safe enough to let his guard down.
The older man nuzzled his cheek against Kurapika’s and the blond quickly understood that maybe Leorio was enjoying it way more than expected. He had a dumb smile on his face and his eyes were blissfully closed. Then, he felt a big hand right at his chest, over his heart.
“This is what needs help, right here,” he whispered, looking at Kurapika’s side profile. It made him a little nervous but nodded, letting Leorio know he agreed. A little reluctantly, but agreed nonetheless. “That’s why I’m studying to be a doctor, isn’t right?” The brunet asked, “What kind of doctor would I be if I couldn’t cure a heartbreak?”
Kurapika sniffled, and the tiniest smile formed on his lips. Pure, shaky and faint.
⛓𓌹💊𓌺⛓
“Leorio!”
Kurapika had done the impossible: had a day off. He had spent the morning with Leorio, and the latter had stopped studying for once; his exams could wait but Kurapika couldn’t.
They had fallen asleep together after moving to Leorio’s bed, sharing a blanket and spooning. Kurapika had learned that the student liked to be the smaller spoon even if he was way taller and physically bigger. He had re-learned the sound of Leorio’s snores and the warmth of his body against his.
Meanwhile, Leorio learned that sleeping with Kurapika meant having to wake up the next morning with big dark eyes staring at him while he fought sleepiness and probably, while he slept.
It was kind of cute.
The blond had let Leorio cook him breakfast. Had smiled when Leorio brushed a tiny crumb off his lip and let out a blissful laugh when he saw the student’s red face. Leorio had told him everything about how med school was going, given him about a thousand hugs and one forehead kiss Kurapika had pretended he didn’t like and brushed it off, but he really liked having the tan man’s plush lips against his skin.
Now, he had the taller man cornered with a look that suggested he was mad, but his eyebrows relaxed in a second when Leorio smiled.
Kurapika’s eyes closed, and he looked so peaceful it hurt Leorio to see him go again.
“Thank you.”
Hearing the words coming from Kurapika’s lips made Leorio unbelievably happy. He was shining like a small sun. But then Kurapika turned around, walking towards the door of the apartment.
“I have to go.” He announced, hand on the knob as he opened the door. Then he looked back, meeting Leorio’s face as the student rushed to be close to him. “So…”
“You think you’ll be alright on your own?”
Kurapika’s lips parted, a small sound escaping him. His heart squeezed at the thought of being on his own again. Alone with unwanted thoughts and the spirits of his past.
“I…” the blond looked down, and Leorio opened his arms. What else could he do if it wasn’t to let himself be hugged? Nothing else when Leorio’s arms looked so warm and comfortable. “I think I’m sick again.” He whispered against the man’s chest, smiling softly.
