Dot and bubble being a story of white supremacists who's bigotry gets them killed and this being a story with blackness at its core about community and lifting each other up, passing on heritage and tradition, and forgiveness where everyone lives at the end, even the "villian"

One story where the doctor learns that there are places his new body won't be accepted, contrasted by one where it helps him find community and support and love.

In order to become the pope you must be baptized. In order to be baptized you must confess your sins and accept Jesus as your savior. Dogs are free of original sin according to biblical canon and as a result Jesus can not be their savior. There unfortunately is rules that say a dog can’t be pope

i do want to say, the pope dying is not Good. like haha on easter, we hate the churches and religion, but pope francis made real change within the church. he cared. he was willing to listen.

the next pope will hopefully be better, but there is a very real, very imminent chance that the next pope will turn back everything pope francis stood for. the next pope could very very well be a an extreme right leaning pope.

He was shockingly progressive in an incredibly conservative institution. Of course he wasn't perfect but he was committed to compassion far more than previous popes who prioritized dogma over all else. He took action on sex abuse scandals, considered women becoming deacons, and was not as violently homophobic as past church leaders. He also turned down many of the opulent trappings of his office. And he had the balls to tell conservative American Catholics they were wrong and not behaving in a Christian manner. His actions may seem small to people not super familiar with the Catholic church, but as someone who has Catholic family members (my dad was raised Catholic and left) it was very exciting to see someone even remotely open to change. I hope he told JD Vance he was a shitty Catholic before he died. I truly hope the next pope is at least as compassionate and humble as Pope Francis.
