Henry shot Nora a glance at her comment as he walks, his mouth a hard line. His shoulders tensed, nearly in sync with the man’s behind him. The statement was a little uncalled for, he thought, and he nearly hissed 'This time,' back at her—as if the next time he saw William, that wouldn't be the case. But with the councilman standing behind him, he didn't dare insinuate such things.
Stopped by the hand on his shirt, he stumbled back, reflexively throwing his elbow back to hit whoever grabbed him. It was purely on reflex, he was already feeling cornered and trapped and he nearly regretted it instantly. He shrugged away from William after he struck the other, grumbling for him not to touch him.
"No actually, I think you two would get along really well alone," He snapped as he readjusted the collar of his shirt. He looked to Nora, "Sure, whatever. Just don’t be a pain in my ass, I have enough to worry about on the wall."
Nora avoided Henry’s gaze, knowing it was a hard blow but enjoying it a bit nonetheless. She couldn’t help but grin when she saw Henry’s elbow hit Will. He deserved everything he would get, Nora was sure of that. “Yeah, well. Willie over here and I always enjoy our alone time, don’t we? Maybe this time you can give me a black eye or break another rib. It’s like roulette. I just never know what I’m going to roll.” She rolled her eyes, looking over at Henry, “And excuse you. I won’t be a pain in the ass. I’m never a pain in the ass. You know you need me. So just admit it.”
The (not entirely) unexpected elbow to the face caused Will to stumble back a few paces, and he almost responded to it by raising a hand and hitting Henry back just as hard.
Almost.
Instead, he brought his fingers up to his nose, sniffed, frowned when he saw blood and wiped his hand on his jeans. He was about to snap at Henry when he heard Nora's reply, and instead Will turned to face her. He was glaring, gritting his teeth, clenching his fist.
How dare she? How fucking...? "Because I've assaulted you so many times." Will sneered and took a step toward Nora. His hand hovered a few inches away from her, and it wanted to hit her. Or slam her against a wall. Or throw her. But not here - not now, not when he actually needed her. Not in front of Henry.
Will grunted instead. He lowered his hand. "Just leave."
