A car was coming her way, bright headlights blinding her and then, they shifted as she opened her eyes, turning into regular light bulbs on the hospital ceiling, her vision slightly blurred as Allison slowly came to, the sound of machines beeping echoing behind her as she slowly turned her head and, in the chair next to her bed, there was a young man and she furrowed her brows in confusion. “ Are—-” Her voice broke and Allison had to clear her throat to speak again.
“ Are you my doctor? What am I doing here? “
Ever since that call came in the middle of the night, Scott hadn’t felt able to breathe. Staring down at the beautiful raven-haired girl that owned his heart, he kept wishing that she would just open her eyes, give him some kind of indication that she’d be alright, but nothing came. He had taken her hand in the hope of taking away some of the pain, but the doctors kept her pretty comfortable so there was really none of the pain to extract. All he could do was hope that whatever was injured within would heal quickly.
It took days for her to finally wake up, though Scott was barely aware of the time, never once bothering to leave her side. His mother made sure that he ate and drank so he would keep up his strength, but everything tasted bland and his stomach churned every single time. Why should he eat when the love of his life was hooked on all kinds of machines, being fed some liquid through tubes. It wasn’t fair. As her eyes finally opened though, none of that mattered anymore and Scott smiled brilliantly at her, even if he must have looked worn around the edges. Gripping her hand tighter, he pushed closer to the bed with the intention of kissing her gently. Only then did he hear those horrible words and his blood instantly ran cold. She didn’t remember him!
“...You were in a car accident, Allison. Don’t you remember?“
