To Saudi women:
Today will be the day where we are granted the right to drive, this is only the beginning for how we will change our male dominated society to be more inclusive and welcomeing of our presence. We fought for years for this right and many others so let’s remember the previous generations of women and men activists who fought against misogynistic gender roles and legislations and demanded that we are treated as equals in this country.
I’m proud of you all for fighting or trying to break out of oppression even if that meant being threaten with various types of abuse both from family members as well as society. You are all so brave. I have so much love for each and everyone of you and I hope with all my heart for the day that we are granted all the human rights we deserve.
Saudi women are intelligent, strong, brave, and so many other qualities and I am so proud and honored to be one of you.
We did it girls, and we will do more!
