heres my personal headcanons! :D (get ready for soooo much loredumping, this is like 4 years of headcanons summarized).
i imagine they are still āinā minecraft, meaning they still have admins/servers/respawns and of course, code.
every player is spawned completely human, with perfectly normal code. but as they go through life, they are likely to glitch their code in some way. (player code is so jank. it is very fragile and easy to break)
the most common glitch is when the game gets confused and kinda- intertwines your code together with a mobās code. there are various ways this can happen, like if you somehow die in the exact same tick as a nearby mob, or if you match the personality and temperament of a mob just right.
the new hybrid code can manifest in a lot of different ways, like a sliding scale!
you could have someone who has only a line or or two of mob code, so while they doesnāt have any physical attributes, they could have few instincts reminiscent of said mob. (like a cat hybrid having urges to sit on chests)
or you could have someone whose code is almost overwhelmed by the mob, so they have a lot of traits, physical attributes, and instincts. (like a wolf hybrid who looks less human and more like we would call a werewolf).
you also have cases like doc, who is a hybrid of two mobs. its rare, but not unheard of. doc is also an example of intentional code manipulation.
his arm was just- ripped out of his code by dinnerbone. not many people can manipulate player code like that, though. watchers, experienced admins, and of course devs are the few beings capable.
on occasion, hybrids will go to admins or devs and ask them to āresetā their code and revert them back to being a human. this doesnāt effect their memory or anything, as its basically just pruning all the mob code, but it still is a long and arduous process.
admins and devs cannot, however, make a human player into a hybrid. the player code just rejects the added code and it results in a.. not good time for the poor soul. they only way to become a hybrid is through organic happy accidents.
thats (most) of my mcyt hybrid headcanons!!! i do have more, including just general stuff abt player code, servers, respawning, ect. but this post is already getting a little long.
