synopsis: Chloe's friend crush starts wearing body glitter and now she has to deal with the consequences
a/n: this is just something silly i wrote in less than an hour because i'm avoiding univeristy work lmao dont take this seriously. English is not my first language. Chloe has a crush but it's still oblivious to it, pinning Chloe, loser!chloe, reader just loves shinning, before the storm era. the pics it's just for the aesthetic, not necesarily represent reader's skintone. i MIGHT make this into a multi part thing
The first time Chloe noticed, she had been annoyed. More like pissed off. Her favorite t-shirt ever, with chunks of glitter that, no matter what she did, wouldn't wash off.
She didn't understand where it had come at first, because she wasn't the arts and crafts type. Heck, she didn't even though there had ever been a particle of glitter on her house since she had been around 8 years old.
And then, she had gone to school still annoyed because she really did want to wear that t-shirt that day, and she had sat down to hang out under a tree with the girl, her closest-thing-she-had-to-a-friend, when she spots it.
She was sparkling. Fucking sparkling when the sunlight hit the skin of her arms, neck and chest (although she mentally kicked herself for looking in that direction in the first place, because yeah, she did have a nice chest and looked real nice in that low neck she had picked today-ugh she did not mean it that way, she was just envious, maybe- but that didn't mean she had to ruin whatever they had for staring at her chest).
She was forgetting the point. The point was, her friend was sparkling like those vampires from that horrible movie. What was it again? Twilight?
Yeah, that was right. Twilight.
Not that she had seen that shit, of course. Only the memes online. And maybe the images of the pretty actress who played Alice, but that was only to get inspiration for her hairstyle.
The point was. Her friend had fucking glitter all over her skin. Thinner than the one from arts and craft. And it looked pretty similar to the one stuck on her beloved t-shirt.
"Dude, are you in the process of becoming a fricking faerie or what? why do you shine?"
The girl looked confused for a moment and made a funny expression with her mouth -that of course didn't make Chloe notice the sparkle also present on her pretty lips, surely the result of lip gloss- until she looked down at her hands and gasped.
"Oh, this? body glitter, dude." She answered, moving her hand more so it received more sunlight and moved it so Chloe could see the little sparkly dots.
"Why would you want to wear body glitter in the first place?"
"Why not wear body glitter, dude. That's the real question" She said in that serious tone she used when they were teasing each other, then elaborated. "Dunno, my mom bought it for me the other day, I tried it out and it's addicting. I put on a tiny bit and then I loved it so much I put more. Now it doesn't wash off. This is all from yesterday"
Yesterday. That made Chloe connect the dots. She looked over the clothes the girl was wearing and noticed that, just like her shirt, they were full of glitter. Which only meant that the dammed body glitter did not, in fact, stayed in the body but transferred to clothes. And they sat together in every class they shared - when Chloe cared enough to show up to classes, that is- so maybe that was the moment when it had gone into Chloe's clothes.
(Or maybe it had been when she had said goodbye with a small hug and a kiss to Chloe's cheek last night, but she would rather not think of that to avoid becoming a stuttering mess like yesterday. Ugh, she hated feeling embarrassed.)
"So it was you" Her tone was accusatory, and a gasp left her lips. "You ruined my shirt, with glitter. Dude. I could have worn it at least two more times before I needed to wash it but now because of you I had to do the laundry this morning"
The girl gasped as well, and used one of her hands to cover her mouth as small giggles started to leave her lips. "No way."
"Yes way, it had to be you. Who else would wear body glitter in this hellhole aside from you?"
That made the other girl uncover her mouth, her giggles turning into full laugher. "Dude, I am so sorry. I had no idea it would transfer to you"
The apology didn't sound that serious, because after all she was laughing. But the tone of her voice and the sound of her laugh made her less irritated, she didn't understand why.
"Whatever, you owe me something. I was trying to rescue my poor shirt from the crawls of your glitter and since my mom saw me washing I had to do the whole laundry. Precious time I could have used to sleep"
"How about a donut? The chocolate ones you like" She offered, now done laughing but a smile still present in her face.
And hey, who was Chloe to refuse a donut? -or that smile?-.
"Make it two" She said, with a pout on her face.
"Deal" The other girl smiled and brought Chloe to a side hug.
Chloe would only notice that the hug, which hadn't made her flustered for no reason, nah, not at all, had made that another one of her dear band shirts was covered in the body glitter late that night, after parting paths. But somehow, this second time it didn't irritated her as much as the first time.
She couldn't figure out why.
a/n: hi, so this is my first time ever posting a fic, that is CRAZY. as i mentioned early i might make this into a small series, but it depends of how much free time i have which it's not a lot so we'll see
This but it’s when a girl says she isn’t a feminist when she’s wearing pants, receiving an education, talks about her dreams (owning a business, not getting married) etc!! It’s so privileged saying that when you are so fortunate
