Nova rolled her eyes. “Honestly Erik, I’m done with it. I’m over it, and I’m over you turning your emotions off.” It was true, Nova was over being sad, all that was left was the anger. “I’m here to tell you that you should check in on your eldest sister, if you even care anymore.”

Nova let out a small laugh. “I mean, more than I can remember. I forgot to get a costume, but then I remembered I technically have a closet full of them. It’s been quite a while since I’ve worn this, fits like a glove though.”

She’d normally call first but she was in the neighborhood. Knocking lightly on her sister’s door, she inhaled deeply. Azlee held her breath for a moment until Nova answered the door. “This is unorthodox. I know. I don’t just show up on doorsteps… but I need to borrow some of your time.” @novablackthorne​

Nova hasn’t really spoken to most of her siblings since Erik shut off his humanity, and it was quite lonely. There were parts of Nova that wanted to, and other parts that hated how she was treating them, but she didn’t know how to fix it, so instead she had been avoidant. Nova opened the door more for Azlee to walk in, “No, it’s okay, you’re welcome any time,” she insisted. “Do you want some coffee? Tea? I think I have a few blood bags off hand if you need that instead?”

Natalie was happy to accept the wine. It was very much needed with the current situation going on. “I know. People have been telling me I should try talking to him again… But I don’t know the right words to say that will bring him back,” she admitted with a sigh, sinking into the couch more and sipping her drink. “Have the others tried yet?”

Nova shrugged slightly. “I’m not exactly at a good place with my siblings right now,” she admitted. “He loves you, I can see it, it’s just the matter of getting through to him, but I really think you can do it.”

“Emotional support donut,” Nova repeated. “I’m good really, as much as I possibly could need an emotional support donut, they aren’t very much of an emotional support to me.”

Nova took a seat on the couch next to Natalie, handing her a wine glass full of blood, taking a drink of her own. “I don’t know what else to do, Natalie,” Nova said. “I don’t even remember how I brought him back last time. Do you have an idea of what to do?”

Nova was on a mission to find Vanya that entire night after learning from Natalie just before the dance that Erik turned off his humanity. It was always hard to find her daughter at these events, she had always been much more social than Nova. She tended to seem everywhere at once, and Nova was more of a wallflower. She spotted the blonde, and just as she was going to call to her, the lights went out and the chaos ensued. The lockdown happened so quick and Nova lost Vanya through the crowd. She weaved her way around. “Vanya? Vanya?” she said, trying to find the other.

Erik didn’t appreciate being man-handled but he had been expecting it from at least one member of his family that night, “Good evening, little sister,” He said first and then shook his head, “My mind has never been more clear, Nova. Is that all you needed to ask?”

“Probably because you killed all your fucking braincells, that’s why your mind is clear,” she hissed. “Sometimes I wonder if you ever think of the consequences.”

She had nearly forgotten that the dance was today. She had been focused on it for a while, making outfits for people and getting her own together, but it had all left her mind when she had seen what Erik had done. She shook her head at Nova’s questions about Erik hurting her. Honestly, it hadn’t even occurred to her that he may do that. Would he now? “No, he didn’t try to hurt me. He just did it. I was going to talk to him about everything, but he said I was too late. I just… How do we fix this?”

“I don’t know,” Nova replied. “It was hard last time, and it’s more up to him if anything, and my brother is one stubborn son of a bitch.”

“I heard about Erik,” Adeline repeated, “He hasn’t… hurt anyone yet, has he?” She asked. She wished she didn’t have to say yet but given his history, it wasn’t out of the question.

Nova shook her head at the other. “Not that I know of,” she replied. “I’m actually looking for my daughter to talk to her. “Have you seen Vanya as of late? I know she likes to bounce around at these festivities.”

But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling a little freaked out right now,” Charlotte admitted. “I didn’t even want to come, but I did because I hoped maybe it wouldn’t end in something bad like the other times. Natalie had already exhausted her usual methods of trying to deal with scary things. She had tried to comfort other people, tried to help with things, and even busied herself folding napkins at tables. Anything to keep her mind off everything else. But being locked in at the Town Hall left her unable to do much and eventually, the terror and worry caved in. She sunk to the floor against the wall, trying her therapist’s suggestions to steady her breathing. “Why can’t they just leave us alone?” she asked in a soft voice.

Nova had already found Vanya, and her next person to find was Natalie. She took a seat next to the blonde, grabbing onto her hand, softening slightly in demeanor, after spending nearly the whole event pissed at her brother. “I got you,” she said.
