The 7 Stages of Not Sleeping at Night
Every damn time
the truest post ever to be posted on the internet
These are my pieces for the upcoming Korra gallery show at Gallery Nucleus. My first time doing big prints of my stuff. The long one is 21” across!
I was going to not post the full ones until after the show, but then… I did. :D
Super excited for this show, a million artists whose work I love and I follow on tumblr have been posting their pieces.
Reblogging to say that first of all the show opens tonight, if you’re in the LA area, it should be a good time!
And also, the top image will be available as an exhibition print, so if you saw that and thought “boy oh boy I wish I had a print of Korra, Asami and some sky bison” you can now make that happen
AND ALSO, I noticed it got tagged with “#korrasami?” - you can take that question mark right off, of course korrasami. As a gay girl who worked on Korra, I will say that Korrasami is probably the greatest thing that’s happened at any job I have ever had. Korrasami forever.
The Legend of Korra / Avatar: The Last Airbender tribute show at Gallery Nucleus!
Woo hoo! This is gonna be awesome!
An old drawing that will probably never reach a further stage than this.. This is for all the fans who wanted a more canon drawing of kid Ghazan and Ming Hua! (compared to the head-canon versions that I usually draw)
I love how Ghazan’s mustache is already coming in.

Some of the sketches for my Avatar gallery painting.
The Legend of Korra / Avatar: The Last Airbender Tribute Exhibition opening is this Saturday, March 7th, 6:00pm to 10:00pm at Gallery Nucleus. It sounds like it will be crazy!
Love these!
Happy 10th Anniversary Avatar/Korra universe!! In celebration of this great milestone, Nucleus Gallery is hosting an art exhibition from March 7th - 22nd! http://www.gallerynucleus.com/gallery/462/exhibition/ Here’s my submission to the show titled “After the end of all things”. To me personally, this piece allowed me to revisit the Korra world once again after the last BG I turned in back in July 2014. Especially towards the end of production, everyone had so much work to do with so little energy left, that the only thing that kept us going was the love we have for the show and support from each other (thanks fellow Krew!). As BG designers, our final assignments were challenging because of the scale of Republic city and all the buildings that interact with the characters in the epic finale. It was tough but somehow we made it though (way to go Christine!). So to me, this was indeed after the end of all things.
The artwork is 11x14in and it’s done in Pen&Ink!
Come see the show!
Well, since everybody is posting their pieces… ^_^
Here’s my new watercolor piece for the upcoming tribute show at Gallery Nucleus. Looking forward to seeing everybody this Saturday!
The Legend of Korra / Avatar: the Last Airbender Tribute Exhibition
Runs March 7, 2015 - March 22, 2015
*Opening reception is this Saturday March 7th, 2015 6:00PM - 10:00PM
Here are the two pieces I did for the Gallery Nucleus show:
The Legend of Korra/ Avatar: The Last Airbender Tribute Exhibition.
The top piece is ink/ watercolor and the bottom piece is ink and marker. I chose to do a piece on Varrick and Zhu Li because Varrick was one of my favorite characters to draw on Korra. And of course, it's always fun to draw Team Avatar! Nucleus will also be selling postcards of the LOK Silhouettes I did a couple of years back.

If you are in the Los Angeles area, the Opening is this Saturday, March 7th from 6-10 pm. The show will be up until March 22nd. A lot of crew artists from both Avatar and Korra are participating. Hope to see you there!
Turtle-duck Date Night
This is my piece for the upcoming The Legend of Korra / Avatar: The Last Airbender Tribute Exhibition at Gallery Nucleus, opening this Saturday, March 7th, 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Mike and I will be there doing a signing for the first half of the reception (there are a limited number of spots in the signing line, but I’m not sure how they are working that), and hanging out for the rest. I think there will be a raffle, and plenty of cool stuff to purchase. A bunch of the crew members from the production will be there too (hopefully including some ATLA folks), so it is going to be a fun family reunion for us. I can’t wait to see all of the incredible artwork.
As for this piece, I used and modified Emily Tetri's production painting of Harmony Tower (designed by Lee Jung-Su). Otherwise, I drew and painted the rest of it. I based the turtle-duck boats on the charming swan boats I saw while visiting Ueno Park in Tokyo. Gallery Nucleus will be selling the above artwork as an exclusive print, in a limited edition of 100, to be released on opening night (and I’m pretty sure I’ll be signing them). I will be donating 100% of my share of the proceeds to an LGBTQ suicide prevention hotline.
I hope to see you Saturday! Get there early, as the lines for these Gallery Nucleus openings wrap all the way around a city block. If you can’t make it to the opening, the show will be hanging for two weeks. There is an event being planned for the closing as well. More on that later.

Preview of Evangelion attraction (Universal Studios Japan)
Aaah. Guess I'll just have to go to Japan again...
Preview of Attack on Titan attraction (Universal Studios Japan)
Aw man! If they brought this attraction to the LA Universal Studios, I might actually go.
The Legend of Korra: Book 4
Such a cool post!
Legend of Korra Key-Animation frames by Lee Dae-Woo (이대우) from Book 1: AIR (Pt 2) ! Episode 3 & 7: “The Revelation" & ”The Aftermath" ! The Historic/epic cut of Asami wearing Hiroshi’s electrified glove for the first time, before using it on her father (not persuaded to join the Equalists). Korra, Tenzin, Bolin and Mako bending vs Equalists.
#Brought back memories for sure
Guys, I don’t think you understand how incredible it is that we got this level of quality on an American TV budget. The system is structured to NOT allow shows to look this good, but the talented crew on Korra said “F that system” and did it anyway.
got dang. I think that was what made me saddest when watching the Korra finale: we’ll probably never see a show that looks this good on TV again.
A round of applause for Studio Mir, everyone. :-)
Animation by Fred Moore for an unproduced Mickey Mouse short around the 1950s. (x)
holy shit.
(Anyone know the original artist to give credit?)
