Still Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
It is a distinctive high. To have endured and completed a triathlon is undeniably an achievement to be immensely proud of. Imagine! Swimming the Mediterranean Sea! Cycling down an F1 circuit! Running until your chest dragged across the ground! Consecutively!
Why?
I asked myself, Why! Especially during the run, which follows the swimming and cycling, I asked myself Whyyyy am I doing this? If I was followed by a 15 meter monster, yes, I would understand why. If I was escaping war, yes, I would understand why. But, at peace, why would I want to race over 25 kilometers as fast as I can? I asked myself why frequently during the run.
When I ran across the finish line, my why’s melted and turned into tears that poured down like a waterfall. I was in utter disbelief over my accomplishment! Dehydrated, I really thought I was going to die. But as soon as I crossed the finish line, I was at the top of cloud number 1329! I was on a high unique from any other!
A major contributing factor to reaching this high was all the support that’s been coming my way and raising me higher. I’ve received multiple motivational emails from friends and teachers I haven’t heard from in years! I discovered new cousins who started following me on twitter, and met many new people through tumblr as well. My family, friends, and triathlon club members have been extremely supportive since the beginning of my training plan earlier this year. They were always very patient with me when I flexed my muscles in family gatherings, etc hahaha. I want to package all my fat lost, wrap it up in a red ribbon and give it to Farah my dietician because without the time we spent working on trimming my weight I don’t think I would have been fit enough to engage in any vigorous exercise, let alone tri!
My warmest gratitude goes out to the coolest company in Kuwait, Kuwait Hotels Company! I truly have not only the most understanding but also the most supportive group of colleagues backing me up throughout this journey. I’m grateful for my family of colleagues, and I cannot ask for a better organization to be part of. If their inspirational messages were not enough, today’s Caesar’s pizza surly Done it! I’m on a dough hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighhahaha
Note: yes, this is as neat as I can get for work hahaha :D
