"Synesthesia Of Jealousy" As I heard your mesmerizing eyes, I saw every detail of your voice. Your fluffy cheeks, I can taste your euphonious lips. Your eyes that holds his breath. I hold into your trust, But I always eat my thoughts. I can't stop punching my words, But I'm used to it. I just want to say I love you, Even when it hurts. @annereadsanddances
“August Rush” (2007) - Movie Critique/ Review
"You never quit on your music. No matter what happens. Cuz anytime something bad happens to you, that’s the one place you can escape to and just let it go. I learned it the hard way. And anyway, look at me. Nothing bad’s gonna happen. You gotta have a little faith." -Louis Connelly Music is very important in my life. Some say that music is our source of happiness and loneliness. For me, everything we do in life is like a song that touches us and comforts our hearts. Music is my life and without it, life would be plain as a paper. Life will be dull and boring.
Louis Connelly (played by Jonathan Rys Meyers) was the lead vocalist and singer of the band. He was also the frontman and writer for their songs. On the other hand, Lyla Novacek (played by Keri Russell) was a know cellist in an orchestra and both of them love and adore music. Both of them met at a party where they fell in love with each other. It was a fairytale but in real life, I think it's hard to find someone who also has the same hobby you have. Lyla's father Thomas Novacek (played by William Sadler) had to separate them in order for Lyla to continue her career in music.
Unexpectedly, Lyla got pregnant. They had a baby which is Evan Taylor (played by Freddie Highmore). I felt shocked because I didn't know that after the party, something happened. Louis didn't know about this and he tried to find Lyla but it was difficult for him. Thomas then gave Evan to an orphanage. Lyla was full of sorrow and Louis quitted his band.
Evan grew a strong and positive life. He was kept and later escaped in the good hands of Richard Jeffries (played by Terrence Howard). I slightly cried in this part because of how strong and happy is Evan even without his parents. Evan got lost but a monger kept him in an old theater where little musicians practice. He was so curious in playing guitar and later, he learned to play the guitar by himself. He was used by Maxwell Wallace also known as "Wizard" (Played by Robin Williams) who gets the money from the kids. His name was changed to "August Rush". In that situation, it was hard for him to make money but he played the guitar well and became successful.
After Wizard isolated Evan, he escaped from Wizard's hand and found a new home in a church near where Reverend James (played by Mykelti Williamson) sent him to a music school and later, he was invited by The Dean (played by Marian Seldes) to be the main performer of an orchestra event wherein jos mother also played and later, they found each other and even Louis, when they'd met in the park where Evan last played and totally escaped from Wizard. The family once again reunited and became one. For me, their love for music brought them back together as a family. It was wonderful to see Evan play and host the orchestra.
To sum it all up, Music is part of us. In every trial and every darkness, Music will never leave us. Music is our escape and comfort. Also, we should value our talents because we are all gifted and capable of things. Like Evan, he pushes himself to play the guitar and made a lot of people happy and relaxed.

Jack Prelutsky - Be Glad Your Nose Is on Your Face
Be glad your nose is on your face, not pasted on some other place, for if it were where it is not, you might dislike your nose a lot.
Imagine if your precious nose were sandwiched in between your toes, that clearly would not be a treat, for you’d be forced to smell your feet.
Your nose would be a source of dread were it attached atop your head, it soon would drive you to despair, forever tickled by your hair.
Within your ear, your nose would be an absolute catastrophe, for when you were obliged to sneeze, your brain would rattle from the breeze.
Your nose, instead, through thick and thin, remains between your eyes and chin, not pasted on some other place— be glad your nose is on your face!
“Be glad your nose is on your face, not pasted on some other place, for if it were where it is not, you might dislike your nose a lot.”
Like what they say, Be grateful for what you have. You don’t need to own everything on this earth because of Jealousy. You don’t need to be someone you’re not because of Jealousy. You don’t need to change yourself for someone or for someone you love. You need to accept of who you are and what you are. Through using the nose as a metaphor for something that we have in our lives, Prelutsky is able to illustrate that if our noses were in any other place it would not benefit us at all. He describes our noses as being ‘precious’ and important, and humorously places it in the most peculiar places around the body; the feet, the head and the ear. Prelutsky’s placing of the nose as being ‘sandwiched in between your toes’ evokes both an image of comedy and also discomfort at the thought of being ‘forced to smell your feet. And also, Prelutsky tries to compare ideas and thoughts that supports the meaning of the whole poem. He is trying to insist that you should be thankful and be still as what you are because you’re precious. Prelutsky utilizes the following sound devices: Alliteration: through, thick, and thin. Rhyme: face, place and Assonance: Were, where. Rhyme scheme is aa, bb. The meter is tetrameter. The speaker of the poem could be the poet. The bottom line of this poem is that, appreciate what you have. Never get jealous or dislike yourself, your face or your inside. Be happy that you are complete rather than you are different from normal. Be happy that, people who are around you, likes you, loves you for who you are and what you look like. You don’t have to be afraid of other people who judges you. You just have to prove and be yourself and face everyone that you’re unique and only one in this earth.

The common thing about the two pieces of literature partaking to “Footnote to Youth” and “When I was One and Twenty” is regret. It’s hard to think that we know how bad we are in decision making because, it affects everything. We tend to focus on what makes us happy rather than choosing what is better and beneficial. We are stuck at what is up for tomorrow and just go with the flow of time. We never envision the future that is ahead of us.
I agree with the truths because right now, I’m in confusion with decisions that are still left hanging off. I’m still afraid of making decisions because I always regret what I say and never learned. It’s hard to decide without the help of your family or advice from a friend. Sometimes, you’ll just end up realizing that it’s already too late because, you just let it slip away. Also, I’m aware that I still have this immaturity when it comes to these things.
I can say that it’s amazing how these two authors of the story “When I was One and Twenty” and “Footnote to Youth” authors: A.E Housemen and Jose Garcia Villa came up with a poem & story with something that we can reflect on and in our life. Majority of us still commit the same mistakes but we never forget to just ry and try again. It is a revealing truth for us and we still need to change. We just need to reflect, focus, and move our life. Move on from what is done and hope for what lies a head.

“There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.”
― Mahatma Gandhi
Many people around the world are very hungry. Many countries around the world need food to eat. And for me, I am very blessed that we always eat 3 times a day. We as humans, we have many and unstoppable demands that we need everyday. And as a human, my body need food and energy to sustain life.
The author used facts and examples to express conviction. And while I’m reading the article, I’m very shocked from what I have realized. Logical ideas were seen and got my attention while I’am reading it. I’ve realize that God really blessed me everyday, waking up everyday and rising from the bed, and really blessed that God always provide the food in the table and also blessed my mom that she always prepare the food that we eat. And also blessed that my mom doesn’t stop caring for us.
It’s hard to understand that some people don’t have anything to eat and also the action of the government is quite slow. It makes me sad that teenagers like me, eat food from mud or some from garbage, and that makes me upset that they cannot sustain food because of poverty. Sometimes, I make a point that I should pray for what I eat and pray for God to bless them, that God’s plans are bigger than what they are experiencing right now. And really, the author used persuasion really strong that it drove my heart and mind away. And, it’s really big thing that the author use persuasion very well and lucid.
For me, all the evidences and facts were visible and undeniably true. My mind woke up from realizing that, my pack lunch everyday is a blessing though the food that my mom always prepare is egg. That it is already enough to breathe and provide energy for my mind and body. I realized that we should not be discourage and waste food. And we should be always thankful to our God who uses our parents to provide money and food to eat everyday.
- Lawrence S. Ruedas
Have you ever thought about what its like to not have food? I am sure that most people do not have t
Instead of an Ad video, I guess it is better to just read a short essay about the topic “ Feeding the Hungry” then evaluate its ideas. :)
In 2-4 paragraphs, express your thoughts about the following:
* Author’s use of persuasion and conviction
* Author’s reasoning and use of evidences or facts as proof
“You can’t see ME!”
“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”
- Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV)
It is truly hard to understand something that we know is already done. We tend to forget everything we have learned from History and Moral being. Sometimes, we have this doubts that hinders us to accept the truth. And as a Filipino Citizen of my country: the Philippines, we need to show some respect and sensitivity of what we do. Be observant of what is currently happening around you.
We have this great plans and high-class infrastructure but it doesn’t fit around certain places. I’m disappointed from what’s happening between the Torre de Manila Condominium and the Rizal Monument and also the action of the government. This issue is not finished because of the government and the fellow Filipinos that doesn’t care about the issue. To be honest, we just want to react and throw our opinions then after that we don’t do concrete actions. Obviously, the government has the power and authority to destroy or build such infrastructures but I don’t see actions.
"Come and stay"
I know I've been selfish that much. And I didn't know how much I need you. I can't tell it that much how it hurts me inside. Coz i need you. And I need and I want. What we have is enough. Just say you love me, it's enough. I will do everything what it takes anything. I will do everything but it's not enough. It's not enough. I'm so sorry that I cannot tell you how much i love you. Baby, all that we have It is all that I have. Please don't take it away. And i knew you would stay. Would you stay? Say you'll stay...
“Dear, Jun...”
There once was a man named Joseph. He lived all of his life being dependent and using girls for pleasure. Then one day, he realized that he doesn’t admire girls. He realized that he likes men. And that man was his long time partner, Jun.

“Hello Greece!”
It’s been a year since I have traveled to Greece. Greece is a place where you can relax and have an adventure. I have realized that not only the land of the Greeks is beautiful but also their music and literature which inspired me to write about nature, love, and people.
The land of Greece always reminds me the true meaning of life and living our lives to the fullest. And also the courage to write about anything and to express your thoughts or feelings through music.
“A lyric is a cry whether laughing or tearful of the individual hear.”
Music
Early Greeks doesn’t have a medium to express their feelings. They express their thoughts by communicating with their family and friends. Some Greeks express their transfer it or change it into a song without lyrics.
Greeks, or to what people call “lyricists”, write songs that are also used in operas along with drama and epic. They base their patterns of long and short syllable. Also, lyric poetry is characterized by a great variety of metrical forms. Greeks are really open minded and abstract when writing music.
Literature
Of all the literacy works in Greece, Mythology was the most abundant among them all. It was their basis for random myths up until today. They even used it as a basis for their religion, and the very reason of why they were doing such things. Many writers whose names still ring a bell to the people live in the present generation.
Greek mythology, though, was the most used literacy more among the people of Ancient Greeks and even among the people from foreign lands. People were polytheistic: worshiping many gods at the same time. The Greeks lived in an old time where taboo for the present generation seemed perfectly normal for them so they tolerated what they had for the sake of their polytheistic beliefs. The Greek period was a very different time and era which led them to having that kind of mindset.
To sum it all up, their influence in music and literature has gave a great impact in our everyday lives. Their culture also has a great impact on how we value writing, speaking, and listening. Their influence in writing poems about love, nature, and culture brought out the true meaning of living life.
Greece is literally the best place on Earth. You’ll experience realizations and their culture. Try to read more of their poems and listen to the instrumental music they have produced. Try to learn and understand more about their beliefs. Greece and the Greeks literally explains the true meaning of art and discipline based on their own music, literature, and place.
