NSHG Films in 2014

Big things on the horizon for the National Super Heroes Guild in 2014! Time for an update!

The Ferguson brothers had a big meeting to plan out things to come this year.

Nathan has begun writing and is almost ready to shoot his new web series called The Hex Boys, following two modern day warlocks and their crazy antics.

Meanwhile, Douglas and Daniel are putting together the crew's most amitioous project yet; Blaze McGlory and the Freedom Fighters of Tomorrow, a space opera comedy in the spirit of Flash Gordon and Star Wars.

We've been submitting The Party Crashers and Last Man Alive to more festivals including Montreal's genre film festival, the Fantasia Film Festival. We're hoping great things will come from that. We've also submitted Time Traveling Dan to the Melbourne Web Fest.

We'll keep you posted on more things to come. Here is a teaser picture of the early designs of the Blaze McGlory characters.

Time to catch up on one old news...

I hate playing catch up, but it goes to show that output is enough that if I forget to update, I HAVE to play catch up.

Anyway, here is our Thanksgiving episode of Chubs For Charity 2.

We get predictions and then weigh-in our results.

My Roommate Sucks was a short that Daniel and I had put together a couple of years ago when for Halloween I dressed as Count Orlok from Nosferatu, and shaved my head to look more the part. We liked the make-up job so much that we wanted to make a short film around it.

So we came up with the idea of a short comedy where it's just about how crappy a roommate Count Orlok would be. It was a fun and relatively short shoot. Daniel edited it initially and when it was released we got a fair bit of positive feedback and it went on to be the video with the most hits on my personal Youtube channel.

While I like Daniel's cut of the film, there were some details here that there that I would have changed. It seems like I couldn't let it go so almost two years later I sat down and gave a go at it in the editing room. And while most might not notice too many changes, I feel much better about this cut, improving the overall tightness of the short and fixing a few audio issues I had.

So, here is the director's cut of My Roommate Sucks, I hope you enjoy it all over again.
