Nù Yan (English name Phoenix) is the daughter of Azure Lion and a fire spirit. She is a Nian, a fire lion demon. While most Nians' weakness is the color red, this IDIOT is color blind. So the best way to tame this insomniac goblin is with sugary treats (specifically Chang'e's famous moon cakes). This silly little lion has two fire rat demon pets named Tin and Tan.
Yan was blessed with the gift of creation by the Jade Emperor, a gauntlet that turns into any tool that will assist her in daily life. She is known as the Demi-Goddess of the Forge, being a blacksmith for Heaven's army for two hundred years, before she was trapped in The Tree of Salvation.
Nicknames for Nù Yan: Yanny, Yan-Yan, Yan, Phe, Phee-phee, Fire rat, sis, loser, sleepy flame.
