People seemed to like the Ninth House sketches I shared last time so I thought I'd share this drawing of Hellie and Alex as well.

How long did it take you to read the book?

Like a day! Ten-ish hours total? Maybe? I read fast, though, and I was on vacation so I got to just sit down and READ

Does Kit seem like an angsty Herondale? How does he compare to the angst of Will or James?

Kit does have a lot to angst over, but he wears less of it on his sleeve. He also tries to keep internal melodrama as limited as possible. Increasingly difficult for a guy in his situation(s).

One of the things I've liked about Kit since tda is how straightforward he is in the way he thinks and talks (despite the avoidant tendencies). His dialogue is almost sparse compared to characters like Will or Julian, but it packs a punch. There's something very lovely and grounded about the fact that he notices all these tiny details but doesn't have the grand monologues about it that some other characters (who I also love) do. The most profound things he thinks and says in tlkof are all like one sentence long! So it's not angsting in the traditional shadowhunter big speech way.

Is it mentioned who is watching Irene while Ty is away? It’s been awhile since I read the story where he gets her so forgive me if this is already common knowledge, but do people know he has a pet lynx or is it a secret?

If it's a secret, it's not a very well-kept one. Kit doesn't know about her, hilariously, but what she's getting up to while they travel is addressed

Does Kit know that Ty likes men? And does Ty know that Kit likes men?

You know, Kit doesn't actually seem to question that Ty might be queer/attracted to guys in general. He has a lot of doubts about whether or not Ty likes HIM. As for Ty - I cannot say

Did we find out why Ty has a picture of Kit's house in his room? Or can we at least guess?

Does Janus have another motive other than Clary? I hope he’s not presented as a flat, one-dimensional character whose sole purpose is to get clary because not only is he an extension (version) of Jace from CoLS (where he was an integral player in Sebastian’s plan), he was also complex in the Thule passage and the short stories.

He has an agenda for sure! It seems like his primary motivation is Clary, but there are some other fish in his fryer

Did you like Ash? I feel like everyone online who claims to have read the book has some negative feelings towards him and I would love your perspective.

I love that little weirdo. I think he and Dru should work things out and get married. Whether or not that means he's good or kind or safe is another matter entirely!

The flip side to the faeries liking Ash question, does Ash like faeries and living in faerie? I know we don't have his pov but there still things you can surmise from his behavior.

We don't really get to know this! Based on previous books/stories I think he's only ever lived in faerie and Thule, so - I would assume he prefers it to the hell dimension? It must be pretty miserable to be raised by people who want to use you as a pawn + surrounded by sycophants enchanted to love you, though.

This isn't really important, but does Dru have long or short hair? Because on the cover and in some illustrations it looks long, and in others is short.

You know, I have a notoriously terrible memory, but I think it's described sort of vaguely? It's never pointed out that she has super long hair like Izzy or Emma, but she also doesn't have short hair. In my mind it's sort of medium length - past her shoulders but not tumbling down her back
