Bruno had no problem talking to strangers on the street, he made it a habit when he was back in Passione running errands for Polpo even at a young age. Striking up a conversation he isn’t shy about. It’s just the feeling he’d seen this person before.
But no, he knew he hadn’t met him personally. Something about his features were familiar. Perhaps by some string of weird luck did Bruno meet a relative of his. He simply wouldn’t know. He couldn’t. Not without asking at least.
“Sir, could I ask for a surname?” Straight forward and without warning, simply how Bruno is. “It’s nothing serious, you look like someone I’ve met before.”

Settling into this new place has been fairly simple, so far, if only because little has gone wrong. Abbacchio has been contemplative lately, still trying to come to terms with what had happened during his last days. Though he hasn’t gotten any closer to making peace with it, it slowly becomes easier to sit with. Bruno’s presence keeps him grounded.
“It’s not bad,” comes his answer. The apartment itself is nice, but its proximity to a thriving nightlife is dangerous, he already knows it. Background noise of continuous parties will inevitably beckon him into bad habits. But for now, and since their arrival, he’s been good.
Abbacchio settles himself onto the couch next to Bruno, letting out a little scoff when he recognizes the book in his partner’s hands as romantic trash (though he calls it as such only in jest). He rests his head on Bruno’s shoulder and smiles contentedly.
He hums before asking, “are you at a stopping place? I was wondering if you want to go out tonight.”
Bruno is aware of Leone’s bad habits, with how close this place was to an open bar. He’ll be keeping an eye on him. Honestly? He had a lot of faith in Leone to behave himself when it came to trying not to go overboard with drinking. At least he hoped so, Bruno will help of course but his partner had to meet him half way.
And he heard that scoff that brought such an amused smile to his face. Bruno looked over at Leone, giving him a look that said ‘I heard that’. With a glance back at his book, he placed his bookmark between the pages and closed it, setting his trashy romance novel down on the end table and turned to pull Leone just a little closer, arms around the other man.
“I am now. Middle of the chapter, but I’ll know what’s going on once I get back into it,” he replied, pressing a kiss to the top of Leone’s head. “Are you proposing a date?” Bruno couldn’t help his soft smile. “Because I accept. There’s a few neat restaurants around here I’ve been told about and we could do a little exploring.”
“Oh my... I really like what they did with the place.”
It seems ordinary. Coruscation of glitter, ornamentation and trimming’s swaying with winter’s breeze, and holiday-theme’d booths as far as eye can see. It feels familiar. Like you’ve had experience among festival life. That can’t be true, though. The island’s are new and foreign where memories are concerned. Whatever the case, it looks entertaining. For a while, you wonder if, maybe, a life could be started here— however fleeting, you feel comfort. Like a home’s been returned to. Maybe it’s just the holiday season.
November’s latter days finish quietly. Citizen’s snuggling beneath comfortor’s lock, passing excitement, imagining what December may bring. The following morning, despite alarms + cellular devices alerting you to dawn’s beginning, you can’t help but notice how dark it is; if decoration goes uncounted. Others, too, have pointed out sun’s absence. Not only that, the heaven’s are alight with stars, as though you’re seeing Achilia’s true nighttime sky. You are. (Photo reference for oceanic view of sky, sans the sun.) Achilia has four moon’s? That’s a daunting, if not gorgeous, sight. Suddenly, mayor’s voice echoes across the districts.
“ Am I reaching you? Ooh, I hope everything’s working- so everyone needn’t hear me in their head, I created a . . . l-loud speaker? Is that what they are? My, Earth has some unique communication methods. A-Anyway, “ she coughs, not wanting to marvel at conveniences of the modern age too long.
“ I’ll speak forthright : we have turned off Earth’s settings. Until January 1st, with the exception of the electricity in your homes and the decorations around you, our island’s are going dark. It is alright, though. We thought it an interesting way of greeting the dawn of a new year, as such, until then, the sun will not rise. “
As always, miss mayor, what even are you talking about so casually?!

Cappuccino apartments wasn’t a bad place, he enjoyed the lively scene, though nightly parties would prove to be more annoying that he initially thought. Nothing like zipping off his ears would fix but he didn’t want to do that just yet. For now, the night is fairly quiet, with only the very faintest of noise echoing from somewhere in the neighborhood.
Bruno himself is half curled up on the sofa, a very cheesy Italian romance novel perched on a knee to read with a small cup of coffee in one hand to stave off the cold weather. He put on a pretty thick black sweater on for the extra warmth. The movement from the hallway he assumed caught his attention, placing a finger where he left reading he smiled at Leone when he entered the room.
“Good evening, Leone. How do you like the place?”
buon compleanno, bruno

Joseph is decked out in his city-given police uniform. It looks very nice on him, except he rolls the sleeves up at the elbows and wears his gloves all the time. He's got to show potential criminals what they're going to be dealing with if they're around.
Oh, and at his hip hangs a whip instead of a gun. Weird...but functional in his hands.
Speak of the devil. He witnesses a robbery across the street and leaps into action. Hermit Purple springs forth from his hand, snagging the robber around the ankles and pulling him towards Joseph. Unfortunately, this man was a handful and required two hands. Looking to his right, he notices a very interested young man. "Excuse me- stop struggling damn you- could you reach my handcuffs please?"
He's too busy to notice the familiar Stand user itch on the back of his neck.
Ah, a Stand user! He knew, he could tell and with the ask for help he just stared for a moment. Bruno had three options here; help the supposed cop which... He wasn’t too keen on, help the thief or walk away from the situation altogether. What posed as a problem was the fact that Bruno found this second chance at life a way to get out of gangs and getting involved with illegal situations. Growing up in a gang, however? It’s a bad habit. Leone probably won’t like it either way and Bruno had his fair share of playfully tormenting the local police if they happen to get in his way.
But this one isn’t, just apprehending someone who decided not to be a little more careful on stealing. Sticky Fingers’ ability seemed to only work on objects, much less people, however. More so, only if he’s involved. He could still walk away...
Yet the little mafioso that he grew up as won out and he smiled, reaching to grab the handcuffs he had and simply... Locked it onto Joseph’s wrist instead!
“My, all the drama tonight.”

The beach reminds him of Naples in a way that’s almost familiar, close enough to allow nostalgia on the occasion. Though Giorno did not visit the beach back home often—too many tourists for one, and sticking to the city proper made for easier business. He visits the one here more—there’s more time on his hands, more time to evaluate, the sort of time that was missing once he became don. Both because he was well and truly busy in that short time frame and because he did not allow himself to think too deeply about things.
He thinks maybe he sees a ghost in his moment of near reminiscing. But Giorno’s been here long enough to know the tricks and such the city likes to pull—the impossibly near miracles like bringing the dead back to life. That and he doesn’t necessarily believe in ghosts enough to warrant the appearance of his former capo during a weekly stroll.
“Bucciarati?” Name posed as a question spoken loud enough so the wind and waves don’t carry the sound away. Giorno digs his bare feet in the sand, a brief moment of contemplation, before ushering himself forward more to close the gap. “Bucciarati…are you well?”
Just one after another. Narancia earlier in the day and Abbacchio earlier before. Two he knew dead and theories bloomed about what this city could be. This one however, seemed sad as he turned to look at none other than Giorno Giovanna. The thought that this place was simply some afterlife--a purgatory perhaps played often and if true?
Were those sacrifices in vain?
“Giorno,” he replied, something akin to a sad smile falling into place so he didn’t let the fruits of his mind show on his face. “As much as I can be waking up here, I suppose. I’ve only been in town for a couple days at most,” Bruno said, one hand sliding into his pocket seeing as he didn’t quite know what to do with his hands at that moment.
The silence stretched on too long he felt. Indecision is very out of character for him but with this?
“I guess I shouldn’t dance around the subject. I’ve met Abbacchio and Narancia earlier on and well... Did you...?” Why was it so hard to ask. “... Also fall by his hand?”

Okay, he’s made it this far, and the worst for today is over. Hopefully. God, what a mess. Abbacchio draws a deep breath as he makes his way over, and releases it in a heavy sigh once he sits next to Bruno.
“It seems… We’re not quite through with our old lives.” He pauses as he draws a steadying breath and explains what he means, “There’s someone here who wants you dead–and he wants that very badly,” is how he starts. It’s straight to the point, and tactless, but Abbacchio has never been good with words. “Surely you remember La Squadra? Well. Their leader is here–Risotto Nero–hell, he’s practically our fucking neighbor, and he’s holding one helluva grudge.” It feels like an understatement, given his recent hazing. “I. Truly fear what may happen, should you two cross paths. So… please… be careful.”
Nothing like dying to get out of the mafia. Bruno watched Leone briefly, marking his place in the book he had, closed it and set it aside so he could keep his attention on the other. The news told to him is worrying. How did Leone find out and was he alright? His blue eyes trailed to the ruined deep v-neck his coat held, noting the disheveled wrinkles as if someone grabbed it. His eyes narrowed, dangerously but only briefly before he brought his gaze back up to meet his partner’s.
“Briefly met again. He’s the one Narancia and I went to check on when those knives were thrown but it wasn’t by him. We suspect it was Diavolo. Narancia had killed him though unintentionally. It’s only a guess but I imagine he was trying to kill the boss while we were trying to find out who Diavolo was,” Bruno replied, resting his elbow on his knee, chin on his hand.
“I suspect he has a lot of... Vengeance trapped in him between us killing his team and unable to kill the boss. Given I’ve killed two of his I don’t doubt it,” he sighed, now moving to fix his hair. “I’ll try my best, thank you. Are you alright?”
