A ‘Ring of Fire’ solar eclipse is a rare phenomenon that occurs when the moon’s orbit is at its apogee: the part of its orbit farthest away from the Earth. Because the moon is so far away, it seems smaller than normal to the human eye. The result is that the moon doesn’t entirely block out our view of the sun, but leaves an “annulus,” or ring of sunlight glowing around it. Hence the term  “annular” eclipse rather than a “total” eclipse.

Look at what came in the mail! Katherine Fogg, one of my best friends, adds to her Works Published list with "When Silence Screams". This is a collection of personal journal entries that chronicles living with bipolar disorder and social anxiety. I hope to publish my own journals one day, so this shall be a wonderful and inspiring read for me. Katherine, my dear friend, I am beyond proud of you. You've taught me so much over the past few years, and I feel another lesson is waiting for me between these front and back covers. This is a magnificent step you've taken. With "When Silence Screams", may you reach out and touch the lives of anyone and everyone who can relate to the wisdom, experiences and adventures you've bled onto every page! :)
