Hroza — A long-deceased monkey from the long-vanished Storm Monkey clan. He died more than a decade ago in war. Boa can no longer remember his face, yet she sees its echo in her grandchildren.
Boa — The former matriarch of the Ash Monkeys, who has stepped down from leadership due to her advanced age.
Dede — An elderly monkey who once ruled the largest forest clan on the island. He once fought Boa in single combat. With time and age, his once-mighty clan gradually split into smaller factions led by his children, and he remained under the care of his youngest daughter. His fur grows irregularly, and he has patches of baldness from old age.
Komo — A representative of the Fire Monkey clan. He is currently on the dangerous lands of his native clan.
Yakey — Her rank has fallen due to her withdrawal from clan affairs and for posing a direct threat to the Immutable Commandments by sheltering the shadow of a dead Beast.
Oppa — A descendant of the Storm Monkeys. She is not bound to any clan and roams the island freely for most of the year.
Beyo — The current leader of the clan. He returned home after Boa stepped down from leadership. Hot-tempered and resolute, Beyo adheres strictly to the Commandments that ensure his monkeys’ survival.
Ausa — Originally from the Forest Monkey clan. She followed Beyo to his native clan, bringing along her frail father and her son. She now holds the second rank within the clan.
Chayu — Born at the end of winter. Life faded from him like the last snow melting away.
Orra — Despite her blood ties to the clan, this adolescent has been distant and withdrawn ever since her mother left on a journey.
Onno — Somewhat tactless, very brave, and dreaming of one day taking their father’s place.
Issu — Not as confident as he wishes to be, unlike his father and sibling. He seeks courage in reckless acts that his inner voice desperately warns him against.
Oin — Not born into the clan, cautious and gentle. Despite his imposing appearance and being the largest among the youth, Oin is exceptionally peaceful.
