Anders and Ser Pounce-a-lot.
The New Crew
FALKOR.
He has noticed the shock on their faces and the exchange of glances but decided to ignore it. All he had to say, he already did. Beyond that, he still felt he wasn’t ready to share. What those people cared for his tragic life story? He didn’t like to spill his troubles so easily. Well, maybe once he was more talkative but some responses were quite traumatic for him. So he just learned not to.
“Yes, sure, show me.” He smiled at the black haired man, already ready to move on. “See you soon, Fandral.” He said to the bartender, making a half-smile.
(I hope you don’t mind I’ll run a bit further, unless you have something else you wanted to write there.)
The place took itself quite seriously. He wasn’t allowed on the stage immediately. It took him a week and half of long repetitions and practice to be ready to perform.
It was a Monday evening, a little after nine o’clock and the club was already more than half-full. He wasn’t the first to perform, a few more experienced dancers warmed the crowd for now. He could hear the music till here, the backstage, where he currently was. He was next to dance before all the women and the men that were there. And as a new guy, he got a stage name, after all he couldn’t use his real name there. After a short debate, Marcus decided it’ll be Jaimie, since Falkor reminded him the actor from the popular Outlander series.
Falkor was quite nervous under the golden sparkling paint they left on his face and shoulders, recreating Celtic like ornaments. He was wearing a green and black kilt and boots. The redhead made a few calming breaths. He could do it, moves perfectly learned until now.
Hearing his stage name, Falkor stood up and went for the scene. As he has figured out, there were many curious eyes, hungry to see him moving. That he could do. Dancing was something he could do very well.
The music began; beat of drums and Falkor began to dance.
♔—- During the earlier performances, Loki never usually watched. It wasn’t that he wasn’t interested. Quite the opposite, really. There were a lot of beautiful and talented performers employed by Click-Clack and he enjoyed 90% of them, but getting into his drag tended to take quite a bit of time and planning. It was the hair and makeup that took so much time. Sometimes, Loki got really ambitious and used some orange powder primer on his skin to block out his tattoos before dressing himself.
Today was not one of those days, though. He couldn’t say he was fond of hiding his ink. The art on his body was meaningful to him and it was there for a purpose. He didn’t really like being told that he needed to cover up, but sometimes certain gigs required it, modeling photoshoots, usually. On occasion, he did it on purpose for a certain look or a certain effect that he was going for, but as a general rule, if he didn’t have to, he wouldn’t.
His current outfit didn’t reveal much of his actual skin, though. Once he had his padding in place and his makeup done, he slipped into a black bodysuit made out of what appeared to be leather, but was actually a shiny material with faux scales printed into it. It had a matching hood, which was lined with bright green fabric on the inside. He wore a pair of pumps to match the neon green, which took him from 6’2” to 6’7” in just the time it took for him to put them on. His last accessory was a belt that wrapped around his synched waist in the same green color. The outfit was simple and covered most of his flesh with the exception of his exposed neck, face, and hands, but it was form fitting and breathtakingly gorgeous in the way that it hugged all of his curves, real or fake.
His makeup was also unclockable, done to resemble something almost alien, complete with a metallic green lip and eyelids to match. The look was completed with an extremely short, dramatic bob in an inky black color, not unlike the color of his actual hair. If it weren’t for his incredible height in his shoes, he definitely would have passed as a real woman and, half the time, people never really questioned whether or not Loki was a woman if he was out in public in drag.
He did, however, make his getting ready process a bit shorter than usual, though, because he wanted to get a chance to watch Falkor perform. Tonight was the new guy’s first actual performance and Loki came up beside a much shorter woman who introduced the acts as they stage show rotated performers.
“Hey Inka,” he murmured, settling himself next to her. He looked nearly twice her size in his heels. “Has Falkor gone on yet?”
“He just stepped out,” Inka informed him, motioning to the man who had just begun dancing. “You haven’t missed much.”
“Guess it’s time to see if this guy has what it takes to make this a career for himself, eh?”
“Thus far, the crowd really likes him, but that might just be because he’s very attractive,” Inka pointed out with a soft chuckle, but they both watched the dancer work. “Wow,” she added. “He’s actually really good.”
“Yeah…” Loki murmured, following Falkor with his eyes. “He is actually really talented.”
Confidence growing with every breath he has taken, with every move, Falkor slid all over the stage. He has had their ultimate attention, he knew he did. It could have be seen in their eyes, in the approval and wanton expressions he managed to catch here and there. Some were even cheering, cheerful and loud. All of it told him his dance was a success. He was a success.
He would be a liar to say he did not enjoyed that. To be looked at, to be admired and wanted. Even if it was for a short time. It provoke a response out of him. Sometimes Falkor thought he was living for those almost surreal moments. When he was the star of the story and everything evolved around him. From outside nothing changed, he kept his face cool, with a trace of a seductive smirk, while his body kept its graceful, precise movement. However, inside he was giddy with him being noticed, warm and wishing for more. To be loved, even admired, to be looked at with adoring eyes, to be…worshiped.
Pathetic wasn’t it? It was nothing like his real life. Nothing at all. He wasn’t a movie star or something so shiny and grand. All he was is a broken man with a hole in his pocket. The reality has no shine, only daily struggle and uncertainty.
Quickly pushing the sour thoughts aside, the redhead stopped, even not sweating when the music went down. On the finishing note, he ended on his knees, like he was practicing, back and head slightly bent back and exposing the sparkling column of his throat and the neat lines of his upper body. That move has definitely earned more than a few appreciating whistles. The crowd loved the view, it was clear.
The redhead stood up, flashing a wide smile to the people and left the scene. Another person stood near the entrance to the stage, already waiting for his turn. It was a tall blond man Falkor saw here and there before. He smiled at Falkor and gave him a “thumbs up” gesture, clearly friendly towards the redhead. Falkor smiled back, this time more genuine.
He didn’t remember this man’s name, was it Greg? Gregory, perhaps? Falkor was bad with remembering names. Yet, from what he had to see at their daily practices, the guy was very good. A professional ballet dancer and he moved as if he was born to dance through this life.
A half hour or so, after the blond man finished his number, the pretty, a female voice (the same who invited him on the stage), has announced a break. Falkor remembered her voice; she was the one to introduce him and the others who have performed.
The break meant for the performers to mingle with the guests. They were to be nice, to entertain the people, getting them to spend more on drinks and to persuade them to come again. Even to private dance for a client, if someone would ask for it.
The last one still made Falkor a bit nervous, but he remembered, dancing meant only that, no touching was allowed in the club. He could only hope none will require such a service tonight.
Planting a pretty smile on his face, Falkor and the others stepped down the stage and made their way between the many people. Somehow, his gave found the pretty, short woman who was sitting next to the stage. Next to her sat a very tall woman he wasn’t familiar with. Falkor remembered her voice; she was the one to introduce him and the others who performed. He managed to wave at her before he was caught into his first conversation with club’s quests, a group of young women. Oh, they do knew how to ogle a guy.
I was supposed to continue with my Loki portraits (I have a few more to finish), but this one escaped me and just wouldn’t cooperate, so I had to change the idea I had for it.

“Respect to Nature.”
Humans adapting themselves to nature rather than forcing other species to adapt to us. This is what we must do in the Anthropocene. Trees are the most important three dimensional structures of many ecosystems, and they are the central design features of most permaculture gardens. They provide many products and services to other species, from housing to food (acorns, insects, pollen), shade and shelter from the wind. We ought to respect their importance.
THIS IS WHAT LIFE SHOULD BE AM SO FUCKING ABOUT THIS
