Lechaeum
The air of Corinth smelt and tasted of salt, much to be expected of a coastal city state but it was a smell that Megara had never thought would fill her lungs. Who would have thought that selling your soul to the lord of the underworld would result in fantastic sight seeing opportunities? Yes, if there was one thing the native Spartan could list as a pro to selling your soul it was the opportunity to travel. Sure, it was to do the dirty work for a rather disgruntled God of the dead but it was so much better than being stuck in Thebes.
Yes, walking up and down the port of Lechaeum, looking for a certain man that Hades wished to posses all day was much better than roaming the streets of Thebes, being grabbed at, mistaken as a woman of the streets or better yet, watching the man you sold your soul for prance around with another woman.
"Did you find them yet?" A slithering voice hissed from the shadows of an alley way, she felt the fur of a harbor rat brush against her ankle. Panic, no doubt. "Not yet. There are a lot of ships coming in. Not to mention he couldnât give me a hint as to what port they would be docking in." Megara spat, obviously annoyed by the sudden disgusting intrusion to her otherwise beautiful scenery. "Master wants him by the end of the day." Another voice chimed in as a second, more plump rat joined the trail of the other. Pain. Megaraâs lip peeled up in disgust at the feel of the dirty fur before she kicked at her feet, nudging the unwanted intruders away from her sandaled feet. "And it will be done by then but not if he keeps sending babysitters." She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms under her chest, ignoring their disgruntled mumbles before retreating back into the dank alley.
It was still much better than sitting around in Thebes.
Fierce, strong, independent - How about you join me?
"What an enthralling offer.â Meg sighed, rolling her eyes towards the man. It wasnât an offer she didnât normally hear rolling off the tongues of men and thus it was getting tiring.
"Itâs really much too bad that I already have an employer."Â
