Hello, i'm Lee Mayell a photographer who lectures at North West Kent College. I have worked here for around ten years now with a great team of photographers who enjoy tutoring our photographic trainees. We help young photographers develop the skills necessary to become professional artists and further their educational careers onto Higher Education or progress into the photographic industry as Professional photographers.

What do i want out of photography ( Paul's Last words)

I wanted to become a great photographer and a great teacher. However upon reflection, I could not care less about becoming a great photographer. I feel that my great purpose in this world is to become a great teacher– to share information, knowledge, and to continue my passion to contributing to some greater good. Of course I would like to take some amazing photographs and i strive hard to compete against myself (and not others) and become the best photographer I personally can be. However at the end of the day– I would say I am more passionate about education, philosophy, and sociology than photography. I feel that if anything– photography is simply a practical outlet in which I could express my views of the world. Also on top of that, I've noticed that the greatest artists and photographers in history have often had horrible family and personal relationships. I have also had a horrible history regarding personal and family issues. But due to this my biggest priority is to my own family. I used to want to become rich, famous, and a great photographer – but over time I've relized these things pale in comparison to the love i feel for my family and being a Dad to my wonderful children. Ernest Zacharevic (Lithuania/Malaysia)

Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic turns the corners of towns into a brilliant series of interactive murals. He first creates a setting mixing paint and real objects in an ordinary alley, then invites people to interact with this scene and takes pictures of their propositions. The goal is to guarantee the consistency between the setting and the participant to make the scene as lively as possible. Since Zacharevic was given the mission to embellish the Malay city of Penang, he settled there and spread his participative art through the run down streets of the city. His interactive murals have become a landmark in Malaysia. (cf. Street art community)

Wedding photographer Eric Ronald captured a photo of a lifetime for one New Zealand couple, Belinda and Campbell. As a surprise for her soon-to-be husband, before the wedding, Belinda arranged for a helicopter flight so that right after the ceremony, the two of them could soar over a lake and land on top of a mountain.
