A change of tactics, helped Barbara catch a further three fish after lunch. The icy wind seemed to drive the fish down deeper, but as usual, there was no place to hide from Barbara.

Sue’s lemon and polenta cake was a hit at lunch time. We also enjoyed Cath’s tasty lemon sponge at lunch and for afternoon tea. These ladies are both talented anglers and star bakers.
Fly fishing yorkshire dales. Helwith Bridge Fly Fishery offers fly fishing and fly fishing lessons near Ingleton and Settle in the Yorkshire Dales.
Helwith Bridge 2016
Saturday’s event saw 10 of our members meeting up at this popular fishery. David always makes us very welcome and a grand day out was had by all.
Vee’s delicious victoria sponge cake with a cream and lemon curd filling went down a treat this afternoon. She claimed not to be a baker but this is clearly evidence that Vee’s been flying under the radar with her baking skills. She has really set the bar high with the first bake of the season.
We are looking forward to Sue’s bake when we meet at Helwith next month.
Why does cake always taste better from the boot of a car?
Fly Fishing at Kilnsey Park Kilnsey Park Fly Fishery is situated in spectacular surroundings. The two spring fed lakes are both approximately 1 acre in size and are open all year round, fishing well throughout...
We had a grand day out at Kilnsey today for our first meet of the season. As always, we were made very welcome by Stuart.
Several of our group were unable to make it due to illness, and post op convalescence and other commitments but a dedicated group did make it, dressed in several layers of thermals. The weather stayed dry and there were even moments of sunshine.
Lunch in the café was a good opportunity for a chat and defrost over a lovely hot meal.

A brief history...
We formed North West Ladies Fly Fishing Group during 2011 with the intention to get ladies to fly fish together at various venues and feel comfortable fishing in the company of other ladies. Several events have been organized during the last 4 years which were well attended and were enjoyed by the participants.
If you have never fly fished before and fancy having a go then please get in touch and we will be happy to help you learn this fantastic sport in a totally relaxed atmosphere.
All ladies in the North West are most welcome to attend and there is no joining fee
Vanilla and chocolate cupcakes.

Kilnsey - October 2015
We met for our last outing of the season at Kilnsey Park. In total we landed 47 trout up to 8lb. A good time was had by all.
Everyone caught fish – including the trout equivalent of Lazarus who rose again and made a valiant escape attempt. Cath had other ideas! She had plans to introduce that fish to her new fitted kitchen!
As usual, we gathered for a tasty lunch and a good chat. It’s always good to get to know our newer members.
After catching some more fish, we were all in need of some cake. Star Baker this month was Hazel and her cupcakes were delicious.
Bara Brith.
We gathered at Helwith Bridge on a lovely Autumn morning - without thermals this time.
We are always made very welcome at this venue and we all enjoyed a good day's fishing, a chat and of course some tasty cake!
