i thought i’d let you know of a really fun way i learnt to read tarot intuitively. this is a great tip for beginners, but even as a professional reader i use this sometimes to boost my skills and connect deeper with any decks i’m using at the time.
all you need is a deck of your own (preferably one with strong imagery) , and a place where you feel peaceful.
firstly, shuffle your deck as many times as you like, and in whatever way you and your deck prefer.
then, cut your deck into two piles and place them side by side.
now, draw two cards - one from each pile - simultaneously. look at the cards. don’t worry about the traditional meanings, just really look at the cards and compare them. what do you notice?
do you notice similar colours, similar positions of the figures, or are there total opposites and juxtapositions?
if you find a link between the cards, awesome! you can either just move onto another two cards, or write this down. however, writing it down may defeat the purpose of the exercise. this is to train your eyes and your minds eye in noticing when certain cards in a reading may be related. you don’t have to learn combinations off by heart!
over time, you’ll notice that you pick up on subtle differences or similarities in cards, to the point where you understand why certain imagery is used and why two completely different cards have popped up in crucial places in a reading. you won’t find yourself stumped over a placement anymore!
