99% perfection

She was the perfect trophy one could want that night. 

She was black, long, silky hair falling over her shoulders like waterfalls. She was a long layered burgundy dress that hugged her white milky skin like a mist when she walked. She was coy smiles, and gentle movements, and soft words. She was the perfect escort for Sunghoon at that very moment. A perfection he demanded and she performed. 

But in that perfection, there was a flaw. A small, miniature flaw, that no one seemed to notice. Because she was not to be the main attention, and not everyone followed every small move of hers. She tried not to be daring, not to make it obvious, but she also found a guilty pleasure in trying. Trying to steal a glance at the tall intimidating male at the other side of the room, trying to subtly move and talk to a woman that was right behind him. And, oh, he would notice. He watched her every move, but she was just a tool he needed and that was the only reason he would do so. 

And the glares she would catch, those would be born from the hate towards the man she escorted. Nothing else. Only that.

“You’re overdoing it.” she heard his cold, blaming and harsh voice as she walked back to the ball room and fixed her bracelet. She had walked out to take some fresh air, and no one told her a thing. Seunghood didn’t tell her a thing. She looked ahead, not at her bracelet, and saw Woobin’s glare. He was not pleased, but is this not why she did it all? Mischief. The one trait to the persona Sunghoon wanted, that she added on her own without his consent.

“Overdoing what?” She asked with a sweet smile and raised eyebrows. “I have no idea what  you are talking about, sir.” his features hardened. It took Nana a long time to notice those small changes, since all Woobin ever did was glare or scowl, but she learned to notice how his face would turn more sour when he was displeased, or angry, or annoyed. Which of the three she managed now, she was not sure, but his mood was getting worse, surely. She looked down and chuckled, starting to walk ahead again and passing by him. Her index finger managed to brush against the skin of his hand and she whispered “I’m doing my job.” without faltering her steps or looking at him. She was doing her job. Acting in a way to annoy him was just a bonus she performed for her own amusement that night. 

And maybe because, she wanted to earn his attention. She wanted Woobin to notice her too, not just Sunghoon.

                   — The blonde might’ve not realized it yet, but she was an actress. Her life was a series of lies. Her profession revolved around embracing different personas, pleasing others, and becoming who they wanted her to be for the brief time they paid her. She was similar to him in more ways than both were able to see at this point, but the male knew by now that she would serve his purpose well. He was more willing at this point to put effort into this mission than he did when he first saw her. 

                   The end of his left brow twitched-it was the only part of his body that moved when he was surprised- when Nana snatched the sketch book away and sprinted across the room with her stack of papers that she held as if she was a pirate holding onto a map to a treasure island. As skeptical as he was in general, Woobin did not think the sketch had any meaning other than the obvious fact that she thought about him, which was a no-brainer since he was in her thrashed apartment. 

                   Her reaction made no sense to him, did she think he was going to tear the paper? The man breathed out an exasperated sigh and rolled his shoulders in a shrug as he continued picking the larger pieces off the floor, and noticed as he did how she remained still at the door step of the other room. Out of curiosity, he walked to her and had a good look at the room from his position behind her —she was not tall enough to block his view. “Seems like your visitors take their masterpieces seriously.” He commented sarcastically.

When she heard his words, closer than she had believed he was, her hands gripped at her sketch book in a way that crippled the sheets of it. But she didn’t mind at that moment. She didn’t think at that moment. The only thing she felt at that very moment was her heart hurting and her eyes stinging, and she did not want it to overfill her. She had to tame it, swallow it. But it hurt her so much. 

“You cannot kill what's not your creation...” the female murmured, more like a lull to calm herself, than as a reply to his comment. It was something a senior of hers in high school had said once when they found the art room in a mess. She didn’t even remember what it was about, or why it had happened. It was so long ago, and the girl had completely forgotten such a thing had ever occurred. Until now.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before she reached with her hand to the door knob and pulled the door shut. She could not handle this. Handle fixing all of this. It would be better if she moved back at Madame’s house for a few days and called some service to fix this for her, because she couldn’t do it. Another breath and she spun around, meeting the frame of the male that was apparently right behind her. “Can you move, please? I want to get out of here.” she said softly, not being able to look him up in the eyes. Her powers of concealing reached that far after all.

                                                                    How laughable! 

♞         — Woobin thought to himself as he pretended to not pay attention to the facade she has put up, the girl had some skills worthy of an applause. When she saw him a while ago, she had to exert a lot of force to control her trembling body yet she was feigning strength now in a situation where she should be shaken. Instead of being disappointed, Woobin was pleased, because it meant she was a tool worthy of investing in to bring down his target. 

                  “You need to clean the place before you injure your feet obviously.” He threw a careless look at her as he picked two drawers that were knocked out of their places and overtook her to return them in their place. His thick brows knitted where they met as the piece of wood in hand did not slide in place like it was supposed to, the male crouched down to check what was in the way to realize a piece was broken and stuck in the pathway of the little wheel’s path. Woobin grabbed a pen from the surface and fiddled with the little piece until he removed it and slid the drawer back in its place. He dusted off his hands, eyes darting momentarily in the blonde’s direction, but they fall back on scattered papers on the table that he had just fixed. He reaches for the open page of the sketching book and pushes the pile of pencils and brushes off it to confirm what he thought it was. Woobin stared at the drawing; piercing eyes downed with thick shields above them. They looked angry, intimidating, and mesmerizing. 

                                                                     Impressive! 

                  He caught himself thinking and he pretended to not have realized those eyes were his, but he had to confirm whether the owner of the drawing caught him seeing it or not.

Nana just stood and watched the male for a moment before she looked around herself and the mess. Her heart hurt just looking at everything. She didn’t care about the cups and glasses, and the plates. She cared about the ripped drawings and broken brushes and about the now scratched from glass photos on the floor. Maybe about the later less than about the rest, but she cared. 

The blonde cast one last quick look at the male, and at the view of him holding one of her pens she quickly turned her back to him, deciding not to mind it. She would buy new ones (even if those may have been new, or ones she loved). Instead she crouched down and went on to gather yet more broken cutlery from the floor, because he may have been right (he was right), and she had to clean before she cut herself. Her body was how she earned her living expenses, as bad as it sounded, and she needed to take care of it. Needed to not injure it and bring up questions she did not want to answer later on. Needed not to create a situation she would have to lie about. Nana was a good actress, a skill that required lying, but that was acting. Not lying - acting. And Nana hated lying.

She threw the gathered in her hand glasses and inspected her hands for any scratches. Once she saw none, a small smile crept up her lips and she looked in the direction of the male, wondering what he was up to now after he probably ruined one of her precious pens. And when she did see him she froze. Her hands still held up in some mid transition from clap to lay next to her body, her eyes completely blank. Of all the things— Without really knowing how it had happened, Nana was across the coffee table with the sketchbook cradled in her hands. “That’s personal.” she said, walking past the male and hoping— praying he had not noticed, because she could not explain it. She tried to explain it for herself, but she could not, so there was no way she could explain it to him. She did not think much as she walked away from him, just wanting to escape with the sketchbook in her hands, and reached for the doorknob of her small haven, opening the door to what would shatter her more than anything in the house. 

And that was the view of her art room in complete mayhem.

                                                                  Perfect!

The apartment was a creative artwork of disaster and chaos, it instilled fear and worry in whoever took the time to appreciate the art, his men did well. Woobin masked his appreciation for the damage done and his satisfaction with the state the blonde escort was in. He chose his steps wisely to avoid stepping on any of the broken pieces scattered on the floor. He picked one of the glass pieces from her hand to examine it before throwing it in the trash bin that he adjusted with his feet. 

“So your common sense tells you to contact the one person whom you think is involved in damaging your home…” He paused to let his words have the effect he wanted them to then he looked at her. “You called me because deep inside you, you know it’s not me.” 

                                                          Lies. 

It was his forte, he knew how to put the pieces together to fabricate a believable story. He does that for a living. Woobin stepped away to walk around the apartment, it was a cozy apartment. “What is the police doing? I got here before them…” It was a rhetoric question, he could guess the answer, but he needed her to say it to make a point. He won this the moment she chose to call him.

At first Nana chuckled at his words, soon after the chuckle forming into a laugh. She herself thought, that she looked insane from the side. She was scared, but she was laughing at his words, like they were the most hilarious joke. “Deep inside, you say?” She asked, still laughing, but ignoring to look at him for now. He was right, and all she could do was laugh, because she wished, believed, hoped he was not behind this. She called him because deep inside, somewhere hidden even from herself, she held trust in this man she barely even knew. She wished, believed, hoped, knew that somewhere under all the scary looks and piercing gazes he was not all that bad. Or she was just deluding herself into thinking it. Deluding herself into knowing it.

She left him to examine the state of her apartment while she got rid of the broken glasses in her hands. As the broken pencil slid off her fingers, Nana’s lips turned to a scowl. This was turning into a problem she had to find a way out of. Even if her methods were reckless, stupid or foolish... or all of that at the same time — her problems were her own and she had to find a way out of them. No police, no Sen. Her and her alone. “I didn’t call the police.” She said, crossing her arms on her chest and finally looking up to the male. Nothing was stolen. She didn’t even have anything valuable here to begin with. The refrigerator, the oven and the TV were the most expensive possessions she had, and all of them were here. “I don’t want unnecessary problems.” of course this will bring problems to Nana. The tall man most probably knew that she couldn’t just call the police for a trashed up home. Who would even benefit of doing that to a girl, who on documents is not properly employed anywhere? “Then, if it’s not you, who could it be? ... What do I need to do?” 

Nana had to solve this on her own, but she was replying on the man most logically to be the cause of the problem. “I don’t even know...” she muttered to herself, her hands going to her head and her eyes looking at nothing at all. Her life was not like this, it did not involve such complicated situations. Sen would be mad... She was in deep trouble... That’s all she could think of properly now.

I was contemplating whether I should say this or not but~

Okay, first before I say that thing: Sorry, sorry, sorry I am dragging so much. I am struggling a bit with portraying Nana, because... well, she is my most kind muse so far, so it’s a bit hard not slipping some snarky/sassy remark. Second, I am completely serious, I had days off and was going to brainstorm replies, but my internet got cut off for 3 days. AND last It’s my muse’s, Taeyeon’s and ironically my birthday today, so yey for me! I turn 24 (don’t think “damn she is old” okay?) and I will prolly not be around for 2 more days before I try another attempt at “let’s write!” (and fail).

So, yeah, guys have a wonderful day, because I am having a really cool day myself! o/

He looked impressed when she quoted from the literature, escorts from the madame’s house were not like any others indeed! “I see you’re quite the reader it seems.” He smiles when her hand touches his nose and holds her soft fingers to press them on his lips in a loving manner. “It makes me happy to hear you say that, I’ll make sure you don’t regret it.” He keeps her hand in his and holds his glass to hers. “To a more trusting kitten.” He adds playfully.

“Depends.” Nana replies to his praise with a smile. She was not one to read War and Peace on her off days, but it was not like she had no books at all. She was no classic, but she was a reader of sorts. Her eyes follow his movements closely as he kiss her fingers. It’s all empty words, it’s all pretend intimacy, she tells herself as she lets the blush creep up her cheeks and doesn’t even try to hide it. She bring her own glass up, lightly clinking it against his. “To the one determined to help with that.” she says, playfully, and gives him off a smile before she takes a sip of her glass.

So you trust me to keep your secrets now? What happened to the kitten who believed no one could be trusted? -his digits had taken the liberty to enjoy the softness of her facial skin and tickle under her chin-

“All the world is made of faith, and trust, and pixie dust.” Nana quotes from Peter Pan, but gives off a strained smile and shrugs her shoulders. She is ticklish from his touch, but with a bit of self-restraint manages to keep from laughing out loud. Instead, she just moves her head to the side and lets out a sound similar to a purr. No wonder he always calls her kitten. “It doesn’t hurt to try it once in a while. Maybe something will change.” She then says, reaching her hand to tap at his nose.
