There is still good in this world. Popped into Golden Krust to get a patty. Witnessed the man in line in front me pay for a meal and drink for a stranger who was asking for something to eat.

What happens at Coney Island on the last weekend before the park closes. Oh, and Halloween.

One of the great things about the farmer's market in Union Square is the range of items you can get. Today's pickup: brussel sprouts and a 24oz baggie of organic, hormone free chicken bone broth. Fall is upon us!

This weekend's getaway from the city was to the Poconos, PA. More specifically the Lehigh River in Carbon County to do some class 3 white water rafting with a dam release. 13 miles (20 km) of rafting. 4hrs. A little nerve wracking for a first time. But fun, sun drenched, and tired. Definitely hope to do it again. The above are some picturesque photos taken in the Delaware Water Gap, PA - Raymondskill and Dingmans Falls.

I’ve dealt with a lot of NYC challenges. But never had to deal with killing a roach in my living space. EVER. It’s disconcerting going to the bathroom in the morning, turning on the light and seeing this massive bug perched on the shower ledge. Two attempts at crushing it with a shoe were unsuccessful as the bugger (no pun intended) scurried out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. Got the damn sucker, but not before being totally traumatized.

I’ve been told countless of times that it’s a “NY thing". And my colleagues were actually surprised that I’ve never had an unwanted guest in my apartment.

Yes it’s been an incredibly hot and humid summer this year, and apparently roaches thrive on those conditions. And the owner of my unit suggested that I let the exterminator come in for a spray on his next round. I’ve never had to do this before. But I do know that other people in my building have used this service, and I have also witnessed evidence of these critters down in the laundry room/basement, lifeless bodies stuck to traps on the cement floor.

Roaches in NYC are real, people. They are real.
