Our latest live recording in the Coach House saw local dudes Hedge Fund come in and deliver ‘Object of My Affection’, with ridiculous ease and precision.
Frontman Will Colvin describes the track as “...the almost schizophrenic distortion of reality that can happen when someone thinks they’re in love with someone they don’t really know...”.
The song is awesome, the video is awesome, these dudes are awesome - check them out live as soon as you can.
In April the incredible Gin Wigmore dropped by for a performance in the Coach House. We captured this stunning rendition of ‘Black Parade’, from her forthcoming release Blood and Bone.
We kicked off our 2015 Coach House sessions with an absolutely gorgeous set from Megan Washington and her lovely bandmate, Alex. They performed 5 tracks for us, including 'My Heart Is A Wheel' as captured beautifully in this video by Nylon's multi-talented Simon Lister. Huge thanks to Megan and Alex for performing for us....

Nylon composer Scott Langley discusses the process of working with Tina Arena on the David Jones Christmas campaign. Scott arranged and produced Tina's recording of 'The Things We Do For Love' for the spot.
The 2014 David Jones Christmas campaign features a gorgeous new arrangement of 'The Things We Do For Love' and the vocal stylings of Tina Arena. The music was arranged by Nylon composer Scott Langley and the recording was produced by Mark Beckhaus, all in house at Nylon Studios. Tina's involvement in the campaign was negotiated by Nylon and we also worked closely with her label, EMI, to time the release of the track on iTunes with the launch of the DJs campaign (get it here!).

Nylon hosted an enthusiastic group of Year 10 students from South Sydney High School this week as part of the ‘Creativity in the Curriculum’ education initiative. Devised as a program to assist in addressing key issues facing young people and employment, particularly in marginalized communities, I-Manifest launched this innovative learning programing in conjunction with The Department of Education, South Sydney High School and Clemenger BBDO in 2014.
Working with Nylon composer Blair Joscelyne and engineer Simone Stockl, the students were briefed on a project for which they needed to compose and record a piece of music to be used as part of their campaign presentation later in the week.

Nylon hosted Brooklyn's Monogold last week for an acoustic performance as part of the Soho Sessions. Hailing from Brooklyn, Monogold deconstructed their usual electric, dreamy, shoe-gaze sound for the set.

Violent Soho were awesome at the Manning Bar last night in the first of their 3 sold out Sydney shows. Aside from taking us to grunge rock heaven for 45 minutes, their guitarist James Tidswell (above) also reminded us of ZZ Top, which in turn led us to venturing into a ZZ-youtube-wormhole, which reminded us how frickin' good this song is:
