Small Pets Are Not Toys

Never buy an animal on impulse. You are toying with life.

Store bought cages are very, very rarely large enough for your pet

Never give a small pet to a child as a gift.

Never leave a small child alone with a small pet.

Fish do not belong in fish bowls.

rabbits do not belong in cages.

store bought bird cages are too small for any bird larger than a finch.

chinchillas and rabbits live from 8 to 14 years.

Some reptiles will only eat live feed. Are you prepared for that?

Small rodents and rabbits can die of heart attacks when scared. Do you have a quiet home for your new pet?

I’ve never seen a ‘guinea pig cage’ that is a suitable size for a guinea pig to live in full time And ‘guinea pig cages’ being marketed for rats and ferrets because they have one small platform and ladder? Bullshit.

Don’t walk into petco, petsmart or another pet store that sells live animals and let yourself be fooled by pet stores who keep animals in disgusting, cramped conditions. Or petstores who market cheap food, claim small animals don’t require vet care, say something along the lines of ‘oh, they can eat anything!’ Etc. Do your research. Never trust petstore employees, those animals are products to them.

Every single domestic animal on this entire planet deserves proper living conditions, a healthy diet, at least one companion of their species (if they are social animals), vet care, mental stimulation, time outside their enclosure (accepting fish, of course), and freedom from pain and stress. If you can’t provide all of these, do not adopt an animal.

There is no ‘just a fish’ or ‘just a hamster. Chances are, if these phrases leave your mouth, you’re ‘just a neglectful/abusive person’.

*chinchillas can live longer than 14, sometimes up to 20 years.

And please DO NOT PICK UP RATS (or mice) BY THEIR TAILS. CARRY THEIR FULL BODIES IN YOUR CUPPED HANDS WITH THEIR FEET INSIDE SAID CUPPED HANDS.

Also please keep rats with at least one other buddy. Rats are very social animals and can easily suffer from depression through loneliness. Your human company is not enough for rats.

The stuff they sell may not necessarily be good for the pet regardless of what they say, so DO YOUR RESEARCH. Even if it says for ferrets, etc.

Marshall’s is one of the worst foods possible.

Those sugary treats are not good for them either.

The big thing is pine and cedar bedding for small animals. Wood bedding can cause respiratory damage in small animals.

Ferrets shouldn’t be placed in those giant balls. They cause a ferret to have spine problems because of the unnatural position it makes them in.

Bottom line: DO YOUR RESEARCH

I’m going to add unto this with the pet store employee content:

-Do your research before you ever step foot in the pet store. Make sure you know and are prepared for proper care for this pet. YouTube is not research. Facebook is not research. Seek out references verified by veterinary/behaviorist/biologist/nutritionist/etc. resources.

-If the employee tells you that the thing you’re buying or doing is good, do your own research to verify. If they say what you’re doing isn’t great, LISTEN. Many are uneducated (as the info they receive is limited and often wrong in the name of more easily selling product) and when even they know what you’re doing is harmful to your animal… ouch. A few are very educated, including former veterinary staff, dedicated hobbyists, and some trainers who chose to work for a corporation because it fit their needs. They spend all day trying to get animals’ bare needs met with minimal stock of actual good products and customers who treat animals like toys; if they’re telling you what you’re doing is wrong, it’s likely not just “not the best” but rather actively harmful to your pet.

-Do not, for the love of God, buy companion animals from a pet store or “retail rescue”. You want a ferret, a rabbit, a rare exotic, or a specific hard to find breed of dog? Do your research and go to a responsible rescue or a good breeder. Breeders aren’t the devil. Mills that neuter ferrets at >8 weeks, then ship them to live in glass cages in the middle of a busy store through fear periods? They just might be.

Nightmare before Christmas XD: Killah Bunnah In Da Hell

Yesterday I bought Xmas gifts for Ronnie,Lamb and others. And have a nightmare again.

In my dream there was Friday night and I shifted in Coloplast 1. I explored a secret stairway to the secret cave. I left my plate with the samples and went down like Indiana Jones....crossin' the Rubicon again.

-Nyusszy what do you search here? -questioned Sally Marsh. -Do You wanna kill everybody?

- Don't be stupid ! I don't wanna kill nobody. That's not a business and party for me. What the hell can I start with dead foes?

- Leonard said you're a murderer and you want revenge on everyone!!!

- Leonard is goin' to fuck off then go to the Hell!!- I answered.

- We are in the hell sweetie!- said Annie.

- Wow,Hell is more exciting than Heaven. - I said, then sat down to the leather-armchair then put my stamp on the table with my keys.

- I wear my Uniform and You are here in your pretty gothic dresses. So weird .- I looked around and Supermodel Lucia Lefay laughed off me.

- Where are you now Bunneh?- my shift-supervisor arrived here.- I'm waitin' for You with your samples and You should pack off the products from the machines. Come Little Bunneh come!!! When You finish, You can return here.

- And what the Hell will happen if she kills Leonard and his bride? She's a bloodrabbit!!!-asked Sally Marsh.

- She won't slaughter anybody.-answered my boss and get a chocolate from the first-aid outfit and gave me that. -Eat your sedative pill then come to workin'.

We went back upstairs but we found ourselves in the middle of the capital city. Everybody from the A-Team were here.

- Hang out girlz for a black icecream. -said someone from the Coloplast Bunnies.

- Yeahh, I have investigated where's the black icecream. Come on Rabbits.- I said.

My supervisor laughed.

- Yeahh You can investigate everything, whateva is prohibited..

Then I woke up again....

Went to the work...

And have spent the shift in Coloplast 1...

Fortunately I haven't got any problemz and secret ways....
