partyfallen:
“no harm, no foul,” fallen said, her usual loud volume briefly taking the backseat. on the inside she felt like she was dying but she managed to keep it off her face for the most part ( which was surprising considering neither aaliyah nor fallen were known for being able to keep their emotions in check ). “i, uh, always seem to remind somebody of someone. i can never tell if that’s a good thing or not. i guess with a dead person its not so great… ” she said, idly twiddling her thumbs as her breath trembled. she had no choice but to play stupid; her livelihood and well being literally depended on it. fallen forced herself to face her sister, offering her a faux friendly grin. “i’m fallen, by the way.”
“hm.” nyah couldn’t bring herself to look away from aaliyah’s face. she’d aged well over the past six years, but she couldn’t keep herself from imagining her fourteen year old sister standing before her. the grin that ‘fallen’ offered her made nyah want to throw up. “i don’t care.” she plainly stated, rigidly walking past the shorter female to get to the bar to pour herself a tall glass of whatever the fuck would make her forget this interaction in the morning, making sure to steer clear of hitting aaliyah’s shoulder. she didn’t want to touch her. she didn’t want to even look at her right now. the sight of her was enough that nyah felt lightheaded. “sorry for bothering you.” she was sorry, but more for herself than for her sister.
