Hi there! Fishy here. My other main blogs are @nyxigill and @saltwater-goldfishy and this is a sideblog dedicated to the story I’ve been developing, Love Letter Inn! It’s slightly connected to the lore of a roleplay AU I’m a part of, the PK Academy AU (go check it out if you’re interested!) although the context to that story isn’t necessary to understanding this one. Read a little bit about it below the cut!

Love Letter Inn is a slice of life, character-focused piece which follows the protagonist, an aspiring delinquent, as she’s employed at the namesake Love Letter Inn. There, she meets a cast of eccentric characters, described by Yukiyo below:

Each one of them will go on their own personal journey and arc, helping each other along the way. But… that’s once I get this fully written. Right now, it’s just a concept- but one I’m very dedicated to and fleshing out, and would love to share with all of you!

Some weird ass old lady who keeps insisting she’s “staying in the inn temporarily” with her kid while her husband “takes a lucrative business contract out of town” and she “house hunts for a place near him,” whatever the fuck that means. Maybe I’d believe her if she didn’t sit in the tavern at fucking midnight wearing ‘jewelry’ I couldn’t pawn off for shit (and I tried) to apply for jobs and ask me what a sweet innocent little girl like me should be doing up at this hour. I’ve got a better question for her; has she ever said anything correct literally once in her life? I don’t know- someone could place a glass of water in front of her and she’d insist it’s a beautiful bright blue ocean with rainbow dolphins swimming around and giggling in it or something. I mean, the old man could too, but at least he’d say it’s some stupid fucking complex metaphor instead of the objective truth. The objective truth is that not only is every word that spouts out of her mouth fucking bullshit, it’s also creepy as hell. I swear, that woman could star in a horror movie as the monster- and not even in a cool way.

Toshimitsu Denya:

A kid as dense as a black hole. Are black holes dense? I don’t fucking know. I don’t care. I think he mentioned that black holes were dense when he looked up from one of his adventure books to cling onto my pant leg, make some dumb joke about boogers, and ask if I knew of any hidden treasure near the inn. That kid still has a lot to learn about how the world works if he thinks finding power and treasure is as easy and fun as digging a hole next door. Hell, he probably couldn’t even get to next door without tripping and falling then getting distracted by a bug or some shit. He’s basically a bug himself, the way he stumbles from person to person to buzz in their ears about some fact he learned in school, or how we should play hide-and-seek, or about how awesome whatever adventure he’s convinced he’s going on is, or how annoyed he is that the old man’s out of peppermints. That last comment usually only lasts for about a day- I’ll give my.. employer this; he’s good at restocking. He’s also good at satisfying Toshimitsu’s endless desire to change both the subject of conversation and the course of action every point five seconds.

At least, that’s what he’s forced us to call him. He calls himself a “nomad, wandering wherever the winds take him” and this hellhole “one small stop on his greater spiritual journey.” I don’t know what the fuck he thinks he’s yapping about- this pathetic loudmouth’s “spiritual journey” thus far has reaped nothing but stupid quips, a rock collection which he filled two suitcases with moving in, an album of mediocre guitar music, and quite possibly the worst book of poetry I have ever seen. Seriously- if I listened to anyone’s dumbass opinion, it would be that of the publishers who rejected him. I have no idea how or why the old man tolerates his dumbass readings about how tragic it was when he hit that deer with his RV and still decides to pay him to be a chef- I get through his yapping by remembering that, at the very least, he’s the only person in this place who knows how to cook a decent meal.

Yoko Takeuchi:

I hope her livestreaming career kicks off so she can quit her 9-5 and move the hell out of this inn as soon as possible. Or that this place is no longer of use to me, and I can leave- because holy shit, I have not gotten a single nights’ worth of decent sleep since she’s moved into the room next to me. She spends most nights yammering away to her viewers at full volume while playing some stupid fucking video game. And, when she’s graciously not doing that, she’s either huddled in a corner of the tavern, running around and yapping at the top of her lungs about the gaming setups she’s planning on buying when she can afford it or some shit, or kicking her legs on a table while listening to some podcast or some shit instead of me telling her to do her fucking laundry, because I can smell her unwashed hoodie from a mile away.

A prime example of why I refuse to join any sort of gang. I don’t even know why she started coming here without her gaggle of bitches- they’re basically her entire personality. When she’s not talking about some one-night stand she had or a guy she’s ‘talking to,’ she’s talking about them- their petty squabbles, their scattering all over the country for job opportunities or some shit, their dumbass drama over who’s going to be maid of honor at their weddings.

I can’t be bothered with shit like that. I don’t know why she is- no, I do! She’s a shallow, conniving bitch who would cry if her 20000 Yen nails were chipped.

Zimo Yuan:

Some old guy who comes up to the bar to drink until the other geezer switches out his whiskey for the non-alcoholic version three drinks in. Despite not being allowed to get drunk off his ass for some stupid reason, he yaps like he is. He’ll go on and on for hours on end with the same ten stories about the prehistoric days, when Yuan was some famous writer and director of some famous show. I think it was called Towers Of Galactica (a name I wish I could forget), and it ended twenty-something years ago. But apparently, the geezer I’m in employment of really liked it. That makes sense- it seems like the kind of sappy thing both written and enjoyed by old saps who won’t stop yapping about shit no one cares about.
