So it’s been two years on this blog. No big deal. I’ve only, I dunno, drastically improved in my writing, met the coolest people on the planet, worked through a whole bunch of personal shit, and had a two-year-long fucking blast screaming into the void of the internet about the Legend of Zelda series. Nothing too interesting. Ha. Chillin like a villain on this blog has brought me a ton of joy and gratitude and just general incredible feelings – it’s hard to put it all into words, because it all just seems unreal. It honestly feels like I started this loser’s blog a few months ago, but nope. It’s been a full twenty four months. A good two years. A fifth of a decade. Hylia help me.
There is no way I can express the sheer rush of emotions that I have when I think of Link, or Twilight Princess, or the Legend of Zelda series, or this blog. It’s just too much for any one language to handle. But the thing I feel most, I think, is gratitude. Because if people hadn’t supported me from the get-go, if people hadn’t clicked on my blog with the vague notion of interest in their minds, then I never would’ve developed Link to the extent I did. I never would have explored this series to the depths that I did. I never would have found all the friends I have now, if they hadn’t decided to give my little blog a try. So without further ado, I’m gonna go get sappy about the people who have stuck with me since the beginning, and the people who have come along for the ride.
pxntmercy : hi jill. ur a nerd. But you’re also my best friend??? And that is honestly because you’re a nerd. I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t have followed you if I hadn’t gone on your blog and saw that you were a giant nerd, because I know nothing about Les Mis or Marius or anything. But dang, am I glad that our stupid nerdiness brought us into a beautiful best-friendship. You’re so damn passionate about your characters, even if sometimes you have to take absences, and you’re such an amazing and talented artist ( and boy does your passion bleed through into your artwork ). I am so thankful to have met you and to be able to talk to you every day through the marvels of modern technology. You’ve never ceased to amaze, and man, when I kick ass and go to space, I may be seein’ a lot of stars, but you’re gonna be the brightest one out there, my dude.
grishildr : JESS. Honestly, thank Hylia for your existence, because you are actual queen. There are so few people who manage to grasp the complexities of a titular, semi-mysterious character like Zelda, but you have always had it spot on. And not only that, but you’re a worldbuilding fanatic. It’s been so great writing wit h you and talking to you, because we make a pretty dynamic duo. I know that if ever I have a wondering about the continuity of the Legend of Zelda series, I can bring it to you to dissect and scream about. And it helps that our characters are matching tragedies. Basically, thanks for existing???? Because I don’t know what Hyrule would do without you.
