I am seriously considering getting the AO3 logo as my first tattoo. Like genuinely, one I think it would lowkey be funny, and two I fucken love fanfiction.

I think I'd get it on my ankle or wrist. Just so its not to visible were everyone would ask constantly what it means, but not too hidden were baddies who do know what it is will recognise it.

I literally would have THRIVED before phones became the centre of all communication. I literally despise texting and phone calls, I'm the type of person were I'd much rather just speak to people in person every once in a blue moon.

I was in this antique shop the other day, and it had this box full of postcards. One I read was from someone who had been on holiday to France I think, saying it had been a while since they had seen whoever they were writing too and that they would send them an email when they got back home.

Let's drop snapchat guys and start emailing and sending eachother postcards.

While making it, I realised I don't listen to many pink albums.

This album was so present during a major change and milestone in my life. It's one of those albums that will forever stay with me. Hearing said album live in March acted as a sort of celebration and reassurance that what I had chosen to do the following day, was okay.

With me starting my second year of uni soon and other recent changes, I thought that it was only right to revisit this album in its entirety.

The Mountain

Arguably the most emotionally moving tracks within the album. It's so uplifting, really just remind you of that feeling of beginning. The start of something unknown and new but in a good, refreshing kind of way.

The Moon Cave

I can envision the short film produced for this song in my mind. The song and the film are a spiritual journey. The Moon Cave embodies a journey of self-reflection and personal growth. It makes me want to boogey, definitely one of the catchiest tracks.

"Maybe I should just wait, just a little bit/ Forgetting bothers me"

The Happy Dictator

I remember when this was released as a single the day before my birthday funny enough. It's fun. Hearing it live was an absolute blast. Months prior my english teacher had recommended me Sparks and to be honest I never did check them out (I still really haven't) but what a funny coincidence. This song I hold closest to me both in what it is says, the illusion of care and authoritarian regimes. But in that it simply reminds me of my first months of uni. It brings me back to the autumn walks back to my uni dorm and lectures, in my mind I'll always picture that short path to my dorm building with a tree in the centre. Awesome.

The Hardest Thing

The main thing I remember of this track was the peoples dislike for it online, really its just a set up for Orange Country. It's there to prepare us, much like how in the background we are aware of death but once it strikes we don't recover straight away from its blow. I like the trumpets at the end.

"You know the hardest thing is to say goodbye to someone you love That is the hardest thing/ And when the curtains rise and the party begins/ Do you laugh?/ Do you break down inside/ Wondering how you got to the afterlife?"

Orange Country

The only song I've heard on the radio from this album, unsurprisingly may I add. I've fortunately not experienced any grievances within my close family but when this happens, hopefully not for a long time, ill play this.

The God of Lying

In all honesty, since the albums release I never really paid much attention to this track. My only exposure to IDLES is that one time Anthony Star wore a band t-shirt of theirs. My lack of attention of this song isn't because I think it's bad, it's great just not my personal fave.

The Empty Dream Machine

Yes. I feel like I'm going to float away whenever I hear this track. I need to break free from my routine, create something, do something, see something. Expand my mind.

The Manifesto

Play this in the club chat. Trueno is simply amazing, grateful to have seen him live.

The Plastic Guru

Literally only realising they sampled Lou Reed in this track. I remember during The Mountain Tour, Damon spoke briefly on how they had incorporated artists no longer with us into the album. I never paid much attention to it cause I was more focused on seeing him in the flesh, but going back now and realising what he meant is truly amazing.

Delirium

Now this NEEDS to be played in the club. Disconnect in the digital world. Another instance where I'm vaguely introduced to an artist that I later forget about and are then reminded of them through this album. In this case its Mark E. Smith from The Fall, which I only know their song Totally Wired from a compilation cd by Pulp for a magazine I bought either before or a while after the album was released, I can't remember.

Damascus

I remember when this came out as a single, I tried getting my friends at the time onto it but they never really trusted my music takes, their loss. The dj at shindie needs to get onto these tracks cause I'd love to bust a move to this in the club.

The Shadowy Light

All I can say is that, this song is simply magical live. Everyone with their flashlight on just enjoying what's happening together.

Casablanca

Similar to The Happy Dictator, this is one song I've currently had on repeat. It doesn't hold any significance to any life events or anything, its simply just my favourite. I also didn't realise how many tracks Johnny Marr was featured on. Who I would like to add, is also amazing live.

The Sweet Prince

not my favourite, still great nonetheless!

The Sad God

Now this song I remember purely through the listening event and the live show. It simply the greatest ending to the journey the album takes you on, making us self-reflect and the world around us. We take the world around us for granted. It invites us now to think beyond and wider, our world is dying because of us.
