*Knowing The Word Of God*

When we Bible believers say 'the Word Of God Says "... " ', we usually quote from the Scripture or from the Bible. It is important to note the truth about 'what' the Word Of God truly is.

Is *Jesus Christ* the Word Of God?

Is the *Scripture* the Word Of God?

Introduction:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (Jn1:1)"

Definitions:

Scripture simply means 'sacred writings' and the Bible simply means 'a book regarded as authoritative in a particular sphere'.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. (Matthew 22:29)

Clearly the scriptures existed before Jesus Christ. The scripture refers to the Old testament writings of the Jews (which are categorized into the laws and the prophets). The whole purpose of the scriptures was to announce or testify about *the One* to come, Jesus Christ.

Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found *the one* Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” (Jn 1:45).

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” (John 5:39)

It is not the scriptures that have the Eternal life of God, but Jesus Christ.

To the Bible, it is 'a book regarded as authoritative in a particular sphere'. The Bible is the book of Authority unto 'Redemption' ( from eternal death).

(ii) *He* is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and *his name* is the Word of God (Revelation 19:13).

*The Word Of God is a 'HE', his name being JESUS CHRIST*.
