🚨 🆘 🇱🇰 SRI LANKA NEEDS HELP 🇱🇰 🆘 🚨
Sri Lanka has been hit with its worst flash floods and landslides in 20 years in the wake of Cyclone Ditwah that made landfall two days ago. The banks of the longest river have burst, the reservoirs and flood control bunds are overflowing, entire towns engulfed three-storeys high, whole suburbs being evacuated as the water levels continue to rise. The death toll is over 150 and climbing, 78,000 people displaced, highways washed out, roads impassable. The country has ground to a standstill as rescue workers scour the waters for survivors and shelters go over capacity trying to offer food, medical aid and dry clothes and bedding to thousands of families. International news outlets are barely covering the climate catastrophy, most instead making us an endnote in their coverage of similar floods in Southeast Asia.
Sri Lanka is one of the poorest countries in the world that went through a historic economic crisis in 2022, defaulting on our sovereign debt. We have been painstakingly restructuring our debt and crawling our way back to solvency ever since. Everything we have built back is now being washed away. We need money and resources for the thousands of internally displaced families, especially to combat the infectious diseases and epidemics that will follow the floods.

Cyclone Ditwah Flood Relief Sri Lanka
November 29, 2025 | Vajra Chandrasekera
Cyclone storm Ditwah has hit Sri Lanka very hard. The toll of the dead and missing are climbing; tens of thousands are displaced.
These are the official government accounts for donations in any foreign currency.
Amalini De Sayrah is maintaining a list of current appeals for help with bank account information (Google Doc). This doc includes instructions and screenshots on how to use Wise to donate from outside the island.
All of the below are smaller, on-the-ground relief initiatives that I trust and personally vouch for. Most of this is geared toward people in Sri Lanka or with connections to the island, but if you want to help, anyone can donate from anywhere—Wise.com lets you donate directly to a local bank account, and any of the below are a good choice. See below for Wise instructions, though it’s pretty self-explanatory.
Carestation works in multiples areas as well. Bank account information and updates here (Instagram) or on their website.
Marisa De Silva is running point on a number of flood relief initiatives. Contact her to support directly. Phone number and updates here (Facebook)
Update: You can now donate via Venmo! Hasini* has a Venmo link here, which will route through Saritha Irugalbandara in Sri Lanka for medical supplies and other necessary essentials.
All of the above relief and mutual aid efforts are (sadly but fortunately) experienced, having done this before a few years ago during Sri Lanka’s economic crisis. So you can rely on your donations getting traction on the ground asap. Please do help if you can.

Please donate if you can. If not, reblog!
JayVik X Silmarillion au
Okay, so i have no idea how many people will follow my train of thought on this one but here we go!!
(it’s silmarillion canon-compliant if you squint really hard, also, Viktor said in all timelines, in all possibilities, so this one is on him too ig)
- Jayce was born in F.A. 438 in Hithlum
- His mother came from the Haladin, while his father followed the descendants of Marach and lived in Dor-lómin under the House of Hador
- Jayce’s father was a skilled craftsman, this granted him respect and favour from both the Noldor who lived in Hithlum and the Men of the House of Hador alike
- Like his father, Jayce excelled in various crafts, the most prominent one being blacksmithing
- Although Viktor’s parents were Nandor from Ossiriand, at some point they wandered and settled in Nan-tathren
- Growing up in the desolate meadows of Nan-tathren led to Viktor developing a strong connection with and great knowledge of living things, herbs and trees, and animals, even enchantments. While living near the waters of Sirion, he sometimes heard the voice of Ulmo, which often helped and guided him
- Viktor is a talented healer who uses both his knowledge of nature and Songs of power
- Through one of his dreams, Ulmo told Viktor to head north, as his aid as a healer would be needed to save the new hope that shall come from the House of Hador
- Jayce and Viktor first met in F.A. 458, ans despite the odds, immediately took a liking to each other
- Jayce was the craftsman who created Viktor’s brace, which he had to wear after a severe leg injury, that couldn’t be fully healed, even with Viktor’s and other physician’s skills and knowledge
- Sorry to tell you that, but Nirnaeth Arnoediad still takes place in this au, so Jayce is wounded in the battle and takes his final breath in Viktor’s arms while the latter tries his best to keep him alive but fails
- The new hope, the person Viktor’s supposed to save, is still Tuor. Viktor is the one elves who help Rían after the battle, but when the child is born, Viktor decides to follow Jayce
I read the title (have ONLY read the title so far), and am doing the reblogging equivalent of sliding into the room as if my shoes are greased, sidling up to you, and going:

I know everyone and their mother has talked about the music in this series but I've been wanting to make a post about it for so long so here we are. To all the composers involved in this project, I love you all so much.
So. Viktor's theme, huh?
One of the music producers at Riot said during a conference that many of the characters have a theme of their own, and other interesting things about Zaun and Piltover having a different musical "footprint", and how they bleed into each other during season 2 (!), and I think we can all agree that Viktor's theme is the single most recognizable character theme of them all. (Very easy to spot here at 0:36, during the Toy Boat flashback)
At the beginning of season 1 we hear it often, loud and clear and happy, resolving in a major key ("It's Viktor" 1:00 ; "Our Hextech Dream" 0:45 ; "They think, they adapt" 0:11).
As the season progresses, and so does Viktor's condition, we stop hearing the major key resolve in the second half, keeping a gloomy, minor key tone. (1:35, when he faints in the lab)
As far as instruments go, there isn't an instrument associated with any particular character: most of the time we'll hear strings, or brass instruments, for pretty much everyone.
There is however one exception to this:
The Arcane
The only "character" defined by a choir.
The first time we're introduced to the arcane is in Jayce's flashback with the mage, where a choir (with no particular melody yet) plays some notes in the background throughout the scene. We can hear Jayce's theme too here (1:46)! His theme is much harder to spot, I personally have heard it in only two tracks. :')
The second, as expected, is with the Hexcore.
Towards the beginning, from about 0:14, we hear Viktor's theme again, but this time it is sung by a choir. Viktor's blood has already merged with the Hexcore, a part of him already lives within it. And as if the foreshadowing wasn't enough, this is the image on the screen while it plays:
Heimerdinger's vision of the dangers of Hextech, the "magic in the wrong hands" he was talking about at the beginning of the season, framed in a blood red galaxy. The best example of this is this track, Viktor's final experimentation and Sky's death.
Right at the beginning we hear Viktor's theme sung by a choir, then by a violin (0:19), and then by a choir again (0:33). A classic call and response, a dialogue between the Hexcore, literally calling Viktor's name, and Viktor's humanity (symbolized by the analog instruments) singing back.
Interestingly, in the "Am I interrupting?" scene, we hear Viktor's theme sung by choir again when he's reminiscing over Sky's death (0:36), but it switches to a violin whe he decides to jump: one last choice made as a human, against the Hexcore.
We hear Jayce's theme here too (1:01)! It's suble, and in a minor key, as opposed to the hopeful major key of his childhood, played by a viola perhaps? It sounds like something with a deeper timbre than a violin.
Now here's what caught my attention:
In season 2, we almost never hear Viktor's theme. At all.
The only very, very few times it appears is through Jayce's perfective, and always faintly, quietly, in the background: when Jayce fuses him with the Hexcore, when he says he's alive and stable in the hexgoop, and once more even more faintly when Viktor wakes up and Jayce says "You're alive!", but when Viktor is alone? Never.
And it makes sense: to Jayce Viktor IS alive, he can't allow himself to think otherwise. But is Viktor... Viktor? Because the only thing we hear in Viktor's presence, is a choir. All of his tracks from season 2 are variations of different choir melodies, though never his own.
Until, of course, the end of the season.
After Jayce's speech, as soon as he touches Viktor, the erratic music melts into a fantastic, triumphant arrangement of Viktor's theme, which is not only in major key, but played by a violin.
There is no choir anymore. Whatever influece the Hexcore had is gone. With one touch, Jayce brought back not only Viktor's happiness, but his whole humanity.
There is so much more to say about the music in this series, and I haven't even discovered the other characters' themes yet...! Maybe all of this was obvious, but I had to put it in writing, even if it ended up being a super long post and maybe not too easy to follow :') Thank you so much for reading until the end!
Notes app Jinx doodle. Arcane has taken over me
I can't unsee this
I'm trying to find the dbd fic with established payneland where the cat king gives Edwin an aphrodisiac to seduce him. (It's effective but backfires because Edwin is immediately like "I need to get back to Charles rn".) Comedy gold really, if any of you know where it's from please tell me :)

Fucking NEED niko to make the gang watch nimona and charles being like "oh those knight guys are just like me and you mate yeah" and niko juet gives them the BIGGEST most QUIZZICAL look, because yeah.
I will always hate whoever decided that English name of GSNK is Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun, for how it sounds like the title of a trashy harem anime when it's ANYTHING but. Convincing my friends to watch the BEST COMEDY that anime has to offer has become a herculean task thanks to that fucker-
