oakley was born into what she would describe as ‘the perfect family’.
she was the middle child of three children, having an older sister and a younger brother that were her entire world.
oddly enough, oakley grew up with little to no knowledge about the existence of supernatural beings.
when she was seventeen, oakley went out to homecoming and an after party with some of her high school friends, only to come home to the horrific realization that her entire family had been slaughtered thanks to a home invasion gone wrong.
being the only person in her family to survive, oakley found herself plagued with a severe case of survivor’s guilt that has haunted her every day since.
on her twenty-third birthday, oakley went out to a bar to celebrate. that night, she got incredibly wasted and in turn was picked up by a guy who then chose to take her home.
little did she know, that the boy who had taken her home was a vampire with other intentions. he ended up turning her that same night, only to find out that her severe trauma and fragile mental state had consequently caused oakley to become a ripper ( something she found out the first time she fed on a human ).
wanting nothing to do with his newfound ripper of a baby vamp, her sire bailed on her, leaving newfound baby vamp oakley alone to fend for herself.
she heard through the grapevine about new orleans and how it was crawling with supernatural beings, which is how she found herself here, in search of someone to help her understand her new life.
shortly after moving the new orleans, oakley met xander. the story of how they met isn’t one that she brags about, given that he found her in the midst of a ‘ripper tantrum’ as she likes to call them. that was the day that xander took oakley under his wing and vowed to help her learn to control her urges.
what started out as just a friendly mentorship quickly blossomed into more as xander and oakley found themselves falling in love. today, oakley is happily engaged to the boy that she swears saved her life.
it was through xander that oakley met hope mikaelson -- the only other person she trusts with her ripper secret.
