the beast was already fairly seated by the time she showed up in the DINING HALL. as a matter of fact, he hadn’t expected her to show up on time : had hardly expected her to show up at all, if anything. but his brow was so firmly and tightly knit that any and all of that was not shown on his COUNTENANCE. for all he cared, she could think him cross that she had e'er decided to show her face here in the first place. he expected to say no word to her before or during their meal. before he could begin on his MEAL, though, he spotted, from across the table, the young woman slipping out of her seat right under the table. then came the slurping. for a moment, he was stunned into silence ; reacted a MOMENT later with a scoot of his chair back, a harsh growl loud enough for her to hear … and a loud : ❛ what are you doing ?! ❜
where one might be SCARED ------- ella is rather delighted. she’s managed to WIN in the fight against her curse once again ;; a hard thing to do. ❛ eating my dinner ! you never SAID where i had to sit. ❜ insolent girl --- forever amused with her since of WIT. she’s run from finishing school to end up here -- & here was TEN TIMES BETTER. no hattie to abuse her curse & tell her not to eat. or to rub her disgusting toes. she could take the yelling of the beast without fear ; she was quite used to other creatures being LOUD. ogres would shout & call in their grotesque language & she would lull them to sleep in their own language ! talented girl to learn the language of the beast. THIS beast was no different. ❛ do you wish to SEE me so badly ? i’m not much of a sight. ❜ thin girl -- starved really. but she’s only teasing him now ; for she already sees the MELANCHOLY trapped over this beast --------------------------------- perhaps she could make him laugh.
