his legs are opened slightly, only apart far enough to balance books on his knees as his back sits against a brick wall. a laptop sits on one side of him, a football on the other. for anyone who knew isaac, seeing a pencil in his hand where a shot glass usually sits is strange but desperate times call for desperate measures. and those measures are what convinces him to get the attention of the next person walking past him. “ yo ! ” his simple but improper greeting is followed with a HEAD NOD, a coy smile that usually got him in trouble. “ know anything about anthropology ? ” the inquiry is genuine ,in spite of the fact that he knows he’ll probably just pay someone to do his work for him. “ is the whole point that this darwin dude and his boyfriend wallace say we all used to be gorillas ? it’s cool and all but who gives a shit ? ”

“Hey!” Romeo laughed, unable to stifle his disbelief at the sight in front of him. Isaac appeared to be doing schoolwork, as in sitting down and putting a pencil to paper instead of doing literally anything but - a situation as uncommon as the heat in his apartment actually working. “Anthropology, huh? That’s like the science of humans? Kinda a broad topic...what do you need to know? I can’t say I’m like...the best source of information, but I can give it a go.”

Dropping his bag next to Isaac, Romeo leaned against the wall, his interest peaked by the sheer strangeness of the situation. It was like ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ come to life only without the allegorical commentary on mass society shit (man, his film theory class had seriously ruined movies for him.)

“Hey, man!” Romeo greeted, happily, jogging to catch up with Marco as soon as he’d recognized the hockey player from across the room. The event was crowded, more so than he’d been anticipating, and he was sure if he were any shorter he wouldn’t have been able to see over the sea of people in the first place. That would’ve sucked considering he hadn’t seen the senior in forever.

Oh, the perks of being too tall for his own good.
