Since Thunderbolts* reawakened my long lost interest in creative writing, here are a few ideas iâve already conjured up and might turn into full stories if anyone is interested. Theyâre mostly about Bucky (bc obviously, i have issues), but could be adapted to other characters! (I think a lot of the more f'ed up ones could easily be about Bob, I love him sm.)

Ideas for reader inserts:
Since we didnât really get to see any of Buckyâs void rooms, there is so much space to play with this idea:
Y/N was Buckyâs girlfriend during CATFA, and witnesses his fall. This could go in the direction of his inner struggle and turmoil as he falls. The moment that replays in the void is him falling, and falling, and falling â each time becoming more numb to the idea of existing in this loop.
This one could also work without the reader insert, as if the whole event isnât traumatizing enough for himâŠ.
On the other hand, this might also work from the readerâs perspective, as they witness him falling to his supposed death.Â
Or maybe in TWS, he seriously injures them unknowingly and has since apologized, but when Y/N is pulled into their void, this memory is relived. Bucky would swoop in to try and pull them out of it, but can they forgive him again?Â
The same idea but set around The Blip, Y/N is with him on the battlefield and it just keeps replaying the moment he is snapped, or right before as Y/N turns to dust.Â
On a lighter note, anything with congressman Bucky, because that whole concept going to sh*t right away is so hilarious to me.
What could be a multiple chapter situation is anything playing out in the AvengerZ tower, nothing original but thereâs just so much 2015-style drama up for grabs. If you have ideas, please leave them in my inbox!

Title: Glitter & Cuddles
Bucky was sprawled across the couch, one arm tucked lazily behind his head, the other holding his phone above his face. The screen glowed dully in the dim living room light, but he wasnât really paying attention anymore, just scrolling absentmindedly, counting the minutes until Y/N got home.
The apartment was quiet, the kind of quiet that felt heavier without her in it.Â
Then the front door clicked open.
Buckyâs head turned immediately, phone forgotten. He heard the unmistakable sound of a rolling suitcase bumping over the threshold and the soft shuffle of slippered feet.
And then there she was, still wrapped in the remnants of travel: leggings, an oversized hoodie (one that suspiciously resembled his favorite), a backpack hanging from one shoulder, and an exhausted expression that made his chest ache.
She didnât even glance his way before kicking off her Ugg slippers, letting her bag fall with a dull thud, and making a direct beeline for him.
âHeyââ he started, sitting up a little.Â
But she was already there.
Without so much as a warning, Y/N threw herself onto him, collapsing into his chest like she belonged thereâbecause, well, she did. With a dramatic groan muffled by his shirt, she wrapped herself around him.Â
âHi,â she mumbled against his sternum.
Bucky huffed a soft, as his phone slid off the couch somewhere behind him. His arms instinctively wrapped around her, metal and flesh curving to hold her securely, protectively.
âLong trip?â he murmured, his lips brushing the top of her head.
âEndless. Loud. There was glitter. So much glitter.â She nuzzled into the crook of his neck. âI missed you. I need a solid five minutes of just... this.â
He kissed the crown of her head with a gentle smile. âYouâre sparkly.â
âI know.â She groaned. âI think I absorbed it through osmosis.â
âDid you roll through a craft store?â
âNo, but someone brought body glitter to the club and it was chaos. Iâm pretty sure itâs in my soul now.â
He laughed quietly, reaching up to brush a few glimmering specks off her cheekâonly to smudge them more. âItâs like hugging a disco ball.â
âI warned you,â she mumbled, her arms tightening around him like a vice. âNow youâre contaminated. Thereâs no going back.â
âI can live with that.â
For a while, they didnât say anything. Bucky just held her, his fingers tracing soft, sleepy circles on her back through the worn hoodie. The kind of silence that existed only between two people who knew each other inside and out. Who didnât need noise to feel close.
Eventually, she tilted her head back just enough to peek at him, her eyes heavy with exhaustion and affection.
âWere you asleep?â
âNah,â he said, brushing a bit of glitter from the edge of her brow. âJust scrolling. Waiting on my girl.â
She smiled, slow and sleepy. âWell, your girl is home. And sheâs not moving for the next twelve hours.â
âIâm good with that,â he replied, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. âIâll order food later if we decide weâre humans again.â
She laughed against his neck. âPerfect.â
He grinned. âAlso, youâre definitely getting glitter all over the couch.â
âYou love it.â
âI love you,â he corrected, voice warm and unhurried. âThe glitterâs just⊠part of the Y/N experience.â
She leaned up to kiss him, a slow, sweet brush of lips that made his heart feel too full. Then she collapsed again, sighing contentedly.
âOh,â she added, her voice barely above a whisper, âI brought you something.â
Bucky raised an eyebrow. âIf itâs glitter, Iâm throwing it out the window.â
âNope,â she murmured. âItâs a keychain. Says, âI heart my hot assassin boyfriend.âÂ
He let out a low laugh, his chest shaking beneath her. âRomantic.â
âOnly the best.â
And just like that, tangled in a nest of blankets and love and literal sparkle, they drifted offâtogether. Home wasnât the couch. It wasnât even the apartment. It was the feeling of this.

Bucky woke to fading afternoon light. The weight of Y/N was still draped over him, a familiar comfort he never wanted to live without. Her cheek was squished softly against his chest, her mouth slightly open, breathing slow and steady. Her hair was a wild mess, flecked with glitter.
He smiled, slow and sleepy, and traced his hand along the small of her back, gentle and aimless.
She stirred, letting out a tiny noise, and shiftedâone leg now completely flung over his hip like she owned the space. Which, honestly, she did.
âMm. Alive?â he whispered, voice husky from sleep.
âBarely,â she croaked, half-asleep. âWhy are your abs still firm? This is supposed to be a human pillow.â
âYouâre napping on a supersoldier, babe.â
She groaned dramatically and burrowed closer. âYou should come with a mattress topper.â
Bucky chuckled. âYouâre still glowing, you know.â
âI want to ruin your shirt,â she said, matter-of-fact.
âItâs already ruined,â he replied, glancing down at the glitter-streaked mess of cotton. âWe are going to be finding glitter for the next few months.âÂ
She cracked one eye open. âThink of it as festive.â
âIâm serious. I think I saw some in your ear.â
Her nose scrunched. âNoooo.â
âYes.â
âGod,â she groaned, flopping onto her back beside him and dragging half the blanket with her. âI need to shower.â
He rolled onto his side to face her, eyes soft. âOr⊠you could keep laying here. Being adorable. Glitter and all.â
She let out a little hum, her smile sleepy. âSo you do like the glitter.â
âI like you,â he murmured, leaning in to brush his lips along her jaw. âIf that means I have to sparkle, Iâll deal with it.â
She grinned. âBucky Barnes: ex-assassin, part-time glitter fairy.â
âDonât say that too loud. Samâll never shut up about it.â
âSam already thinks I tamed you. Thisâll just seal the deal.â
He laughed, then paused. âYou didnât tame me.â
She turned her head toward him, curious.
âYou just⊠make the noise stop,â he said, quietly. âYou come home, crawl on top of me like a weighted blanket full of sass and glitter, and suddenly the world doesnât feel so damn loud.â
Her heart caught in her throat.
âJesus,â she whispered. âYou canât just say things like that. I was gonna shower.â
âSorry,â he said, not sorry at all, and leaned in to kiss her slow and deep.
When they broke apart, her smile was softer. Sleepier. Warmer.
âGuess Iâm staying glittery a little while longer.â
He pulled her back into his chest and held her like she was something precious. âGuess you are.â
And there they stayed: a quiet tangle of limbs, love, and sparkles, wrapped in a comfort deeper than restâsomething you donât find in a five-star suite or trendy bar.
