the brief moment of hesitation doesn’t go ignored by the male, though he gives it little mind. after all, the normal reaction would be some sort of reprimand. but idate isn’t this girl’s family—even if he is, he probably wouldn’t care enough to scold someone for their actions. live life as one wants, after all; as long as she can deal with the consequences, & it’s entertaining to watch, he couldn’t care less. ❛ so you are, ❜ he remarks almost mysteriously, an enigmatic expression on his face. ( is she getting danger signs yet, or is she just as oblivious as a girl in his past? )
seo shakes his hand, seeming ready to book it. it’s almost a humorous sight, given how there are so little reasons for calling her out. nonetheless, she seems a bit … slow, at least to society’s interpretation of normal. to others, it might be exasperating; to idate, he’s starting to see a favorite among his students already. it only increases his interest when she asks her question, eliciting some mix of a half-cough & a half-chuckle.
❛ pfft, a what? what gave you that idea? ❜ it’s the suit, isn’t it? it’s one of his favorites: comfortable, flexible, easy to wash in case some red stains might get on it. not that she would know or need to know that, of course. ❛ i’m not an undercover cop. just an ordinary teacher. ❜ who’s looking for a good time, he thinks. but there are some things better left unsaid, lest someone misinterpret his words. ❛ but that’s up to you whether you believe me or not. who knows? maybe this is an alias & i’m just pretending it’s not. ❜
he denies it easily, but yuzuki knows better. ❝ as expected of an undercover cop, ❞ she nods her head, crossing her arms, knowing the first thing one would do would be to completely disregard the wise, worldly, beautiful student’s accusation. ah, but it’s unfortunate he bumped into someone with so much sense and awareness. had it been someone else in class, yuzuki’s sure they wouldn’t have realized the obvious facts, but, well, she wouldn’t reveal him to the others just yet.
she pauses, knuckle pressed to her lips when idate starts elaborating and tossing out his maybe’s. as yuzuki’s face steels over and her eyes narrow, it appears as if she’s now measuring his easy justification, carefully sifting through this possibility and that, but in reality . . . yuzuki’s not listening to a word, already too taken and too confident with her own theories. at last, she snaps a finger, pointing it back at him.
❝ you’re one of those DISGRACED cops, right ? ❞ BINGO. she understands his situation perfectly now. ❝ you failed one of your big missions or whatever and now you’re stuck with this crappy job tryin’ to prove yourself to the others. ❞ hand flicks into a thumbs up. ❝ good luck, dude. ❞ normally she wouldn’t address a teacher so casually, but he had already basically given her the go-ahead with all forms of address.
