It was hard to believe that they had found each other, even more so that he was able to convince the old soldier to come with him. When Jack had finally caved and said yes, the nomad wasted no time making him acquainted with the tight-knit little caravan. All it took was the look of utter joy upon Genji’s face for the chief to agree.

Looking up, he brushed his nose against Jack’s chin and hummed. This was bliss, he had to admit. His smaller frame fit quite nicely against his old friend’s chest, his thighs.

          An arm draped loosely around Genji and the soldier sighed quietly. He’d be lying if he said this wasn’t nice. Even after only a few hours he could learn to enjoy this kind of life. Yet he couldn’t give up the search he and Amari had been on for so long. Surely an evening away wouldn’t ruin anything, though. Especially with the dead-end they’d hit recently. He’d told her he’d be back by the morning. When she found out he’d discovered the young Shimada, she couldn’t be too upset with him for taking a night off.

          He was roused from his thoughts by Genji’s touch, and hummed quietly. Not that he minded the comfortable weight in his lap, he hadn’t expected to be welcomed so affectionately. Genji and he had never been the closest. It wasn’t Jack’s area of expertise in Overwatch. That was all Gabe’s domain. Yet still, his grip on the young man tightened slightly.

          It was always nice to feel like you belonged somewhere.

          “If its as good as you make it sound, I’m sure it will be enjoyable... So how did you end up here, kid? I know we all kind of... Disappeared after. Y’know. I mean, everyone thought I was dead. That’s a story for another time. I want to know how such a talent like you ended up in the middle of nowhere with a trading caravan.”
