During the wind and snow this past weekend, @9trademark9 and I decided to go hiking. Found this oddly coloured sand in a flood channel. #viewsfrompallettown #vscocam

While it was amazing to see all of the Greek and Roman sculptures in Olympus, the best thing I saw there was this painting by Jackson Beardy from 1974. It spoke to me on a level the emotionless stone faces never could. Beardy was from Winnipeg and one of the founders of the Indian Group of Seven (All extremely talented artists, check out their work). He made a big push for aboriginal art to be viewed as art instead of something anthropological. His paintings are not only gorgeous, but are filled with important ideas like the need for balance and the connection between man and nature. Our hockey team winning gold or the quality of Tim Hortons has never made me feel nationalistic. But this Jackson Beardy painting makes me fucking proud to be a Canadian and even more proud to be an artist from humble beginnings in Manitoba. #viewsfromviridiancity #jacksonbeardy
Working from the wildflower this afternoon. It's cold outside but the afternoon sun tricks you into believing it's nice. #viewsfromlavendertown #vscocam
You might, on occasion, find me posted up with a playa ass bear that ain't afraid to stop and pop like a shooting guard #viewsfromlavendertown
The Pharcyde
What I like about photography is that there is very little bullshit involved. Despite all the talk, how much money you make, how many likes you get or how expensive your gear is; in the end it's all what you put inside that box. People are either speaking your language or lost in translation, what matters is trying to create something that attempts to communicate. #viewsfromanightmare and some random thoughts on #photography

#Instamax from this weekends creepy shoot in the Sanatorium with @spennymy9 & @taylorisham
like the lightning you feel when she touches your spine while laying in bed. Like looking in your daughters eyes. Like dancing in your house alone. Like the feeling of the sun on your face after a long winter. Like a bounce pass just out of the defenders reach. Like a snare drum perfectly on time. Like laughing so hard you cry. Some moments will always be beautiful. #viewsfromlavendertown #vscocam
