Edgar sleep talks purely because I do
.
Did I take this from my blog and forget to say that when I submitted the ask?
Yes, yes I did.
Shout out to @cee-views for their wonderful fanart for inspiring this headcannon.
This would make a wonderful tattoo
if i ever start getting tattoos and i still like sfth i may consider this……
I am not an expert on diabetes and I will never claim to be, but I remember when we were covering diabetes in biology, my teacher gave an anecdote about the time she had to stay up while on a residential with a diabetic student because their blood sugar was to low so my teacher had to make sure they were eating sugary food (I think it was chocolate or ceral bars they where eating).
With this in mind, the fact that Roland is just avoiding sugar all together is worrying to me. It's entirely possible that this will not result in anything because it’s just a silly dnd show, but I can't help but worry.
Basically, can people with diabetes please tell me whether or not Rolland will be OK avoiding sugar altogether, or not? And what the consequences of avoiding sugar altogether are?
.
For the sake of all my Elliot Allen, Singh, Hebdon, and Hinks headcannons, please can we try and reach this stretch goal.
Here's a link to the Kickstarter:

Some of the teachers at St Churnley's (not the ones we've met (except maybe Moley, but he might not be involved simply due to the fact none of the other teachers like him)) often will have bets surrounding unusual news stories and whether or not they're the result of new curses popping up.
I imagine there's a meeting before term starts where the teachers are debriefed on all the new students and what their curse are. It's supposed to help inform the teachers how best to help the new students, but the main thing that gets taken away from there are wether or that they won their bets.
Singh and the Stuarts have tried to get them to stop, but the other teachers just see it as harmless fun and argue that it's not impacting their teaching in any way as it something they do before school starts.
The last bets were on news stories surrounding Monty and the kids with physical curses.

Building off of the headcannon that Kevin's parents are Disney influencers, and me briefly mentioning that Kevin is touch adverse in my last headcannon, I think that Kevin only got hugged when he was on camera, which caused him to think that all physical affection is performative.
Due to this, he distrusts all physical affection coming from other people.
The brave boys quickly become an exception, and in fact, Kevin and Edgar end up being the most physically affectionate with each other because they both need it the most.
.
Expanding on my autistic Elliot Allen headcannon:
He hates being touched unexpectedly and will have a sensory overload if it happens (he's fine with it if it's on his terms or if someone asks first).
Elias did not know this (mainly due to the fact that Elliot doesn't get diagnosed until his 40s, and autism not being understood in the 80s & 90s (when Elliot would’ve been a kid)), and so would surprise Elliot with hugs a lot when he was younger.
Eventually, when the sensory overloads get so bad, Elias does stop hugging him unexpectedly because he realises what it's actually doing to Elliot.
The main downside of this is that when Edgar is born, Elias is afraid that hugging him will cause him to have a sensory overload the same way Elliot does, because it wouldn’t surprise me if Elias has no idea how autism works and just assumes that Edgar's (because there's no way he's neurotypical) is the same as Elliot's.
And it's obvious why Elliot wouldn't be a big fan of hugging Edgar.
This results in Edgar being touched starved but unable to ask for physical affection because he just doesn't see it and assumes it's off limits.
When the other brave boys discover this, they make it their mission to hug Edgar (with his consent) as often as possible (except maybe Kevin, he gives me the vibe that he's touch adversed as well).

@obsessionsobs CAN I STEAL THIS HEADCANON...?
and maybe add onto it "Kevin is touch adversed but wants to be involved still so he makes little gifts for the others"
@cee-views Feel free
Also, my next headcannon that I submitted to the blog is about Kevin being touched adversed, so you might like it
please read this even if you're not indian. especially if you're not indian.
you've seen the jokes. india is "dirty", indians are "everywhere", why don't they fix their own country. ok. let me tell you why, and what's happening right now while nobody's watching.
first, the history you skipped: britain ruled india for two centuries and drained it. economist utsa patnaik's research estimates around $45 trillion in today's money was taken. the india that got independence in 1947 was one of the poorest countries on earth. every "why is india like this" question starts there. you don't get to profit off a robbery and then mock the crime scene.
now, what's happening RIGHT NOW:
in may the question paper for NEET leaked. that's the national medical entrance exam. over 2.2 million students took it. cancelled. years of studying, families' savings poured into coaching, gone overnight because someone sold the paper. students died by suicide after. these were kids who wanted to be doctors.
and out of that came a protest movement. a gen z group called the cockroach janta party, started by a 30 year old named abhijeet dipke, got 22 million instagram followers within DAYS. they've been doing a sit-in at jantar mantar in delhi demanding education minister dharmendra pradhan resign.
and then there's sonam wangchuk. if you've watched 3 idiots, he's the real engineer the character was based on. built solar schools in ladakh. invented ice stupas so himalayan villages have water. spent his whole life on education. he's 59 and he's been on hunger strike for 17+ days now. reporters went to see him this week and he was too weak to talk. and the troll armies are calling him "anti national" and "foreign funded". a man starving himself for other people's children. that's the thing here, anyone who asks a question is suddenly a traitor.
it's not one incident, it's everywhere you look:
• infrastructure worth thousands of crores failing within months of the ribbon cutting. tunnels collapsing in regions where heavy rain is a guarantee, not a surprise.
• youth unemployment near 10% for ages 15 to 29, 13.6% in cities. in a country of 1.42 billion where more than half the population is young.
• only about the top 3% of indians earn above 10 lakh a year. meanwhile billionaire wealth keeps ballooning and the headlines celebrate it.
• manipur burned for over two years. an ethnic conflict, tens of thousands displaced, and the prime minister barely said the word manipur while it happened.
• journalists raided. critics' houses bulldozed. activists sitting in jail for years without trial under laws like UAPA. our press freedom ranking has cratered.
• even the petrol is a fight now, ethanol blending pushed through while drivers complain about their engines and get no straight answers.
and through all of it, the PM, who came to power on religious polarisation (americans, sound familiar?), travels abroad for photo ops and has not held one single open press conference in over a decade. not one.
what i'm asking:
if you're not indian: share this. our media mostly won't cover any of it because the big outlets are owned by the same billionaires the government serves. the only reason wangchuk's fast is getting any coverage is people refusing to look away.
if you ARE indian: speak up even if you're comfortable. especially if you're comfortable. join the protests. add to this, correct me, translate it. staying quiet is a choice when nothing in this post touches your life.
india is not "dirty". india was robbed, and it's being robbed again, from the inside this time. but it's also the country where a 59 year old will starve for strangers' kids and 22 million young people will rally behind a party literally named after cockroaches, because cockroaches survive everything.
we can still save her. but only loudly.
reblog. share. don't scroll past.
The Allen's used to think they were better than everyone because they had a family curse and took it way too seriously.
They purposely would only have one child to guarantee that the curse stayed in the family; unless the child was a girl, then they would have another child till they had a boy. If a girl was born, then they would go at length to make sure that she never had a child. Thankfully, most of the time, the Allen's tender to have boys first.
This continued until Elias, who (for obvious reasons) hated how his father and grandfather were so high and mighty and controlling. He loves Thaddeus but doesn't believe that he makes him any better than any of the other cursed boys.
So naturally, he had two children with two different women (from my earlier trans Elliot headcannon), neither of whom he ends up marrying. And even when he's married, it's open, so he's still actively seeing other people (this can be seen as an extension of Elias' lifestyle started off as rebellion headcannon).
Elliot also didn't get along with his grandfather, furthering the generation divide, and is also polyamorous.
Thankfully, by the time Edgar is born, this way of thinking is long dead and buried, along with Elias' father.
.
From that one freeze tag.
dont remind me.
