“Pain…is a pain.”
“That is quite enough, Sloth——I haven’t the patience.”
“Oh ah…now how did you two get in here?”
“Oh shut up, squinty. Not like asking that’s gonna do you any good now.”
"Ling, they outnumber us! Get behind me------!"

Unnecessary, unfruitful, unwanted!
"I don’t suppose that there’s some sort of point to all of this, right?"
Headcanon: The Founding of Imperial Xing
Xing is an ancient country that has existed for countless millenniums. In the beginning, it was populated by savage groups and tribes, the majority of which were nomadic and highly uncivilized. Their way of life was ruthless, barbaric, and strongly attuned to survival. Although beautiful, Xing is of a harsh climate and terrain, making famine, sickness, disease, injury, and many other afflictions quite prevalent. Since the beginning of known history, Xing has been riddled with inner conflict and civil war. The contention predominantly originated from common issues over favorable resources and territories. However, it was only a short matter of time before elements such as revenge, spite, cruelty, animosity, and the desire for power began settling into the roots of the continuous conflicts.
Over many decades and centuries, the primitive groups began developing into civilized clans. The repeated occurrences of warfare became far more intelligent and tactfully devised. With such a long history of bloodshed and survival oriented existences, it was only natural that Xing soon developed into a highly political country. Although less trivial and outright savage, mere skirmishes and high end battle campaigns alike remained more prevalent than ever as the country grew.
The forming of alliances, though present for as long as warfare, only became more common as the country matured socially. However, there has never been a time when Xing has not existed on the base principle of every man for himself, or generally, each clan for itself. Thus, genuine and fully trusted allegiances were always few and far between. Traditionally, they came and went very swiftly, and were made for entirely selfish reasons on both or all respective sides. Treachery and deception have long been necessary skills in both pursuing and surviving Xingese politics.
In accordance with their growing sophistication, the clans slowly began working together in a more civilized manner, even though conflict and disagreement remained prevalent. Shared markets were created, clearer territory boundaries were instilled, rough sets of laws and punishments were mapped out, as well as other things of a similar nature. However, though these changes were certainly effective to a degree, they also resulted clashes of their own, for without a singular leader, the issues of disagreement and opposition were endless. Particularly since so many clans shared negative past histories, they were reluctant to cooperate with one another, even if only for that very reason.
At the forefront of those who sought to enforce a lifestyle of greater discipline was the Wing Clan. Given that the country was currently in a great predicament, the opportunity to step forward as a force of power and direction could not have been more prime. Thus, being a wealthy and prosperous clan at the time, the house of Wing gathered many allies of supporting beliefs to them, most notably the house of Yue, and fought to create the first empire. Naturally, this was strongly opposed by a great many. The Shoi Clan rallied a powerful rebel force to combat the idea, which resulted in many years of bloodshed and causality. In the end, the rebels were defeated and the empire was formed, with the Wing Clan at its head. Thus began the Wing Dynasty, and the initiation of Imperial Xing. This occurred over 2,000 years ago.
Just because two people fall in love doesn't mean they're meant to be together.
"Right----that said, I think I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, just the same."
I want to wrap my love around your ring finger.
"Oh, no----I don't think so."
They say the world is cruel, but really, it all depends on what side you're on.
"Doesn't everything, though...?"
Can I have a peppermint stick?
"Ah----you know, I don't think I have any of those."
