Let’s Just Take a Moment for...You Guessed It-Complaining
So can I just say that I am normally an easy-going person in public. However, today I may have considered going a teeny bit psycho. I don’t mean to complain (actually I do, considering it’s in the title of the post), but I have about 40 more pages of work due in 3 days, I have class from 8-3, work until 5:30, Skit practice at 6:30, and, well more homework. When you add the time it takes for me to commute between each of these, well...it doesn't leave much time for anything. So like I said...just a bit testy.
Now I understand that every college student (aside from the party people, the pot-smokers, and anyone who majors in art or humanities [just kidding on that last one]) has a lot to do and suffers from a little stress, but I have always had a tendency to stress out over the little things. But literally within a twenty minute time span, I happened across--and made a list of--5 things that royally trample my nerves. Keep in mind, some of these are just stress induced rants, but others are legitimate “Duh” problems.
1. Any person who will push through a line and shove people out of the way to get through a door when there is another, closer door that they could have gone through.
2. People who park where there is NOT a parking spot. Just in case you don’t already know, diagonal stripes do not signal, “Hey you, this is a prime spot to park. Come over here.”Â
3. Faculty that park in the above-mentioned places. Just sayin’ people--when I back into your car, or ding it with my door, IT IS YOUR FAULT.
4. Teachers who say things like, “Don’t ever just give your students busy work. It doesn't benefit anyone!” and then give the entire class three assignments that will not be graded to keep them busy until time for their individual exams.
And finally, #5. Listen, I am all about some nice photography, but don’t be stupid about it. There was a guy taking pictures outside of one of the major buildings on campus as I was driving to my 1 o’clock class. He has someone standing on the crosswalk, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. Keep this in mind, because it is about to be a very important detail. So, when you take pictures of people, you have to make sure they look good so you have to have all of the really cool photography accessories. So this guy...has a girl with a giant, golden reflecty-thing and she is just waving this thing around like a psycho toward oncoming traffic--which, by the way, just happens to be me. So now I am driving along and....BAM! All I see is a golden flash of light, and then I’m blind. At this point, for all I know I witnessed the appearance of an angel and it seared out my eyes, I’ve been struck with blindness as punishment for my negative attitude, I don’t really know. But as soon as my vision returns, guess who is right in front of my car, about to get ran over. You guessed it! Mr. I-think-its-a-good-idea-to-stand-in-the-middle-of-the-road-like-an-idiot. Needless to say, he may have been informed just how stupid he really was.
