Identifying a Cockatrice
With how diverse hybrids can look on Mythcre, it is entirely possible for a bird-snake gryphon to closely resemble a Cockatrice. In order to identify whether or not the individual in question is in fact a Cockatrice, there are a few unique characteristics to look out for.
Some of a Cockatrice’s most recognizable characteristics are its wing-claws and ridge of stone above its eyes. They also usually have beak fangs, head crests, and a set of spines on their tails.
As an aside, while it is true that Cockatrices can cause petrification, it is never permanent. The actual duration of the affliction depends on the individual Cockatrice’s proficiency.Â
*Note: Not all Cockatrices look as unfriendly as the individual used in this example.
