I keep on seeing this one post floating around talking about how becoming a radfem made them miserable and I wanna be nice but... take the L ladies. Life's so much better when I can put a name to misogyny. Or cutting ties with porn supporting male friends. I'm more will I need to call out things that make me uncomfortable, I'm actually excersising(mostly because the prospect of endometriosis has put the fear of god into me), I'm generally more extroverted... one of the most despicable parts of male supremacy is the strategic refusal to acknowledge female oppression. you can never address a problem it nobody admits it exists. there is no guilty party if we ignore the problem.

you will watch the news and see story after story of a woman being killed by a man but no one will call it femicide. you will hear statistic after statistic about women being raped/assaulted/trafficked by men but no one will call it misogyny. you hear songs and watch shows where men are degrading and abusing women but nobody blinks. there’s a “male loneliness epidemic” narrative but not a “female suffering crisis” narrative.

In my country, they (the media) will say it is feminicide if it was an intimate partner murder, especially considering feminicide is a (technically recent, from 2015) crime inscribed on the law here.

And sometimes, they will even call these gendered-sexed crimes as misogyny.

But almost nobody ever (with any real political influence), even here (where there is a law for feminicide, even though the country is still very misogynistic - so much so, that it has been like pulling teeth to criminalize misogyny), dares to call male terrorism by its name.

Most people will know and will mention that most CSA cases were/are committed by dads, father in laws, grampas and uncles...

But almost none will point out the elefant in the room - these are all males!!! These are all men committing male violence against the more vulnerable (children in this case, but they are similar to women and to animals.)

All of this violence is treated as bad/monstrous men's doing, a "minority" committing violence against the "weak (more vulnerable."

Everybody is somewhat aware of the oppression of women, but the vast majority of people seem unwilling to dig further in the iceberg/rabbit hole of misogyny, scared (for their own self-perception in the case of men sometimes) of realizing how deep the issue goes.

Because yes, no little amount of people think misogyny-machismo is something from the past or that it isn't that bad...if they don't go to alt right rabbit holes.

TL;DR: Even if the problem of women's oppression is recognized at some level, the perpetrators and the dimension of the problem are not pointed out or recognized by its size.

my heart bleeds everyday for the afghan girls and women. they are housebound and have to cover themselves up from top to bottom because they have to "avoid temptation or seduction". they are not allowed to speak in public or appear in public because it is deemed "too intimate." the women can’t look at men. suicide rates have skyrocketed because women and girls would rather be dead than to be a women in afghanistan. it’s not a sin to be a women.

women and girls are denied access to healthcare because they cannot be treated by male doctors, yet they are also barred from education and, therefore, cannot become doctors themselves. shops in afghanistan are even forced to cover up female mannequins. little girls live in fear of becoming child brides, but they dream of being poets, they would kill to get education.

a woman was disqualified from the olympics because she spread the message "free afghan women" at her breakdance performance. there must always be a relative male by their side like women were dogs being treated by their owner, except dogs have more rights than the women suffering.

we must raise awareness, do not look away. these women deserve the opportunities and the human rights that EVERY person does. they are talented, creative and intelligent but men are so scared. scared of women. the taliban tries to erase women. i’m sick. the radical government that feels threatened by women. do not look away.
