Ocean's Adoration

A poor slave of a mermen named Anaji finds his luck turning from bad to worse. His escape of servitude has him captured by humans and into the world of experiments. Why is it that one of the scientists looks so familiar though? He couldn't possibly be from the time Anaji spent on the surface in his childhood...could he?

Day 29 is Koi. I chose Zeke for this one since he has that kind of pattern. He’s trying to decide if he likes his latest outfit, even if it is in his favorite reds and golds….

Day 6 is ice!! I’m a bit late since i had a long day at work…. I guess that translated across. This is Salom, a character from my webcomic hiatus monstrosity. Honestly he’s not a major character but he is the king of the frozen waters. As for his grumpiness….well….When you’re king and your birthday is a national holiday and somehow your fiance still manages to forget and you have to hold back the urge to stab him with your very pointy ice scepter.

Day 14: Butterfly. got a new pen. Very thick line so that threw me off a little. butterfly is a, um, well used motif so it’s hard to come up with something original. For those who have read my comic Tula’s often coded to a butterfly and her first concept art is very butterfly like. I tried drawing her old, very butterfly, concept for this one.

HEY So remember my last page when i was like i need to move the day to keep up?? Apparently my boss just wanted me dead. I consistently only had one day off a week that whole month so that was was an accidental month long hiatus. I yelled at him and input a new availability in the system so he can't schedule me Mondays and Tuesdays (pretending to have classes ohohohohoo) but then i can get some consistent days off to focus on this like i planned to!! To answer anyone's question; Yeah they are totally fucking.

Thursday challenge again. This week was a redraw of an old piece. The top is from 2013. I decided to revamp in so Anaji actually has limbs and a reason to hold a blanket, like waking up a sleepy bae.

Alright I have a serious question for you guys; What do you want out of this comic? I came into this wanting to give you all a gorgeous ocean comic that was pretty and had nice complicated relationships and just....It isn't happening. The two year anniversary of this comic is going to be in October and we are no where near where I wanted to be. The quality has decreased dramatically and it isn't something that I can help. My schedule is extremely sporadic now and I don't have the time to sit and draw a page that looks as good as the intro did. These past two drawings were ones I had done during February to make into prints but that never happened. I do love this comic and I want to share it with everyone and I hope you have enjoyed what you've gotten but this is not the product I had been intending to give. It's rude to you as readers to keep putting it off or putting it on hiatus but my life is not stable enough to manage a webcomic where the style is the main attraction. So I'm asking everyone, with genuine concern, what do you think you should be receiving?? If you can live with the sporadic updates then i suppose i can keep at it but this is honestly something I'm not comfortable with anymore. This comic was intended to be incredibly long. It was intended to go into each character and their personal life indepthly and as you saw from the character bust sheet i haven't even gotten to introduce you to everyone yet. With my current job I don't have time to do the things I love anymore. I really do want to draw this comic but at this point there is so much frustration I'm not sure if I can continue while having this job.
