VERY into legend of king arthur and the knights of the round table, alongside any great figure from before the 1100s (alexander the great, charlemagne, etc)

impulsive and brash as hell, running into most things with little regret. will cause problems on accident, on purpose

loves music, theatre, and the arts. watched Sister Act within the first day of being summoned.

loves fighting strong opponents. please fight him.

please don't worry about the war crimes. he's not proud of them, please understand.

With the dimming of daylight, her patrol was set for Crimson Lane and its surroundings, as Golden's attractions were inevitably a hub for misdeed. The knight took pause, sensing attention upon her, albeit without the suspicion or antagonism of a suspect aware their activity were at risk of disruption.

In fact, upon identifying the source, any surprise at the shape of the gaze was dwarfed by his own. Though Servant, he appeared fixated as though seeing someone from life, somebody he never expected to meet again.

Saber had grown accustomed to being subject to mistaken identities through resemblance — that said, something about his stare felt genuine. that he was looking at her, and not somebody who bore similar appearance.

Having composed herself from the initial bemusement, she approached, as his daze seemed to be far deeper. "Is everything alright? If something is troubling you, I can assist, should you require".

Her approach causes him to take a singular step back, moreso as an innate response than any sense of desire to leave. Why would he? When he had finally realized his own wish for the Grail, why would he shirk away from what he wanted most?

Was this, in fact, Avalon all along?

He realizes that she's waiting for a response, so he shakes his head and clears his throat. He's already embarrassed himself with his staring; the last thing he wants is to insult her further by ignoring her. "M-My apologies," he finally replies, his normal bluster fully missing in lieu of a more deferential demeanour. "I'm deeply ashamed to have come off so brazenly in your presence, my lord King."

🏹 Even now, he was acting too casual for his own good. It aligned with the impression that Rider had gotten of the Saber in the throes of the Holy Grail War, within which she and her Masters had acted as allies according to their truce. There were more heinous things happening behind the scenes of Snowfield to be concerned about the decorum of a regular Holy Grail War.

If Snowfield's war could even be considered such a thing.

"Saber... Do you plan on upholding our alliance under these conditions? Do you recall us having an alliance in the first place?" She had to consider the possibility that this might not have been the same summoning for him, that he had no memories of that war. Either way, he didn't seem intent on treating the queen like an enemy.

There's no doubt that she's of clear mind as to who he is, even if he cannot say the same for her. It doesn't take the largest leap of logic to reasonably guess that she's a Servant, especially with the sheer willpower that Saber can feel emanating from her.

The mention of the alliance and the fact she's not outright attacking him at first glance tells him at least that he doesn't have anything to worry about for the time being.

"You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but I can't say I recall ever meeting, much less any talk of an alliance." He's not disbelieving of it happening – he's made enough alliances up until that point to try and ensure Ayaka's safety before she confirmed their contract. It's the one thing that makes him fairly certain that this isn't simply a case of being in different wars, as he probably wouldn't been interested in such otherwise.

That is, if he didn't completely forget about it by now.

"I'm ashamed that you know so much about me, yet I cannot say the same. May I ask the class in which you were summoned as?"

Generally, Richard's head tends to be on a constant swivel looking for anyone he knows from the Grail War that may have inadvertently gotten pulled in without his realization. He knows it's probably a losing game in the long run, but he'd rather keep trekking down that futile road than leave Ayaka or anyone else stranded for any longer than humanly possible.

So, the idea of anyone else recognizable appearing doesn't even cross his mind as he happens see Saber across the way, seemingly going on his way when –

Hang on a second.

He's immediately rooted in place as realization dawns on him, fully incapable of hiding a shocked expression on his face. There's no way he'd forget what the King of Knights looks like, for as long as he was alive, and for her to be here is...

He can't even compute that, as he just dumbly stands there in utter disbelief.

The Uplift certainly has a market on incredible views, which is easily makes this the better of two markets, hands down. The constant threat of slipping and falling to one's untimely demise is just a charm point. Surely.

"Surely the combination of the icy conditions, warm drinks, and an unfathomable height would make this all the more liable for recompense should anything happen, would it not?" he muses out loud, sipping at a hot chocolate as he stares in a nonspecific area of the open sky below them.

Coming from the mostly arid climate of Snowfield (a misnomer if there ever was one), it's a wonder to actually see snow for a change. It's not hard to get immediately wrapped into the spirit of the season, as Richard spends time wandering around the Cotes Ward with a glint of excitement in his eyes.

The pixies and frost fairies in particular are particularly interesting, as the Saber converses with them, seemingly about what they're currently peddling and the games they're offering. He knows better than to simply take them at their word, of course, but he can't help but be a little bit curious.

Noticing someone come up, he picks his head up, smiling brightly in greeting.

"Well met! You wouldn't happen to be familiar with what these sprites were interested in receiving as payment, are you?"

For some time, Richard finds himself wandering up and down the hallways of the Tempus Museum, seemingly drawn to it by its lavish and opulent façade. He's happy to aimlessly wander the halls, taking in each exhibit and art piece as he progresses with no true goal in mind to reach.

Which makes it a little confusing where, inexplicably, he ends up turning into the lobby. The first two times were simply written off as pure coincidences, but after making a conscious effort to at least try going in different directions, but always ending up at the same entrance.

"...strange. It doesn't seem like magecraft, at least," he mumbles to himself, staring back down the hallway like he's trying to figure out how it works.
