Sorry for being closed for the week... good luck out there.
Sensing that something was terribly wrong within the Underground, Jing pried open the door and slipped into the shop. She stuck close to the walls and made her way to a counter. After running her hands across the surface of it and running along the sides of it - /where are they?/ - she found what she was looking for. Pulling the tickets out, she placed a few down and started to write on one; "I want my big brother to be safe this week." On another; "I want my uncle to be safe this week."
Day 6: Your choice.
Request whatever you want from Lee. (Just make sure it doesn't take too long to cook.)
[Day 1] - After a few moments, Howl returns to Lee's side with a broom and smile. "It smells good in here! What's cookin', good lookin'?" She bats her eyelashes up at the man. "That hair looks good on ya too."
“Mm, thanks, I guess...? I’m just making some ramen right now.”
Day 5: Rice with Nori
Day 4: Tomato and Egg Soup
Day 3: Congee
[D2] Jing smiles - partways a bright smile, partways a relieved one - and she brings her arm around him and squeezes him tightly. "You da bes', Ryli." She releases him and wanders to the backroom - the opposite direction of the futons and the blankets. She emerges with Lee's coat on her shoulder. Self satisfaction practically radiating from the girl, she returns to his side. "Pssst. Can I help with th' food? Y-slash-N?"
Somehow he isn’t surprised at all by Jing doing that.
“Uh... sure. Want to help put things into bowls?”
[Howl, Day 1] She pouts up at Lee. "Eeyy, I try! I just don't wanna butt in or whatever- Here here, lemme help around yeah? I'll wash dishes! Or mop up stuff! I got this." The girl pries herself off of the other and disappears into the back.
Howl walked off before Lee could react.
Oh.
[D2] A rather rattled Jing entered Ochre. The roar outside... the stuff floating around about static and monsters... she's already feeling backhanded distress, anger and numbness from within her. She can't lose face now - not when people depended on her! Nevertheless, she makes her way over to Lee and buries her face into his chest, a strangled and muffled scream escaping her. Once it was out of her system, she lifted her face and rested her cheek against him. "Fish curry?" She murmured to him.
Lee looks down at the shorter girl pressed against him, and gently pats her back. Pausing for a moment, he considers asking her what’s wrong, but.. he probably already knew.
“Mmm... want some? I can find an apple or something too, probably... there should be enough blankets around, so feel free to lay down...”
Howl enters, sneaking her way to the back of the counter and slowly beside Lee. She smells ramen. She rubs against his side, patting the cat face on his apron. "Ya look cute, LeeLee! How'd I get so lucky." She winks and grins up at him.
[Day 1]
Lee looks up, making eye contact with the girl.
“Eh? Thanks, I guess?” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Weird to see you around here. What’s this, the second time you came?”
Day 2: Fish Curry
Day 1 Dinner: Poor Man’s Ramen
...
Lee sighs. He hasn't gotten a restock in a while, so the shop's empty, but... Lee will be assisting with feeding players at the shop this week. (Free dinner for players... think of it like the midnight reset.)
closed for the week... but.
This week, Ochre is void of stock. The usual racks of fanciful clothes are empty, and the cabinets frequently bursting with various medicines are all but vacant. There is no smell of soup wafting from the kitchen, nor are there any young adults bustling behind the doors. Instead, however, there are beds. Futon upon futon lay upon the ground, prepped and ready for what could be ten, maybe even fifteen bodies. Blankets rest upon counter tops, and pillows are waiting against walls. The remnants of a decal can be seen upon the wall outside the store, alongside a sign.Â
“Free for all Players. It is getting cold outside.”                                                 -- Yasumu.
Wishes: Week 12
I wish that my mural stays in the Scramble, no matter what. I don't want anyone here to be forgotten.
A hastily scribbled luck ticket has been left. It reads 'Losing people really hurts. If there's some way to save Myra or Misae's souls somehow, please do it. And if not, make sure as many people as possible in the UG and RG see that mural Misae made of everyone. Everyone deserve to be remembered, and Misae's art is the damn best way for that to happen.' It is simply signed 'Aya.'
[ Along with wishes, a letter was also received... ]
Dear Jikuro-chan and Yasumu-kun,
I’m not really sure of what’s going to happen today, but if I don’t make it through, this is something to remember me by.
I had a lot of fun with you, Jikuro-chan. You were always so happy and fun to talk to, and you always brightened up my day. And you share my enthusiasm for konpeito. If I make it through today, I’d like to hang out with you more.
Yasumu-kun, it was interesting to hear about your Game and your partnership with Jikuro-chan. I didn’t get to talk to you that much, but you seem really nice. I wish you good luck in the future.
In the Scramble, I painted a mural of everyone in this Game, plus you guys. You should go see it.
And if I don’t make it through today, I’m sorry.
-Mimicchihoshi (Misae Hoshino)
P.S. Thank you for the ladder, Jikuro-chan.
[ In the envelope containing the letter are watercolor paintings of Yasumu and Jing. ]
Misae hugged Jing tightly, then smiled wide as she took the food. "Thank you, Jikuro-chan." Stardust and lavender metal, huh. She had never thought of herself like that. She felt herself tear up a little, so she wiped her eyes. "I'll make it through just for you, Jikuro-chan."
[ Jing may edit in an answer later. ]
