Hi! I just want to say I love your blog, it brings me so much joy. I also have questions that are probably too complex for a single Tumblr ask, but what can you tell me about President Zelenskyy's life and politics before the war? I know the basics: that he's Jewish, that he was an actor and starred in the comedy show "Servant of the People" where his character became president overnight... But with so much bias and propaganda, I'm wary of the internet (especially considering Russia's cyberwarfare). And I admit that, like many people, I hadn't given Ukraine much thought before the invasion. I know next to nothing about its geography, so for instance, I vaguely recall reading somewhere that the President is from a Russian-speaking region and it's actually his first language. God knows if that's accurate.

I want to know more about him and draw my own conclusions. When he talked to the Congress of Spain (my birth country), I was pleasantly surprised and touched that he knew about our civil war and the fascist bombing of Gernika. But then I got so mad when some parliament members refused to clap for him because, according to them, Zelenskyy is only receiving praise due to the war, but what he did before is not praiseworthy (or something like that). And it seems others share that sentiment.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm so frustrated because, on top of everything that's happening, one cannot seem to be able to rely on anyone for the truth.
