Amateur Dance Releases ‘Love System’ EP
Off the back of his set at Splendour in the Grass, an appearance on Mixmag’s The Lab and props from the likes of Resident Advisor, Pitchfork, THUMP, Bicep and Radio 1, Melbourne’s Joseph Cookson aka Amateur Dance has had a stellar year since the release of last year’s head-turning It’s Really Something EP.
Cookson now makes his full label debut with renowned UK label Anjunadeep, with four fresh deep cuts in his Love System EP. The Love System EP opens with melodic groover "Dreamhack" (as premiered on BBC Radio with Pete Tong), before drifting into title track and laid back house gem "Love System", as premiered via Magnetic Mag. Followed by "You Give Me Butterflies", another nostalgic late-night cut. In keeping with the dreamy atmospherics of the first three productions, Cookson rounds off the EP with a more reflective moment in "I Lost (Your) Touch". Not one to slow down, Cookson has readied a slew of new releases for 2017 and shows across Summer. The Love System EP drops today via Anjunadeep & October Records. Ribongia Releases Double A-side, Announces Debut Album
Florence-born, Sydney-based producer Ribongia has shared a double a-side release from his forthcoming debut album, due for release on October Records next year. Premiered on triple j’s Good Nights, "We Run Tings" features UK grime MC Footsie and cleverly infuses the grime-based vocal work with a pulsing tropical undercurrent and undeniable sense of fun. The second track, "Rituals", showcases Ribongia's flair for beautiful and unusual instrumental music, animating the delicate samples with a subtle energy and serving to showcase his range as an artist - a taste of whats to come on his forthcoming record. Moonbase Commander releases new EP, ‘Orthodox’
Moonbase Commander has unveiled his new four-track EP, Orthodox.
As premiered via NestHQ, the Orthodox EP finds MBC further refining his already scintillating sound palette. New single ‘Oblivion’ (featuring Melbourne upstart Ecca Vandal & premiered on triple j’s Good Nights) is a wolf in sheep’s clothing; a pop record draped in MBC's bass-heavy production. ‘Heavyweights’ (featuring Mikey Dollaz) is a masterstroke in simplicity, supporting Mikey’s vocal with equal parts spacing and weight. Title track ‘Orthodox’ throws a straight haymaker at the dance floor and previous single ‘Greyhound’ is still as ferocious as ever in rounding out the EP.

BUOY releases ‘Break’ EP, incl. new single ‘Exit’
Sydney based artist BUOY (Charmian Kingston) has spent the last year steadily building her reputation as one of Australia’s most innovative and interesting electronic acts. We are beyond excited to announce she is now set to release her sophamore EP, ‘Break’, via October Records.
Working with longtime collaborator Jack Grace and recent Pieater signing Christopher Port, the Break EP sees BUOY's pairing her established ear for melancholy and tension with bursts of vibrant colour.
Whilst earlier output experimented heavily with vocal layering and effects, Break strips Charmian's striking vocals bare to create a newfound sense of intimacy and immediacy. Likewise, while previous EP Immersion explored the space between dark electronica and textured ambience, Break mines UK Garage and esoteric pop to infuse BUOY's output with faster tempos and dance-ready syncopation.

Amateur Dance has announced he’s signed with renowned tastemaker label Anjunadeep for Europe.

Moonbase Commander announces ‘Greyhound’ National Tour
Moonbase Commander resides in the grimy warehouses of the Sydney bass scene music scene – a producer who unites the worlds of left-field hip hop and future bass to rousing effect. Taking his forward-thinking music into the live arena has been a key move for Moonbase Commander and coming off the back of a massive Splendour In The Grass performance, club’s around the country are in for an audio visual treat. ‘With the Greyhound Tour being my first official tour run, it only felt right to hit all my favourite club spots around the nation. I’m excited to show off exclusive visuals and spin a whole bunch of new tunes in my upcoming sets.’
After the release of 2015’s ‘Southpaw’ EP that included the Cakes Da Killa collaboration ‘Serve It Up’ (Pitchfork ‘Best New Music’) and the triple j supported ‘Southpaw’, MBC has been in high demand.
‘Greyhound’ marks the first release of original material from MBC in 2016 and has already received huge support on the airwaves. Featuring a snarling, low-slung bassline, semi-automatic snares and rolling vocal samples, ‘Greyhound’ eventually gives way to a jungle-inspired mix of rave stabs and pure warehouse energy. ‘Greyhound’ finds MBC picking up exactly where he left off and is an exciting taste of what’s to come from his forthcoming ‘Orthodox’ EP later in the year.
Performing at Splendour in the Grass, Groovin’ The Moo & Secret Garden festivals, playing support slots for Mr Carmack, Keys & Krates and Tkay Maidza and writing remixes for Paces, Nicole Millar and Polographia has kept MBC remarkably busy throughout 2016 and this is set to continue with his massive national tour.
BUOY announces ‘Break’ EP Tour
Sydney based artist BUOY (Charmian Kingston) has spent the last year steadily building her reputation as one of Australia’s most innovative and interesting electronic acts. After the release of “Clouds & Rain” in April, she is now set to release her ‘Break’ EP via October Records, on August 19.
To celebrate, BUOY is heading off on her first national headline tour in September, hitting BigSound in Brisbane, Newtown Social in Sydney & Boney in Melbourne.
In addition, BUOY has enlisted Sydney/Adelaide fibre-optic production outfit Collarbones to rework her recent single, “Clouds & Rain”. The first remix to surface for BUOY, Charmian hand-picked Collarbones for their unique take on dark pop & eclectic club music. The result is a brooding, percussive-heavy rework that casts BUOY’s shimmering vocals against a sinister, club-ready backdrop as premiered today by NestHQ.
Originally trained as a jazz pianist, BUOY’s live show is a unique take on live electronic music with pianos, vocals, synths and percussion building upon one another to create a stunning wall of sound. Recently joining the Niche Productions roster, she has already supported Lapsley, Oscar Key Sung, Ngaiire, Banoffee, Kllo and Rainbow Chan, headlined her own shows at GoodGod Small Club & Oxford Circus, performed at Secret Garden Festival as well as this year’s Splendour in the Grass Festival.

Working with long time collaborator Jack Grace and recent Pieater signing Christopher Port, “Clouds & Rain” sets BUOY’s striking vocals against an atmosphere of syncopated percussion and sculptured soundscapes. The result is an evolving, addictive and up-tempo new single that builds on her previous output to serve as a taste of things to come in 2016.
After releasing her debut Immersion EP in 2015 to rave support across Australian and international press (Clash Magazine, Oyster Magazine, Pigeons & Planes, Indie Shuffle and more), BUOY has since been added across all Australian tastemaker radio, featured on Triple J Unearthed and had spins on BBC Radio & KCRW. 2015 also saw her garner support from contemporaries such as ODESZA, Jagwar Ma and Belle & Sebastian, become a Spotify Feature Artist and FBi Radio’s Independent Artist of the Week.

Ribongia goes globe-trotting with new ESCAPISMS EP
It’s been a big few months for Ribongia with features on triple j, a European tour in support of Hermitude and now the release of his latest EP, ‘ESCAPISMS’.
Premiered via Pigeons & Planes, ESCAPISMS finds Ribongia in full flight. While it’s been a minute since Antonio released his debut EP ‘It Began’, the fast-rising producer has kept his head locked down in the studio for the past few months and the results speak for themselves. Spanning six meticulous, genre-shifting tracks, ESCAPISMS features two previously released singles ‘Journeys’ & ‘My Word’ as well as new single, ‘Downstream’.
Known for incorporating and celebrating native African sounds such as Azonto, Gqom and Shaangan Electro together with a careful blend of trap and footwork genres, Ribongia’s music reflects his curious mind and cutting edge style like no other.

Moonbase Commander drops the hammer with the ‘Southpaw EP’
Sydney’s master of brooding future-bass, Moonbase Commander has been making waves for a few months with his immense single ‘Southpaw’ hitting the high rotation mark on triple j & tastemaker radio around the country.
Known for his forward-thinking flips and sought-after remixes, MBC has worked with a growing list of both national and international artists alike.
