Welcome! I have been inspired recently to create child units for the cast of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This project was very heavily inspired by the work of @midday-headcanons, @whydoihavetopickaname, and @creativesplat (if any of you don't want to be @ ed, just let me know!) Absolutely go check out their respective FE3H lineups, they all make some really great stuff and I would highly recommend looking at it!
❤️🦅❤️The Black Eagles
Annalena von Hevring
Friedrich von Varley
Gawain von Hresvelg
Hester von Bergliez
Morana von Vestra
Orion Arnault
Tadhg Macneary
Theodora von Aegir
I've decided to come up with what the critical quotes would be for each of my characters! We'll start with the Eagles, and I will also post the Lions and Deer in the future :)
Annalena von Hevring
"Go away!"
"Hyaah!"
"Raah!"
Friedrich von Varley
"You're pathetic!"
"Move it, you idiot!"
"Don't make me hurt you!"
Gawain von Hresvelg
"With an eagle's eye!"
"For Adrestia!"
"Please, stand back!"
Hester von Bergliez
"Gotta keep things fair!"
"Better watch out!"
"I've got you now!"
Morana von Vestra
"Stay away from His Majesty!"
"One clean cut!"
"Magic or no, you're dead!"
Orion Arnault
"It's the final act!"
"Sorry it's gotta be like this!"
"May Seiros receive you!"
Tadhg Macneary
"The dance of flames!"
"Let us not lose hope!"
"Do you hear the thunder?"
Theodora von Aegir
"For House Aegir!"
"How exhilarating!"
"The glory of nobility!"
The third one! The previous Black Eagles and Blue Lions posts can be found in the links :)
Aryn Pinelli:
Favorite Aunt: Hilda, but for weird reasons. They don't have much in common at all. Hilda would be very impressed by a lot of Aryn's talents, especially his skills at hunting and foraging, and while he doesn't have those skills to be praised for them, that doesn't mean he wouldn't appreciate being complimented. I also think Hilda, while being noble, is still willing to learn from commoners and Aryn would be a good teacher.
Favorite Uncle: Claude! They're both good with a bow (even though Aryn is a thief, not an archer), and Aryn would love to learn about what the wilds of Almyra are like from someone who has experienced them. At least once or twice, there's been a panic when Claude goes missing, only for him to be found sleeping in a hammock with Aryn in the middle of the woods.
Clementia Victor:
Favorite Aunt: Marianne. They're both very dedicated women of faith, so they'd be able to bond over worshipping Seiros, and Marianne would be able to help Clementia improve her faith magic. They also both have similar struggles with not liking their own potential to cause harm--Marianne with her Crest, Clementia with her physical strength, which means Clementia would feel very seen and understood by Marianne.
Favorite Uncle: Raphael, which probably isn't much of a surprise. Her dad is best friends with him, so she sees him a lot, and they're both very physically strong people. Raphael would be able to help her learn to control it, which she would appreciate.
Florian Niccolò Goneril:
Favorite Aunt: Marianne! Part of this is how close Hilda and Marianne are, which means Florian sees her a lot. He thinks she's beautiful (maybe even more than his mom, though he knows better than to let Hilda hear it). While Florian tends to be a bit more outspoken, he would be able to tone it down a bit around Marianne and they would be very close.
Favorite Uncle: Lorenz. They're both people who care a lot about their physical appearances, and have similar tastes. I also think Florian would enjoy being able to tease Lorenz; he hears enough from his mom to know exactly what makes him tick in the funniest way possible.
Hadya von Riegan:
Favorite Aunt: Lysithea. They both love sweets, so Hadya definitely steals a few treats for her to share with Lysithea when she visits. They both have thirsts for knowledge too, even though Hadya goes about satiating hers via sneaking around. Lysithea has a lot of research and books Hadya would be interested in looking at, as long as she wasn't forced to read them.
Favorite Uncle: Lorenz, for two primary reasons. The first is that Claude pretends to despair at the fact that his daughter likes Lorenz so much. The second is that Lorenz is extremely easy to mess with and sneak up on.
Ilana Kirsten
Favorite Aunt: Leonie. They're both women who like to be out in the 'great outdoors' and doing physical tasks, so they would be able to have a lot of fun seeing what they could forage and scavenge together. They also have similar weapon talents so they'd be able to train together!
Favorite Uncle: Ignatz, which I'm sure isn't surprising. Since Ignatz and Raphael are so close, Ilana would spend a lot of time around him. She would absolutely love the art he makes, and since she's a woodcarver, she'd enjoy getting to share the art she makes too!
Josephine Sonja Gloucester:
Favorite Aunt: Hilda! They're both noblewomen who care about fashion and cute things, and neither of them like doing tough manual labor. They would have a lot of fun getting to explore outfits together--on days where they're hanging out, don't expect them to get much else done; they're having a spa day.
Favorite Uncle: Raphael, weirdly. While Josephine doesn't like training and weights the way Raphael does, they both have a passion for cooking and food, and both have dispositions that lend themselves towards taking care of children, so they'd probably spend a lot of time cooking and maybe giving the food to schools or orphanages!
Virgil von Edmund:
Favorite Aunt: Hilda. Similar to Florian, part of this is just that Hilda and Marianne are close, so they see each other's kids a lot. I think Hilda would be able to help Virgil come out of his shell, sort of like how she was able to help Marianne during the events of the game.
Favorite Uncle: Ignatz. They're both gentle, artistically-inclined people who would prefer to spend their time somewhere alone rather than in big groups of people, so I think they'd enjoy just existing and working side-by-side, even if they don't talk a lot. Ignatz has painted Virgil's garden a few times, too.
This is such a hilarious DM especially because I can't tell if you mean multi-level marketing or boys kissing, lmao
For the former, Dvora would absolutely be at the head of some sort of wicked money scheme, and she would be reaping the golden rewards. She's not super posh or uptight despite being nobility, so she wouldn't get self-important about having money, but she would ultimately enjoy being rich and tricking people out of their money.
oh shit!! Still here I’m so sorry!! Just haven’t had a ton of ideas bouncing around lately 😔 I haven’t forgotten abt these characters don’t worry, I still love them!! I just haven’t had lots of thoughts abt what sorts of things I wanted to explore 💀
based off of the previous Black Eagles post by @butzel15
Elza Molinaro:
Favorite Aunt: Mercedes, mostly because she's a devout follower of the Church of Seiros and has been shown in the game to have an interest in Duscur's traditions. They also have very similar dispositions, though Mercedes is a bit more openly optimistic, and I think she'd be able to encourage Elza to also be more open. They'd get along great!
Favorite Uncle: Dimitri! Dedue and Dimitri are of course very close, making their children close. Elza has a lot of thoughts and opinions on how Faerghus treats its citizens, particularly those from Duscur, and would jump at the chance to work with its king to change and improve some of those policies. She and her father would both work closely with Dimitri in order to make sure Duscurians (and people from other regions such as Sreng or Dagda) are treated more fairly.
Ena Ubert:
Favorite Aunt: Mercedes, though this one was a bit tricky since I don't think Ena would love any of her aunts. Mercedes, though, also has a very gentle personality. Ena's love of children, soft clothes, and the Church of Seiros are all things Mercedes shares with her, so they have a lot of common interests.
Favorite Uncle: Dedue. Ena doesn't like being around people that frighten or overwhelm her, and while Dedue is physically intimidating, he is also very gentle and softspoken, which are traits she would appreciate. I think they could find some common ground in enjoying the outdoors and companionable silence.
Guinevere Adamantia Blaiddyd:
Favorite Aunt: Ingrid. I think Guin would look up to a physically strong and powerful woman such as Ingrid, and in turn, Ingrid would be able to help her channel her physical strength and her rebelliousness into a more healthy outlet (likely combat training). Guin also likes stories of honor and glory, which can often include knights' tales.
Favorite Uncle: Felix. Out of the adults in her life, Felix is the one who outwardly cares the least about what Guin does (he still cares, but he knows better than to express it and bother her). He doesn't come after her for being so rebellious/resistant towards Dimitri, which she appreciates. Sometimes he can get a bit overbearing; what Guin does reflects poorly on Faerghus, after all, but he always knows when he needs to take a step back.
Maddox Laurent Dominic:
Favorite Aunt: Mercedes! This probably isn't a surprise, given how close Mercedes and Annette are. Mercedes' relationship with Maddox would probably be a lot like her bond with Annette, and they would get along excellently.
Favorite Uncle: Dedue. Since Maddox struggles a bit with being a bigger, clumsier guy, he would look up to Dedue, who handles his large size very gracefully. Maddox also, even though he's terrible at it, would like to learn to cook and bake, which is something Dedue could teach him. The two of them would be able to spend a lot of time together doing odd jobs and just getting things done.
Margot Séverine Gautier:
Favorite Aunt: Annette. She would be able to help Margot with studying dark magic, since Annette herself is a reason mage, and I think being around someone as upbeat as Annette would be helpful for Margot, who tends to be rather grim. They also both have very strong work ethics.
Favorite Uncle: Dimitri (this one was a tricky choice). Ultimately, I think Dimitri's position as king means he would have access to a lot of helpful information that Margot could use in her studies. I also think he would be able to convince her to take a break every once in a while; he is the king so she would take his requests a bit more seriously.
Octavia Iris Fraldarius:
Favorite Aunt: Ingrid, which I'm sure most of you could guess. This one's pretty cut-and-dry; Ingrid is essentially everything Octavia wants to be when she grows up, so she would idolize her a lot.
Favorite Uncle: Sylvain! Since Felix and Sylvain are such close friends (in most timelines at least), Octavia would be around him a lot, and she would look up to him as an example of someone that can manage having knightly ideals with being nobility, because that's a tension she herself deals with. Octavia also really likes cold weather, and Gautier has some of the coldest winters in Fódlan, so travelling to Gautier would be very fun for her.
Sigmund Bragi Galatea:
Favorite Aunt: Mercedes! We know from the game that Mercedes loves telling ghost stories, and even though Sigmund would be terrified he would still love to listen to them. I also think Mercedes' calmer, kinder energy would be nice for Sigmund, who can sometimes get a little too overwhelmed and would need someone to bring him down a bit.
Favorite Uncle: Ashe, but Sylvain is a close second (and frequently acts like he's heartbroken about it). Sigmund's love of telling stories would blend well with Ashe's love of knights' tales, and Sigmund also loves trying new foods, which he would get a lot of opportunities to do around someone who's as good of a cook as Ashe.
Reynaldo Felicity von Martritz:
Favorite Aunt: Annette! Similar to Maddox, the fact that Rey's mom and Annette are so close means he would also end up being close to her. I also think Annette's tendencies towards planning and restlessness means they'd be able to come up with a lot of great parties and celebrations together! Rey would probably ask her to sing sometimes at the festivals he arranges.
Favorite Uncle: Sylvain. Even as a more refined nobleman, Sylvain still knows how to have a good time. I also think that Rey has a tendency to be very go-with-the-flow and not work very hard, and Sylvain's arc in the game involves him learning to have a better work ethic and take things more seriously, so he'd probably be able to help Rey with similar issues.
Hi hi! Thanks for the check in :) sorry there haven't been many posts lately! Finals are coming up for school and I've been a bit caught up in working on them (four essays, fml), but I do still want to come back to these characters and make things for them! Stay tuned and bear w me :)
Which of the many aunts and uncles would be the children's favorites? For example, Gawain von Hresvelg to Dorothea, Hubert, Ferdinand, etc, or Sigmund to Dimitri, Dedue, Ashe, etc. Would this be known openly or be an unspoken truth? Really like seeing these dynamics, especially since a lot of these characters have a lost sibling or two or 10 that having their classmates fill the aunt/uncle roles would be heartwarming.
Great question! I'll do this in stages so I can space them out :) Black Eagles first, stay tuned for the Lions and Deer in the future!
❤️🦅❤️Black Eagle Favorite Aunts and Uncles
Annalena von Hevring:
Favorite Aunt: Petra, interestingly. They have a very specific way of communicating and understanding one another without needing spoken or signed language--Petra doesn't know Fódlani sign and still isn't completely fluent in spoken Fódlani, either, but she and Annalena end up spending a lot of time together outside. Annalena is fascinated with the sights and smells of Brigid.
Favorite Uncle: Caspar! I think this one was probably pretty obvious. Linhardt and Caspar remain friends, and Annalena and Hester are also very close, so she sees Caspar a lot and likes him.
Friedrich von Varley:
Favorite Aunt: Dorothea. Friedrich, even if he'd never admit it, enjoys the opera because of his passion for poetry and writing, so to have such a famous opera songstress around him makes him starry-eyed (though you will never catch him saying so). Dorothea knows she's the favorite, but she also knows Friedrich is touchy about it, so she tries to subtly encourage his creative side.
Favorite Uncle: Caspar. Caspar's penchant for fighting and "justice" provides an outlet for Friedrich to express some of his frustration and irritation in a setting where the results are positive--if he has to be beating someone up, at least Caspar can direct him towards criminals instead of innocent people.
Others below the cut for space!
Gawain von Hresvelg:
Favorite Aunt: Bernadetta! I've touched on this a bit before in this post, but their personalities are very similar, and they like spending time together quietly.
Favorite Uncle: Hubert. Part of it is how often they see each other since Gawain and Morana are so close, but Hubert also helps him out and looks after him if Edelgard is too busy with her tasks as Emperor--if Gawain needs to draft a letter or go to a meeting, Hubert is his second choice for advice.
Hester von Bergliez:
Favorite Aunt: Edelgard! They both have a talent for axes, and Hester loves the opportunity to spar/train with the Emperor of Adrestia (talk about a high-profile opponent!). Edelgard, being the Emperor, also has to practice holding her tongue a lot, and that's something she can help Hester with.
Favorite Uncle: Similarly to Annalena, Hester's favorite uncle is Linhardt! She doesn't really get him (she can't understand sleeping so much and being so apathetic), but she thinks he's funny, and he helped teach her to sign.
Morana von Vestra:
Favorite Aunt: Petra. Petra is an extremely talented fighter, and she also has no Crest and uses no magic, so Morana can learn a lot from her techniques and skills. Morana also jumps at the opportunity to get to study fighting styles from places outside of Fódlan, so Brigidian fighting is fascinating to her.
Favorite Uncle: Ferdinand, much to Hubert's chagrin. He helps train her with lances, but more importantly, his relentless confidence and optimism helps keep her upbeat and sure of herself even when she's feeling frustrated at her lack of magical talent. Ferdinand is very good at overcoming his weaknesses or learning to work around them, and Morana values that.
Orion Arnault:
Favorite Aunt: Bernadetta! He's not at all deterred by her timidity/nervousness, and in fact really enjoys the opportunity to be around her and coax smiles out of her. They both have a love of cats and would spend a lot of time around them, and Orion also has a passion for sewing, so he and Bernie would be able to connect through that as well.
Favorite Uncle: Ferdinand! They have very similar personalities--wanting to go out of their way to help people and enjoying meeting people, and I also think Orion would see Ferdinand as someone to look up to. Ferdinand being his favorite is a surprise even to him, given how Orion does not like arrogant nobility, but I think Ferdinand greatly improves with that over the course of the game, and much like his mother, Orion's opinion of him improves a lot once he works on that.
Tadhg Macneary:
Favorite Aunt: Edelgard, but this one is a bit complicated. Tadhg respects her deeply and finds her to be a very capable ruler and orator, but he isn't sure how to feel about the Empire's continued dominion over Brigid. He does, however, agree with many of her opinions about the Church of Seiros, and is glad that the Empire is in good hands.
Favorite Uncle: Caspar--they both love celebrating and the great outdoors, even if Caspar doesn't like thunderstorms and Tadhg loves them. They would have a lot of fun getting to have bonfires and hunting + roasting their dinners, and they're both similarly dedicated to motivating their companions and living life to the fullest.
Theodora von Aegir:
Favorite Aunt: Dorothea. This is also one I've talked about before, right here! Dorothea is very empathetic and compassionate, which is something Theodora needs, and Theo would really look up to her.
Favorite Uncle: Linhardt. He has genuinely no opinion about anything Theodora does, and just meets her where she is when he talks to her, which is very reassuring/refreshing to her. She knows he won't care if she messes something up, and that makes her very comfortable around him.
“Romulus is Constance’s kid, and just when I thought the Nuvelles couldn’t get any more full of themselves, he came along and proved me wrong. He’s a brilliant mage just like his mom, but sometimes I wish he wouldn’t brag so much and would just let someone else talk. I know he’s got a lot of expectations on his shoulders, though, since he’s supposed to help Constance restore her house to its former glory, and he’s done a good job so far, so maybe he’s earned a bit of an ego.” - Yuri Leclerc
“My wonderful son! I could not be prouder of Romulus, for being so determined to rebuild House Nuvelle alongside myself! He is a perfect heir, and a mage almost as prolific as myself! We’ve been able to engineer many new spells together, not to mention the ones he’s created by himself—a magical shadow to hang over someone’s head, a beam of sunlight bright enough to blind someone, just to name two, and he’s still so young. I know we will continue to achieve greatness for many years to come!” - Constance von Nuvelle
Age + Birthday: 17, 7th of the Pegasus Moon (February 7)
Height: 6’0” (183 cm)
Appearance: Romulus is extremely tall and lean, with high, sharp features. He has tightly-curled hair cut short, though its two-toned, blonde-and-lavender coloring is still easily visible. His eyes are wide and periwinkle blue, with long, thick lashes. He wears tight, charcoal-gray pants and tall boots with silver heels that further emphasize his already-impressive height. He wears a white undershirt with a frilled cravat, and a rusty red, long-sleeved jacket. He covers the dark magic markings on his hands with thick, purple-gray gloves.
Likes: himself, his mother, exceeding expectations, bitter coffee, showy spells
Dislikes: sweet foods, pests, wyverns, getting his hands dirty
Lost Items: Expensive Cravat, [coming soon!]
Class: Dark Mage
Hidden Talent: Authority
Strength(s): Reason, Axe
Weakness(es): Flying Lance
Crest: Minor Crest of Noa
So in Claude and Balthus’ paired ending, Balthus actually marries Nader’s daughter and becomes essentially a retainer for Khalid/Claude in Alymra (crazy right?) So …. what would Dvora be like with Nader as a grandpa, her life in Alymra, and/or her relationship in with Hayda in this context? They seem like they would be partners in crime and get into all sorts of shenanigans 😂
Oh, absolutely! Nader and Dvora would be partners in crime, and poor Claude and Balthus are absolutely going to get gray hairs (Judith too lmao). Dvora would like living in Almyra too I think! She likes wyverns a lot, and Almyra is full of 'em, so she'd probably end up a wyvern rider in this timeline instead of a thief (ignoring that women traditionally can't ride wyverns; she would find a way). The warmer weather would be good for her too :)
Her and Hadya would absolutely be friends! Very similar to Dvora and Nader where they get up to a lot of shenanigans, but Hadya's tendency towards eavesdropping coupled with Dvora's love of cons means they are constantly filching money and goods off of other people (nevermind the fact that Hadya is royalty and doesn't need it). They'd honestly probably run a vicious rumor mill with the information they could gain together.
“I never expected Hapi to have a kid, of all people, but she’s a great mom, and Nuri’s been good for her. Sometimes I wish he’d pay a little more attention to his surroundings, though—he’s always got his head in the clouds, thinking about some myth he heard or whatever stars were out last night. I swear, if he could live his whole life at night, he would. It’s actually a lot more common to find him under the moon than the sun. Eh, it’s not my problem, and I certainly have no problem with the dark. To each their own.” - Yuri Leclerc
“Thankfully, Nuri didn’t inherit my whole sighing-thing. He still has to be a little careful about yelling or talking too loud, but he can sigh as much as he wants without summoning Demonic Beasts. We’ve spent a lot of time stargazing since he was born—his last name comes from a star, since I figured he should have some sort of surname. He can always change it later, if he wants to. For now, he seems pretty happy with it. That’s enough for me.” - Hapi
Age + Birthday: 15, 1st of the Red Wolf Moon (November 1)
Height: 5’6” (168 cm)
Appearance: Nuri is lean and lithe, with shoulders made muscular from continued archery training. His skin is the same warm brown as his mother’s, and his eyes are bright coral-pink. His hair falls in a long, disheveled coral mohawk that stops just below his shoulder-blades, and he wears a golden earring, as well as a golden stud in his nose. He wears dark, soot-gray pants tucked into durable leather boots, and a sleeveless black shirt beneath leather chest armor. To protect from the weather, he wears a purple-red cape with a minty green lining and a golden clasp.
Likes: archery, stargazing, birdwatching, storytelling, large animals, bonfires
Dislikes: enclosed spaces, being underground, having to trust people, getting lost
Lost Items: Star Charm
Class: Archer
Hidden Talent: Heavy Armor
Strength(s): Bow, Riding
Weakness(es): Sword
Crest: Minor Crest of Timotheos
“Mmm… Balthus’ daughter, eh? She’s definitely inherited his greed, that’s for sure, though thankfully she let him keep the penchant for gambling. She’s also a lot smarter than she lets on—honestly, I don’t know why she keeps up the charade of being a brute when it’s obvious she could do a lot more than just petty crime, but I’m not her father, so I’m staying out of it. If Balthus chooses to step in, that’s on him.” - Yuri Leclerc
“Dvora’s awesome! She’s got a real eye for gold, which is somethin’ we agree on for sure! I’ve been teachin’ her to brawl, too, and she’s great at it! She throws an even better right hook than I do. She doesn’t seem too bitter about not gettin’ to be noble, either. We’ve been havin’ a blast together, me and her, so I think she’s gonna turn out all right.” - Balthus von Albrecht
Age + Birthday: 17, 3rd of the Wyvern Moon (October 3)
Height: 5’8” (172 cm)
Appearance: Dvora, despite her occupation as a thief, has a muscular build and broad shoulders. Her unruly black hair is shaved on one side, and falls just past her ear on the other. She has brown eyes rimmed by thick lashes, always scanning her surroundings for the telltale glint of coin. She wears dark pants tucked into tall leather boots, a black sleeveless shirt, and a white waist-length jacket. The jacket has nearly a dozen pockets sewn into its lining, perfect for hiding the items she filches.
Likes: riches, pulling off a con, wyverns, weight training, studying mathematics
Dislikes: nobility, the Church of Seiros, gambling
Lost Items: Warped Coin, [coming soon!]
Class: Thief
Hidden Talent: Reason
Strength(s): Sword, Brawl
Weakness(es): Faith
Crest: Minor Crest of Chevalier
sasha like fashion, florian likes fashion... let the two of them hang out! be buddies!!!
Oh they absolutely would be!! They would have the most delicious gossip sessions known to man lmao
Sasha would honestly love the opportunity to hang out w Florian! They'd have a great time trying to come up with outfits for him that are both practical and cute (since Florian dislikes sewing and Sasha likes innovation), and they would spend a lot of time chatting + painting each other's nails like a sleepover lol
They'd probably work well together on the battlefield too, since Florian is a close-range, physical fighter (brigand) while Sasha is more long-range and magical (warlock). They'd totally get along! It would be great :D
I am morbidly curious about a non-Azure Moon Bernadette/Felix family. Their non-Azure Moon ending is a bit infamous due Bernadette becoming more reclusive and Felix essentially taking over the duties of House Varley. What would their family be like? It not as bad as it seems? Or is dripping with bittersweet angst? Or both :>
Ohohoho, there's some fun stuff to unpack here >:) going under a cut bc I RAMBLED
Firstly, I think there are definitely some things that get worse in this timeline than they do in others. A lot of Friedrich's temper and irritability comes from the fact that he feels ignored/neglected, and in a world where Bernie is even more reclusive/fearful, those feelings intensify for him. Felix would do his best to be a present father, but I also think he wouldn't have a ton of time given that he's running House Varley, and he never expected to be effectively a single parent, or to be spending so much of his energy and emotional time on looking after his wife--he loves Bernie and wants to take care of her, but it would be exhausting sometimes.
Also on the subject of Felix, while I don't imagine him as an overly-harsh parent, he's not one that sugarcoats things for them either. Octavia still wants to be a knight in this timeline, and Felix is just as open about his dislike of this as he is elsewhere. He doesn't want her to die, and to him, knighthood is a quick road straight to a useless death. Octavia is relentlessly optimistic and stubborn, though, and Felix can't convince her to do anything else, so he does his best to help protect her. If he can't stop her, he might as well make sure she stays safe.
Because of his relationship with Octavia, I do think he ends up favoring her over Friedrich, even unintentionally. Felix has a lot of emotional baggage and investment connected to raising such a happy kid, especially one that wants to do what Glenn did, and I think there would be times where he got too caught up in protecting her, and forgot to look out for Friedrich, too.
As I'm sure you can assume, then, Friedrich ends up lashing out more and stirring up more trouble in this timeline. He's bitter that his mother doesn't leave her room to talk to him and his sister (though I imagine he spent a lot of time with her as a baby, and Octavia still talks to her through the door), bitter that his sister seems so unbothered by this, and bitter that his father clearly has a favorite that isn't him. He doesn't resent Octavia for being Felix's favorite, because he knows she can't control that, but he is irritated by the fact that she seems so okay with the family situation she lives in.
Octavia in this timeline ends up faking a little bit of her optimism and "putting on a brave face," so to speak. She does still idolize knights and genuinely wants to be one so she can help people, and she's still stubborn enough to fight her father on the subject until he gives way, but the fact that her mother is so timid and unwilling to speak to even her own children hurts her. Octavia's a very sensitive kid with a big heart, so something like that really gets to her, as does the fact that it so clearly bothers her brother, even if he won't admit it. Because of Bernie's absence, I think Octavia ends up taking on more of a motherly/caretaking role for Friedrich, and he is very resistant to this, which in turn hurts Octavia. She's just trying to help, and he is vehemently opposed to letting her.
This family is... complicated, for sure. I still think they would look out for each other--if Friedrich asked for help from Felix or Octavia, he would get it, and he would help Octavia if she asked him--but the communication would be poor, to say the least, given that one of the family members is Felix "allergic to feelings" Fraldarius, and Friedrich isn't much better normally. Octavia would end up doing a lot of the emotional legwork (as can often happen with eldest daughters). She holds no ill will towards her father or brother, she just wishes they would talk more and do a better job of listening to each other and her. Friedrich just wishes his sister would get off his back, and that his parents would pay attention to him (his acting out is both a result of resentment and a way for him to try and get noticed, even if the attention he gets from his parents isn't what he really wants).
“I must say, Sasha is a very unconventional kid. Luckily, I’m an unconventional man, so we’ve gotten along well. They’re not quite as ‘savage’ as me, but I’m certainly not going to complain. I don’t want my kid getting blood on their hands—something about paving a better future, and all that. They’re not some easy-to-fool peacock, though, and I’d advise against trying anything with them. Sasha can look out for themself. They’ve been spending a lot of time out at night, helping out where they can. It might not be the safest, but thugs understand they’re under the Savage Mockingbird’s protection, and they’re no slouch with Reason, either.” - Yuri Leclerc
Age + Birthday: 16, 26th of the Great Tree Moon (April 26)
Height: 5’2” (157 cm)
Appearance: Sasha is small and lean, always moving quickly and nimbly from one place to the next, flitting like a bird. Their hair is a pale silvery-lavender, cut to curl and fluff out around their ears, which are perpetually shimmering with earrings. Their eyes are the same color, often decorated with silver eyeshadow or black eyeliner, and for special occasions they stick small, sparkling stones to their cheeks. They wear high-waisted black pants that cut off just below their knees, black boots, and a long white jacket that flourishes behind them when they move. They sometimes wear a black cap with their hair tucked up inside it.
Likes: sweet foods, helping others, board and card games, fashion, innovation
Dislikes: ignorant people, expectations, people who hold grudges, jealousy
Lost Items: Pearl Earring, Gilded Gamepiece, [coming soon!]
Class: Warlock
Hidden Talent: Sword
Strength(s): Reason, Authority
Weakness(es): Axe, Flying
